Well…in case you haven’t heard, the supreme court ruled in favor of Obamacare this morning, allowing the premium subsidies to continue on both the federal and state exchanges. I think they finally got one right in this case…it was clear from the start that was what the law meant…and everyone who worked on it said it did…and the decision going 6-3 for wasn’t even close…and it shouldn’t have been given that the court is supposed to follow precedent and that is how they have read this stuff for more than a hundred years. I found the reaction of Scalia to be more of the same old crap that he spews when he doesn’t get his way and it was funny that Roberts trolled him a little on his dissent…so now, we are waiting for the equality case that could come down tomorrow or Monday…that one shouldn’t be close, either….but you never know with this court….

June 25th
Well…running really late today with not getting out of bed until 7:30 this morning..the one thing I can’t understand is even with getting up that late, I still feel like I haven’t slept at all…and, with the looks of the bed, there was major tossing and turning last night…..didn’t get out to blues yesterday since K called an invited me over to hang out around the pool and that looked much easier….didn’t much else yesterday and I don’t feel bad about it…I’m taking this week off from guilt about anything and I am just going to do what I want instead of what I should do…in that vein, it was a cocktail night last night and I watched a neat little movie called “St. Vincent” with Bill Murray in it…pretty funny….not much to do today…need to look at the radar to see if there is rain coming for the bike ride but I may go anyway…don’t mind getting wet if it’s warm….more later…
Not much to talk about…
Well…it has been one of those days where I have tried and tried to find something to talk about with no success so I guess I’ll just do another one where I just talk about anything…I am a little disappointed that the air bag module failed in the car today…I know it’s 21 years old and the one in the MX-6 failed when it was about 10 years old so I guess I shouldn’t bitch too much…but, I may have to try to find one that will fit…it is a Ford part in 1994 so I may be able to get one from a Probe…have to check it out…I am a little concerned about he supreme court rulings that are due int he next few days…it will really give me something to talk about so that will be cool, but I don’t want the results of the King v. Burwell….maybe they’ll surprise me an rule the right way for a change…I may go out to see blues on the mall out at the Deltaplex tonight if I can get through the traffic…there is suppose to be a car show out there, too, and that may be fun and I need to get out and do something….more later…
June 24th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…and the airbag module failed in the car this morning so I need to cover the light with some duct tape…they are just not available anymore and I don’t want the annoying light flashing…I did sleep okay last night and had a few dreams that included furnace blower belts and nuclear meltdowns so that was fun….went out and had a few with G last night which was kinda fun but I am feeling it today…need to get on the bike in a few minutes to get moving and that will make it better…I am taking this week off from looking for work and just living for a change but I am having trouble relaxing with that still hanging over my head…oh, well…not much to do today…just the tape on the dash and some cleaning…more later….
The only thing you need to know about the TPP…
Well…with the cloture vote that happened today and the scheduling of the full senate vote on the TPP (the trans Pacific Partnership) trade agreement there is only one thing you need to know about the president selling out the working people of the US…and that is that it has the overwhelming support of the repubs in both the senate and house…in fact, without this support, there would be no TPP agreement…remember that, it is a repub supported plan and that is all you need to know…that the repubs, that hate American workers and do everything in their power to help the owners screw them are the ones that are lauding this monstrosity that gives away the country…more than that, the entire world to corporations…the workers days are over and it was done with the unholy alliance of a dem president and the repubs that have hated him from the start…why would they now work with him unless this agreement is everything they want? This is crap and Obama knows it…what legacy is he trying to leave behind? Not the one he wants, I’m sure…geez…
June 23rd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get out to have lunch with T so that made it better….did not sleep at all last night but the strange thing is I feel okay today…didn’t get a lot else done yesterday but watch some sports and the US team winning was cool, too…I do have a bunch of stuff to do today but that will only keep me busy this morning so that will leave the aft for getting some cleaning done…I can’t believe how dirty my car is even after all the rain yesterday…not sure how it got all the dust on it but it is certainly a pain….not much to do today…have to hit the bank this morning so the check for my plate renewal won’t bounce but that is about it….more later…
Waiting on the Supreme Court…
Well…it’s been an okay day so far with a really nice lunch with T and getting soaked just walking to the car…but, it was supposed to be a day when we were to see at least one of the major supreme court decisions but they never came….so, I’ll be waiting on the court for a couple more days until Thursday when one of the big ones will be announced…there was one case that came out today that should have the police being, much more careful with the people they detain…when the court said that detainees have the same constitutional rights as anyone else and that if the prisoners are abused in any way, the police are liable to be sued for their actions…this one came about when the cops detained a man and took him to jail, then beat and tasered him for no reason….I just hope this extends to the cops facing criminal charges….it would be about time…
June 22nd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get anything done…didn’t even take a drive in the car…just couldn’t get the energy up to to do it…slept okay, I think, but I’m not sure with how I feel today…but, that is my fault and I can live with that…it is really hot outside already and that is going to make the bike ride a little bit of a chore…but, that means we are going to have some storms later which should be cool….the bike has been working great lately and it’s been three weeks since the last flat so I think that is cured, too…I had a great ride yesterday feeling just as I do now so that is something to look forward to…may have lunch with T but I haven’t heard from her yet so I’m not sure about that one…not much to do today…just the ride and then lunch but that is about it…after more coffee, that is….need at least one more cup before I get out on the bike…more later…
Confederate nonsense…
Well…in the aftermath of the church shooting in SC, I have read reams of stuff about the “Confederate pride” that is still a thing in the south…and I have lots of questions about that. Pride in what? That your ancestors were treasonous murderers who killed more Americans that have been killed in all of the rest of the wars in the country’s history? Pride that you bought and sold people and built your fortunes on the backs of others? Pride that you are still murdering black people at an astonishing rate? Pride that you lost the Civil war? And not just lost…you were humiliated and that is something to be proud of? I have had enough of this neo Confederate nonsense…there was nothing to be proud of in killing Americans just to keep your slaves and your revisionist nonsense that you spout today that the war was against “northern aggression” is just BS…I just don’t want to hear this crap anymore…geez..

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I was not good so I feel pretty crappy today…can’t remember how I slept so it must have been okay…I did get some of the kitchen done yesterday and will try to get the rest of it done today…watching the F1 race right now so this one is going to be short…I am going to get the bike ride in after the race if it’s not raining…need to check the radar…okay, I’ll be back in a while to add to this one…wow, big crash…more later…
