Well…yeah, I know I said I wasn’t going out to the beach today but it got to be almost noon and I said what the hell…a good way to end the summer of the beach is to do it on a Friday…and I’m glad I did….it was mostly empty but those same damn yakkety people set up right next to me again and they had the whole damn beach that they could have used…what the hell? But, I didn’t let it ruin my day since the water was warm, the waves were fun, and I could stay in for 45 minutes so I didn’t have to listen to them….getting a swim in was the topper for the season…and I didn’t feel the melancholy that I used to get when we did weeks at Harbor Springs since I know I can do it again next year if I’m still alive…should have the house done by then so there won’t be any guilt from taking the summer off…I do have some wood finishing to do down the back stairs, the porch ceiling, and the cabinet in the bathroom and I may try to get those done over the winter, too, so I can really take the summer off to train for the two week trip to the UK that’s happening the end of Sept. next year…we’ll be walking a ton over there so I need to be ready to walk 10 miles a day and that will take some training since riding the bike doesn’t do it….but right now a little football and then the new Lord of the Rings tv show…and that will take up most of the night….<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
