Well…damn, it’s a bitch getting old…and this trip has worn me out to the point that I’m looking forward to going home and we still have Rome to go…okay, no, I shouldn’t whine like that…it’s probably my last chance to spend time with my daughter when I am still capable of doing things…and I need to remember that…she has been a trouper and keeps us organized while I really don’t know enough about the places we’ve visited to be of much help with suggestions of what to see and do…and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t do the work it takes for a long trip like this…oh, well…I get to see Galileo this morning and it’s really cool that DaVinci, Galileo, and Michelangelo lived here at the same time…and Mark Twain lived here for years in the 1800’s…I look at the history of this part of the world and the US crowing abut 250 years when this place has been here for thousands gives some perspective on how young the US is…and has made another part of the world real to me like the UK trip did…I am going to enjoy this last week here…and I still have 250 euros in cash to spend by the end of the week since I am really trying to not have any left when we go home…it’s 9am here and I need to get ready to go…62 degrees and sunny so I need to sunscreen this old skin…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
