Well…after the sandbagging that the idiot trump and vance did to Zelenskyy at their last meeting at the WH, I’d really love to see them try that again at today’s meeting when all of the EU and UK leaders are going to be there, too…and many of them are there just for that reason…yeah, they will talk about the war but they won’t let idiot boy get away with any bullying…the problem was that Zelenskyy thought he’d be able to have a functioning conversation when he now knows that is impossible with the idiot trump…and idiot boy is not going to be able to lie about the meeting with so many others there…so what’s the point? After the failed meeting with putin where nothing was accomplished, you would think that the idiot would actually prepare for this one and at least try to get things done if only to put a stick in putin’s eye…but after looking like a puppy dog standing there vibrating when putin walked up to him, I guess the best we can hope for is for him to stay awake during the meeting…or maybe it would be better if he did go to sleep…he doesn’t have anything to add anyway…geez…

August 18th
Well…damn, running late already and it’s only 6:40 and that sucks…need to get going by 7 so that means hauling ass from this point forward…didn’t sleep much last night and that is going to hurt later but I’m not sure what I’m going to do today…don’t think it’s going to be warm enough to go to the beach this morning but I do need to go to the library and then to Meijers to pick up a prescription for my BP meds…and do the bike rides…it’s only 63 here right now and I did have to close up the windows since it was a little cool with a breeze blowing through here…and there is a weather change coming with highs in the 70’s for the next week starting tomorrow and I can take a bit of that…the heat and humidity has been wearing me out and I’ve been wearing out the tower fan running it all day…I’m laughing that they have an inch of rain in the forecast for tomorrow and I don’t remember them being so wrong so long…that inch of rain has been forecast for weeks and it never comes…oh, well…need to get going…more later…
Thought I was done…
Well…after getting the bike rides in by 9:30 today, I really thought I was done for the day but no such luck…okay, I really haven’t done that much but I’ve had a steady stream of thing to do…I started by getting the laundry in, then cut up some chicken and got it in a marinade to let it sit overnight and make the tacos tomorrow…then I finished off the bacon with a blt for lunch, put the laundry away, froze the chicken I need for masala later in the week, and cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes…so little tasks that needed to be done and added up to get me to 2:30 before I was really done for the day……now I need to put the trash out since it has piled up in the kitchen and I need to scrub out the trash can and it’s top….oh, and do my weight work…so I better get my butt moving…
Tourism bloodbath…
Well…who’d have thought that antagonizing and attacking your biggest tourism customer would have any effects at all? Okay…trying to funny about a serious topic and it’s not funny at all…after all of the idiot trump’s attacks on Canada, it’s a wonder that anyone comes here from there…visits to Las Vegas from trump’s bullshit tariffs and attacks dropped by over 400,000 year over year in June, a drop of almost 12%…and car crossings into the US from Canada dropped 37% in July and air arrivals dropped 26%…and the trend continues across Europe as trips are down by almost 15%…and every travel agent polled said they are telling people to go anywhere else than the US…which they are doing, costing the US economy over 71 billion dollars in lost revenue from tourists…so far…and it’s not going to get better with idiot boy’s ICE thugs locking up tourists for weeks for the only crime of being a tourist…you know if you tell the world they are not welcome as idiot boy does every day, they are going to stop coming here and it’s only going to get worse as long as the idiot is in charge…geez…
August 17th
Well…damn, I’m getting tired of getting out of bed before 6am every damn day…I spend my days worn out and I’m tired of that, too…slept pretty crappy with getting up a few times and I’m tired of bitching about that, too…I did get out to the beach on a Saturday for the first time in a long time yesterday and it wasn’t bad…not too busy and the water was perfect…so I got a swim in and back here by noon…they have the dredge out again to clear out the channel but they are not putting the sand on the beach this time…they’re just moving it to 100 yards off the beach in a big pile…weird…finished up the last book yesterday so I’ll have a day without reading today and that is going to be really boring…will need to hit the library tomorrow and then Meijers to pick up a prescription and I’ll probably go to the beach again…it’s damn humid here again today and it’s going to close to 90 again…it did rain for about 10 minutes yesterday but most of it missed us and that sucks…need to get on the bike in a few minutes but I want a bagel first…more later…
Of course it’s a failure…
Well…after all of the breathless hype about the “summit” that was supposed to end the war in Ukraine, it turns out that no agreement was reached and putin even blew off idiot boy after the talks were done…leaving before a scheduled “working lunch” since he already heard enough of idiot boy’s blather…and this comes after the idiot embarrassed some active duty soldiers who he ordered onto their knees to unroll the red carpet for the war criminal who never should have been invited to the US…any other president wouldn’t have invited him that’s for sure…and now the spin starts with the idiot saying “it’s up to Ukraine to finish the talks if they want” since he really does think he got an agreement with putin…does this look like day one? Because that’s when the idiot lied he would end the war…and now the US looks like a much smaller country as trump continues to wreck things…what a worthless piece of shit…geez…
August 16th
Well…it’s still damn hot an humid at the early hour that I got up…before 6am and another night of up and down has left me worn out and hoping the coffee will work soon…I did get out to the beach yesterday and had a nice swim but not today or tomorrow since I just don’t go out there on the weekend…it’s supposed to be raining right now but there is nothing on the radar or in the forecast when we were supposed to get an inch of rain today…so I really don’t have to rush to get on the bike…but I will be out before 7am…I do need to cook today and I’m going to make some chicken stir fry but that may wait til later…I found that one of the books I got this week I’ve already read and that means I need to make the last one last until Monday or read something I have on hand…didn’t eat enough yesterday with just a dog and a blt so I’ve already had a toasted bagel with cream cheese to give me enough fuel to get through the two rides…not much to do today…just the rides and maybe some soccer but ManU doesn’t play till tomorrow so I’m not that interested…more later…

Well…with the idiot trump trying to manufacture a “crisis” in DC to try to distract the country from him being all over the Epstein files and the fact that he had sex with underage girls, the idiot sent FBI and National Guard into DC to deal with the delusional “crime” that he continues to lie about even though crime is down 35% over the past 3 years…and just yesterday, he tried to put one of his flunkies in charge of the DC police even though there is no law that would allow that…but the good thing is that the DC government is pushing back on the illegal takeover and has even sued trump and his fluffy AG Pam Bondi (you remember her…she’s the one who took a 30,000 dollar bribe to drop the investigation into trump’s university when she was AG of Florida) because of the lack of authority they have to take over local police departments or local elections…when you couple this with what Newsom is doing to push back against repub gerrymandering in Texas, it appears that the dems are growing spines and it’s about time…geez…
August 15th
Well…damn, I’m exhausted this morning and I’m sure it’s from being up and down all night…and I just poured the first cup of coffee so that’s not going to help for a while…and I really do need to get on the bike before 7 so that gives me 21 minutes to get moving…the humidity is back and I’m sitting here sweating already even though the temp is only 67…I am going to go out to the beach today with summer winding down and there is a sense of urgency to it…another task to be accomplished that should just be fun…oh, well…I’m hoping that my legs will be better today after my right hip just howling at me yesterday but it doesn’t hurt right now so maybe…the heat is going back up to almost 90 until Sunday and then next week we’ll have highs in the 70’s and that will be welcome…still have leftovers for today with a dog and blt but I will have to cook tomorrow…some stir fry chicken I think and maybe just a chicken breast to make sandwiches since I have lettuce and tomatoes…I did make another jar of pickles yesterday and I’ll try it today to see if the 1 1/2 cups of vinegar is the way to go…more later…
A good day…
Well…it was a pretty good day today and I got a beach run in after the successful errand…even went to aldis to get some chicken since they didn’t have the beef I wanted and I needed some new meals to make…so a stir fry this weekend to make some room in the freezer…it was fun out at the beach today with it almost empty and the water as nice as it’s been all summer…stayed in for a half hour and got some color today…the bike rides were tough after all the yard work yesterday but I took it easy this afternoon and I hope the stiffness I felt on the bike will be gone in the morning…and I think I’ll plan on the beach again since we’re quickly running out of summer…I really enjoyed cruising around in the car and I’ve already put 1,000 miles on it…and that’s about the mileage I put on the old car in two years…okay, time for reading…
