Well…haven’t done one of these in a while and could have with the fox that ran across the trail in front of me yesterday, but today was weirder and I wanted to share it…after I did the first ride I was coming back past the coles bakery and marina around 8 or so and there was nothing unusual there…just boats and the nice smell of baking bread…and then I did the grocery run and read the news a bit and got back on the bike by a little before ten…and that put me at the coles marina at about 10 and I was shocked to see a small deer lying on the side of the trail with it’s belly ripped open in an area where the only traffic is bikes, walkers, and runners so it couldn’t have been a car doing the damage….now it could have been one of the electric bikers riding one of those huge things that weigh 150 pounds without a rider….but I don’t think a bike would tear the animal open…so that makes me think it was some kind of a predator but during the day? We do have bears out here but very few and there are some coyotes but that would need a pack of them since this small deer would have had a mother there to protect it….this is going to be a puzzle for a while…and I really do wonder what could have done it…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
