Well…with the stress of needing to get out of here for the appointment this morning and from being good last night, it appears that I’m going to have to live with sleeping about 3 hours tonight…it’s 2 am and I feel like I won’t be able to get back to sleep but I guess I’ll try in an hour or so of watching old movies and doing one of these…pretty darn sore from all the shoveling yesterday but I won’t take anything for it since they are working on my BP today…so it looks like I’m going to be on the bike by 5:30 and be able to get two rides in before I head out to Meijers before the appointment…the birds have cleaned me out so I need to get 20 more pounds of seed along with some other stuff and then I can hit aldis after since I can see it from my doctor’s office…and I need more celery and carrots to make ham soup later in the week…and I’ll have to be able to get out of here later in the week to pick up the new BP prescription…so, I need to put the snow shovel in the car this morning just in case…and maybe to depot to get more melting salt….more later…

Well…okay, I’ve been whining about having to shovel 40 yards of the alley behind my house to be able to get out for a doctor appointment tomorrow morning…probably shouldn’t have since doing the 40 yards and then all of my walks only took an hour or so and it was no strain at all…still going to put the snow shovel and the bag of oil dry in the car when I go out…doing all the snow has me walking a lot and it’s breaking in my new boots really well…very comfy now and they keep my feet toasty even being out there more than an hour…and they have such good traction that I don’t slip at all…pretty cool and I wonder why I didn’t buy a pair years ago…the new gloves kept my hands pretty warm, too, at least as long as it takes to shovel and it’s nice to not have my fingers turn white…so, all in all, I think I’ll just shovel the alley when it snows and let my stress levels go down….still no plowing going on up here so I have to dust off my snow driving skills in the morning….momentum!

Well…man, I don’t know what the heck is going on this morning but after getting two rides in downstairs I just can’t get warm…have been sitting here shivering for a half hour now even with having my heating pad cranked up and lying on my legs…and that is going to make being outdoors for a couple of hours pretty tough after the Man U match is over…the doves have almost emptied the feeder already today so it looks like I’ll have to buy more feed tomorrow if I can get out of here…and it’s snowing again and that is pretty damn depressing when I still have shoveling to do…part of the shivering is from not eating enough…again…with only having a bowl of soup and a couple of pieces of pizza for three days in a row now and today will make it four…oh, well…have to go look at some news but I should fill the feeder again with it completely empty…

Well…crap, didn’t sleep at all last night with being so stressed out about getting the car out tomorrow morning…they have not plowed the alley or streets up here and there is 8 inches of it on the street I need to use to get to the one street they plow…I still have to shovel 30 yards of the alley to have any chance of getting the momentum I need so I’ll do that this afternoon….I didn’t realize that I didn’t come back here for two more yesterday and I have no clue how that happened…so does that mean I have to do 5 today? Not sure if I have that in me but I’ll give it a try…I do have to go down and put the miles in this morning but it may just be two rides with all of the shoveling I have to do…and I need to figure out meals with running out of leftovers today…Man U plays this morning at 10 so that only gives me enough time to do two rides before that since I’m not going to get going until 7:30…so there won’t be any time to clean today if I have to spend two hours outside shoveling…at least my boots and gloves keep me warm…more later…

Well…darn, feel so worn out today and I have 6 more inches of snow to shovel and that is depressing the way I feel right now…and I need to get started on the alley and I shouldn’t have to do that at my age…but that’s life right now so I need to just suck it up and do it…went to bed early again last night and didn’t get out of bed until 6:30 or so…and don’t have enough coffee to get me moving so I’ll have to make some pour over…not going to do three rides today since it’s after 7 already and won’t be on the bike til 8 or so and that’s okay…we are under  winter weather advisory until 10am today and I am tired of it…oh, well…I was out for over an hour yesterday and my feet and hands stayed warm and the new boots are breaking in nicely so that is something…I guess it’s hunker down time out here and I need to activate my Michigan toughness where we just take the punches and smile…okay, enough whining….still don’t have to cook today but I will be hunting in the freezer for the Monday meals…haven’t had pasta in a while so that is going to be one of them and maybe some Masala…and I need to make more ham soup to start getting the bones out of the freezer….not much to do today…I am going to clean the bathroom later and I am going to have to make some pour over coffee at some point since I only have one cup left in the coffee maker….more later…

Well…knowing that it was going to snow and stay cold through the rest of January, I thought I’d take the outdoor bike downstairs and put it on the stand since I had some work to do on it…the first thing was mounting the new fenders and after some fiddling around, I got them done and they look okay…very light weight and they will move around some when I hit bumps but they all do that so I’m happy with spending 13 bucks on the pair….they do look cool and add finishing to the bike…nice flat black plastic….we’ll see how long they hold up…and I’ll have to watch it when I get on the bike or I’ll break the rear fender…I did get three rides in this morning and I’m just waiting now for the snow to stop so I can go out and shovel the 5-6 inches we’ve gotten already…and I still wonder how much of the alley I’m going to have to shovel so I can get out to the dr appointment Monday morning…probably all of it from my driveway to 7th street…about 30 yards or so…oh, well…still need to put the new hand grips on the outdoor bike along with wd the whole thing so it will be protected from rust….okay…time to suit up and get shoveling…

Well…running late today with not getting out of bed til 6:23 and having a hard time to get going…I did sleep okay so that is some consolation but that doesn’t stop the fact that I need to get on the bike here in 20 minutes or so so I can get three rides in this morning…my BP is really up this morning with it 137/72 and I wonder if they will up the dosage of the meds on Monday? That is if I can get out of here with the winter storm warning that is on right now…and it’s supposed to snow tomorrow and Sunday, too…crap…oh, well…I do need to get a little work done today with changing out the bedding and then out to shovel the snow that is coming…I wonder if this could be a day where I only do two rides? Yeah, no…I’d just feel guilty the rest of the day and it would dominate my thoughts all day…and the bathroom won’t clean itself so that will be the afternoon project….it’s been over a year since I took a day off and just lived and I don’t know why I just can’t relax anymore…okay, I know…I don’t want to weigh 300 pounds and I will unless I torture myself every day… and burn some calories…damn, only 6 minutes before I need to get on the bike and get going…more later…

Well…took and easy day today with only doing the rides and then out to shovel the couple of inches of snow we got overnight so that gave me time to start another Harlan Coben novel that I’m going back to after this…I do like having leftovers and not have to cook for a few days…but I still only had a bowl of soup and two pieces of pizza today and that will continue until Monday when everything runs out…so I guess I’ll have to plan to take something out of the freezer in the next day or so…this is a little funny…since they were invented, I’ve used shave gels to shave with every morning…but the prices of a can has gone over 4 bucks when they were 2.29 just a year ago…so I picked up a can of Barbasol shave cream to try and it works better than any of the gels…and it’s only 2.59 for a huge can so I guess I’ll use that for a while…and it’s made in the US and says it on the can…I was going to clean some today but just didn’t feel like it…so that makes tomorrow clean the bathroom day if I can get the rides in early enough…okay…I need to take a look in the freezer to start thinking about meal planning…oh, ran across an article on cleaning off the haze on the inside of windshields hat some cars get and they recommended using either alcohol or vinegar mixed 1:1 with water…that was for you , Tom…

Well…damn, I feel so worn out today…like I do every day and I know part of it is only having a bowl of soup and one piece of pizza yesterday…one good thing is I don’t have to cook for the next few days…but I will have to plan meals soon and I need to do more than the 4 meals that I seem to have fallen into…I did remove a skin tag from my left nostril last night and the damn thing bled for 3 hours like it always does…and I have to remove it once a year…damn, it’s only 13 degrees out there right now and it has been cold as heck out here for weeks now…it’s still hunker down time with the cold and the snow we’ve been getting…January in Michigan can test you if you’re not used to it…but after 71 years, I’m used to it…just not in Muskegon…darn, I need to get on the bike here in 26 minutes and I sure don’t want to…I keep whining about taking a day off but I know that won’t happen and I’m not sure why…it would be luxurious to just keep pouring the coffee down and watch old movies all day…not much to do today…I do have to clean the bathroom at some point but need to torture myself on the bike first….more later….

Well…in the hour it took me to go down and get the third ride in, we must have gotten 4 inches of snow out here…and it is still snowing huge flakes like crazy so I’ll be out shoveling in a bit…but I really want to take a rest first since I’ve been moving since I got up this morning…two rides in before 9:30, then built and baked the pizza, back down for the third ride and I just started the laundry…the variety of bird on the feeder changed today with my first pair of cardinals showed up with sparrows, nuthatches, chickadees, bluejays, too damn many doves, and even a downy woodpecker….I did start a new author two days back…Harlan Coben…and I’ve read him before but not this particular novel…and I have another of his that I got two years ago that I never got to so I’ll have stuff to read for a week or so…the doves are amusing the heck out of me right now…6 of them on the feeder/sill right now and it looks like a mosh pit…fun…
