An okay day…

Well….sitting here waiting for 7 to come and thought I’d come back here and do another one of these just for the heck of it….there was more politics to do but I’m not in that mood right now…and I just noticed that I’m over for the month so I really don’t have to do any more but…here I am again…I did get a bike ride in and it didn’t start to rain until the last two miles so that was cool but, it started out warm and colder as the ride went on…didn’t take my gloves so my hands were pretty stiff by the time I got back…won’t do that again…I did get a few things done around here today so I think I earned a few cocktails tonight….and the new season of “Stranger Things” dropped today so I think I’ll start that tonight….once fall came, there are too many shows to watch and I am getting behind so I do need to try to catch up on some of them tonight….okay…that’s enough for today….

The great dealmaker…

Well…just had to do a short one on an article that I just read about NAFTA and the “great dealmaker” who resides in the WH…after his bluster and bullshit about how bad of a deal NAFTA is and the only he can get a better deal….it was revealed the other day that with all of the idiot trump’s hatred of Mexico, they have decided to purchase all of the agricultural products that they would normally purchase from US farmers from South America. Yep, from trump running his big mouth and his racism, farmers in the US just lost almost 14 billion dollars in sales to Mexico….how do you like that farmers? These folks went for trump by almost 70% and now many of them will be put out of business…and all I can say is “votes have consequences”  and this idiot and his blundering is what you voted for…I don’t have a damn bit of sympathy for you….impeach…

The PR electrical contract gets even worse…

Well…if you remember, I did one of these earlier in the week about the 300 million dollar, no-bid electrical contract that Whitefish Energy got to restore the electrical grid in Puerto Rico…you know, the company with two employees and no office anywhere that is owned by trump cronies….that’s bad enough, but it gets even worse…in the contract, there is a clause that forbids anyone from auditing anything about the costs in the contract…yep, no one can know how much profit these guys are stealing or anything else…other than what they are charging…and they ARE charging…I mean $300 dollars an hour for a lineman? And $332 dollars for accommodations and $80 bucks a day for food? So, they are billing at least $812 dollars a day for EACH of the contract people they are renting since they only have 2 full time employees….I’ve done a lot of contracts and there is no damn way I would approve one that I couldn’t know what the costs are and how much profit is in it….but this is trumpworld so I guess that’s how things are done now….they should all be locked up…..impeach…

October 27th

Well…running early today with getting up early and I guess that’s okay…slept okay with taking some antihistamine  so I could breathe so I feel okay today….still think I have a bug since I feel warm sitting here and my lungs are still itchy and coughing…so, I think I’ll take it easy today and just do a bike ride and then lay low for the day…did get a few things done yesterday but I won’t get much done today….and don’t really need to…okay, I’m already feeling tired just sitting here so I am going to take a break and come back later for more…I need coffee….more later…

Going downhill….

Well…have been feeling off for the past day or so and have been going downhill all day today….have started to cough and I am sitting here sweating with absolutely no energy…so I guess I’ve got a bug….crap…hope it doesn’t get much worse but it probably will…glad I don’t have anything to do tomorrow…and it’s supposed to rain so I can even stay off the bike…I did get some stuff done today…got the pins greased on the car and sprayed the rusted parts in the front end with rust preventer..and I got a bike ride in but it was torture…that’s when I felt the lungs were not right….the one good thing was that my back didn’t hurt much today and it is still okay….I guess that will have to be the thing that keeps the day from being really crappy….

Elon Musk to the rescue….

Well…amid the total failure of the idiot trump and his fake companies to restore electrical service to Puerto Rico…5 weeks in and over 70% of the island is still without power…there has been one bright spot that was just reported on today. The San Juan children’s hospital has been hard hit by the hurricane and it’s aftermath, trying to keep the children alive using unreliable generators and the hurculean efforts of it’s staff….enter Elon Musk of Tesla who, a couple of days after the hurricane hit, offered to start the transition of the island to renewable power using his solar panels and batteries…but trump and his minions had no interest since coal and oil are the only things they think about….oh, and trying to make profit off of this disaster….in three weeks, Musk and his team have installed and started an installation that is supplying all of the reliable power that the hospital needs…and saving the lives of the most vulnerable….Now, this is how things should operate in a caring world..but, we live in trumpworld so good luck with that…..impeach…

Car update…

Well…sitting here waiting for C&J to post so I thought I’d do a little car update…a little more detail of the battery swap. It was frickin miserable to change it out in the rain and then having to treat the surface rust under it…and the weird thing is there was never a tray under the battery…it was just sitting on the metal of the trunk floor…but, when I was treating the rust, a plastic tray fell out from being wedged between a brace and the inside of the fender….and it was the battery tray that I never even saw in the 5 years I’ve owned the car…at first, I had no clue what it was but then it dawned on me so I cleaned it up and put it under the battery…pretty cool but I wonder why the previous owner would have taken it out? Oh, well….at least it’s there now and I feel better about stopping the damage the last battery had done….

October 26th

Well…running normally for a Thursday and it was good to get out and get some groceries…no good deals but when you’t down to nothing in the fridge, you have to buy something…slept really crappy last night but I don’t feel it today…I actually feel okay and that is just weird….and my back doesn’t hurt right now so I’ll take that….but, the car was covered in ice this morning and I had to run it to melt since I have no clue where my scraper is….the new battery spun the car over like crazy this morning and I am happy to have that fixed…but, I do need to grease the pins on the front brakes today but that is an easy job….and then the car should be ready for winter….other than putting the snow tires back on…but that won’t happen until Dec 1st or so…..not much to do today…I should clean and probably will do a little…more later…

Stealing more money…

Well…not sure if you’ve heard about the newest scheme from friends of the idiot trump to steal more money from you and I….this is a good one….with over 70% of Puerto Rico still without power, and without any oversight…a company from interior sec Ryan Zinke’s home town has just been given a 300 million dollar no-bid contract to repair over 2400 miles of electrical wires across the island…only one little problem with that…this “company” has only 2 employees, no office, and it’s biggest job to date was to string 5 miles of wires…yep, a company working out of a post office box or somebodies basement has just had 300 million of yours and my money shoveled to them and their only presence is a FB page where one of the “owners” is proudly a trump donor and has pictures of her with many trump cronies….now we know why the governor of PR ignored the current contracts and agreements for other electric companies to help in an emergency…he left his people in the dark so he could reward trump cronies with free cash….the swamp just gets deeper and deeper…repubs, these criminals need to go…impeach…

Never saw this before…

Well…with two days of steady rain, I expected there would be some flooding on the trail when I went out on the bike…but, I didn’t expect what I saw…in the second retention pond next to M-6, the water level was almost up to the trail when it is normally 15 feet or so below it…and over at the park at 60th and Hanna Lake, the water was all the way out to 60th street…so high that there was no way I was even going to attempt to ford it to get into the park….I will be interested to see what it looks like tomorrow…
