Well…having a tough time getting started today and my allergies are already afternoon bad so that is not a good sign…I did sleep in all the way to 5:45 this morning but feel pretty worn out so I think I’ll have to ease into it for now…I think it’s going to be a struggle to ride doubles for the rest of the month with being so stiff every day…I wonder if I can do permanent damage by too much exercise? Wouldn’t that be ironic? Oh, well…had an okay day yesterday with all the races on but that means I didn’t get much done and will have to do better today….not sure why I have to do better but I do…going to try to get to the bathroom but that will be after a workout and a ride…we may finally get some storms late this afternoon so the second ride will have to be before that…it was nice yesterday that the temp got up over 70 for the afternoon ride and it looks the same for today….I think that’s the only thing that is keeping me going out for the two a days…okay, need more coffee and to read some news…more later…

A milestone of sorts…
Well…as I said this morning, I had some problems with the bike yesterday with a loud creaking/cracking sound coming out of the front wheel on the second ride yesterday…it was so bad that I could feel it in the handlebars so it needed attention…so when I got back here, I tore into it to see what was happening and couldn’t really find anything wrong with it but greased it and put it back together…which was a pain trying to get the bearings to stay in the inner races while I installed the outers and the axle…took 4 tries to get it right but I think I did since it was pretty much quiet on the run this morning…which I went out way too early for…on the bike before 6:30 but it was already over 60 and with very little wind so that was cool…and I hit a milestone of sorts…with the 3,486 miles on the new bike from last year, and getting to 1,514 miles this morning I got to 5,000 miles on the new bike in 13 months…not bad for an old guy…and I’ll have the last record of the highest monthly total to report later in the week…have already broken it but it remains to be seen by how much….that’s why I’m still doing doubles all this week and I have to get out again in between Indy and the Coke 600 at 6 tonight…
May 26th
Well…running a little late today but I shouldn’t be…got up at 5:30 and got out on the bike by 6:30 to do the first ride of the day in time to see the F1 race at 9…and I finally got here and it’s only 8 so everything worked out as I planned…and that is a little sad that I have to plan anything with not really having anything to do other than watch races today…I did sleep okay last night but the bike ride was a chore without having coffee before going out…it does look like I got the noise in the front wheel fixed but I’ll talk about that later when I do one on what a pain in the butt working on the bearings is on this bike…I did get a few things done yesterday…got started on the kitchen counters but not until late in the day so I didn’t make much progress so I may have to work on it some today in between the races…it look like Indy is going to be challenged by rain so I may have plenty of time to do that after F1….don’t have to cook today with leftovers to be used so it looks pretty lazy starting now…need to have coffee and read the paper….more later…
40,000 beer jobs gone to tariffs…
Well…maybe this will start to get the country’s attention…in a study released last week, it appears that trump’s stupid tariffs are now reaching their jobless tentacles into other parts of the economy other than farmers. As every damn economist has said, the only result of these stupid tariffs is that Americans will pay for them…both in higher prices and in job losses in every damn industry…and the beer industry is no different with almost 40,000 jobs gone since the higher costs were imposed on the industry and companies have had to scale back production and expansion because of the higher costs…you might say because of this new tax put on the American people. For a comparison, this 40K jobs are more jobs than every damn coal job east of the Mississippi and it is just the start that will get much, much worse when the latest 25% tariffs kick in. So, why does trump hate the American worker so much? He’s just like every other entitled prick in this country…they don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves….and when you mix in trump’s epic stupidity, it will take years if ever to repair this damage…impeach…
May 25th
Well…that wasn’t too bad….didn’t get up til 6 or so and slept okay but there is a huge need for coffee right now and it is a fresh coffee day so that is a good thing….but, the allergies are already pretty bad even with just getting up so I will be suffering all day today…and I’m on a schedule this morning with needing to get out on the bike by 7:30 to be back here by 9 for Monaco qualifying…it looks like they have changed the weather forecast so I may be able to ride twice today…it was supposed to storm all day and now it’s down to 50% and I am not sure how I feel about that…I do need the time on the bike to get to 600 miles but I was really looking forward to taking a day off and cleaning and maintaining the bike…I think I will clean it after the first ride this morning since it is filthy and the shifter is starting to hang up and that is annoying…so, it looks like not much is going to get done again today other than cooking…I did try some spaghetti sauce that Tom made and it is pretty damn good so that will be one meal and I have some chicken that needs to be cooked so it will be easy…I do need to get some other stuff thawing to run the instant pot Monday…more later…

Well…with the news from yesterday that the idiot trump and his toady Barr are going to use the justice department to attack people who trump thinks did him wrong, with trump going so far as to bleat treason when he really has no clue what the word even means, it time to go Nancy Pelosi…it’s time to start impeachment to protect this country from this absolutely unfit asshole and let the entire world know who trump is and stop this ruination of our country and institutions. This is not the time to even consider politics in this decision, it is imperative to get this process started or there won’t be any politics to worry about anymore…there won’t be any country left after the repubs are done with it…their constant graft and lies and lawbreaking needs to be stopped…and I don’t want to hear the argument that impeachment could cost us the House or get trump re-elected…surveys already say that 54% of the American people already won’t vote for trump…so do you think that after all of trump’s crimes are revealed live on tv that more people would vote for him? Let’s go, Nancy…it’s time to protect this country and let the chips fall where they may…impeach…
May 24th
Well…I finally turned a 4:22 morning into a 6:22 morning but I don’t know if that is going to make any difference since I still feel pretty crappy this morning…my allergies freaked right out last night and even a red dot and flonase didn’t work and I was sneezing and coughing all night…don’t look forward to this all summer…I did get out to have some fun yesterday with pool with Tom and it was nice to get the hell out of here for a change..and a top down run out and back left me with a little sunburn even with having 30 sunscreen on…it looks like I have the coolant leak figured out in the car since it was dry under it and that is a relief since I just don’t want to get under it until I have a garage to do it in…didn’t get a lot done yesterday other than a single bike ride and today looks the same with the rain coming in around noon so that will mean only one ride again today…that is putting a dent in my goal of getting to 600 miles for the month but I will get to 500 so that isn’t bad…I should get some cleaning in today since both the kitchen and bathroom need work and the living room can use a once over, too…but, I need coffee right now and to read the news some…more later…

Well…decided to not do a second ride today with the wind blowing over 20 and gusting to 30 or so…so, I thought I’d do one of these before I try to take a nap to compensate for getting up before 5 this morning…I just read something that is pretty damn funny..it seems that this morning, Nancy Pelosi called on the idiot trump’s family or staff to intervene with him before he hurts himself or the country given the spectacle of his meltdown yesterday. Now, you know I’m an old guy and have been around for a while, but in all of those years I’ve never heard a speaker of the House ask a president’s family to intervene before he hurts himself…and trump’s reactions this morning shows that she has set up house in his head rent free and is owning the moron in chief and that makes me laugh out loud. I wonder how this will set with the “great businessman” to be roundly ridiculed by everyone who saw his little hissy fit in the Rose Garden yesterday? Meltdown, meltdown, meltdown….impeach this ass right now….
May 23rd
Well…another 4:54 morning and I am getting damn tired of them…that makes about 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I am going to be hurting later today…oh, well…and I am hurting damn near everywhere again…it struck me yesterday that the pain is almost the same as it was when I had to give up running and I think it’s from too much riding but I am not going to give that up too…doesn’t hurt too much this morning so I think I’ll live through it…they did bring my new appliances yesterday and it is going to take a while to get used to the new noises they make…the basket of the washer is big enough to put almost all of my clothes in at once and that is kind of weird…and they have all kind of sensors on them that set the temp and water level and that’s almost too damn modern for me…but, I have clean clothes so I guess that’s all I needed…didn’t get much done yesterday and today looks the same…I do have to do the grocery run and get a bike ride in but that is about it…my bathroom needs a cleaning so I may get to that today…but who knows? I’m not too motivated right now but I can’t have coffee until after I get back from groceries…and that will be an hour and a half…damn, I hate getting up early…more later..
The toddler in chief holds his breath…
Well..damn, trump really is a toddler…after storming out of a meeting after three minutes with Pelosi and Schumer that was supposed to be about how to start fixing our crumbling infrastructure, the toddler in chief went out to talk to reporters and whine that he won’t do his job until congress stops investigating him…the only thing missing was him jumping up and down and holding his breath. Is this enough repubs? Is it finally enough that this moron criminal won’t even talk to anyone about his frickin job unless they cave to his blackmail? You can see the meltdown coming and it is really going to hit the fan when the appeals court that has the case about his obstruction by not providing his financial statements rules against him and Mazars has to hand all of it over. Today was such a childish spectacle of an entitled idiot coming apart when he was told no you can’t have ice cream before dinner…the ball is in your court dems, it is now time to get the impeachment ball rolling and remove this obviously unfit toddler from office…
