Well…damn, just spent a thousand dollars on car insurance for the year and that stings a bit…oh, well…didn’t sleep much last night and I’m feeling it right now…so I need to pour coffee down to be able to get on the bike by 7am and the two rides are the only thing I have planned for today…not sure if I’m going to the beach today but probably…don’t have to cook today but I am going to toast a bagel here in a minute…my thumb has started to heal and doesn’t hurt much but I’ll check it before the rides to see if it will still bleed…it never got under 77 overnight and I’m already sweating with the fan on but it’s not supposed to get to 90 like yesterday and we may have some rain coming tomorrow…yeah, that made me laugh, too…it doesn’t rain here…I should clean the bathroom and kitchen today but I’m not sure if I will or not…doing anything in this humidity is a big chore and I’ll end up soaked from sweat…I am getting tired of everything being damp including me…not much to do today…just need to get moving and toast the bagel so I can get on the bike when it gets light…more later…

A few things done…
Well…with the damn heat, I was going to take the day off after the rides but I did get a few things done…well…two things anyway…did the laundry and made another batch of pasta salad so I’d have a side to go with everything else…the pickles I made came out really good…like a spicy Clausens and I think I now have that recipe figured out, too…going to up the vinegar to 3/4’s of a cup for the next batch to give it a little tang and use tons of the pickling spice since that gives it the bite I like…going to make another batch with the 49 cent cucumbers I got at aldis last week..I don’t think I remember bleeding for an entire day after cutting myself but I can now change the bandage without blood just running out of the cut but I still need to be careful to not use the thumb much until it has a few days to heal…I was able to shift the bike using the side of my thumb with no pain and that’s what I was worried about…okay, time for some trashy tv…
Just another distraction from the Epstein files..
Well…oh, gee here’s another try at distracting the country from the Epstein files that the idiot trump is all over…so now he sets up a “summit” with his pal Putin to be held in Alaska this week where they are supposed to talk bout the war in Ukraine…but, will Ukraine be there? Nope no one from Ukraine was even invited…and idiot boy has been floating the idea that any agreement will give some of Ukraine to Russia…rewarding putin for his genocidal terrorism…of course Ukraine has said that any agreement without including Ukraine is null and void and they will never give up and inch of their territory…so, whats the point? As I said, it’s just another distraction so people don’t keep up pushing to have the unredacted Epstein files released…and since putin is going to be on our territory and we are a signatory to the ICC treaty, he should be arrested and sent to the Hague to be tried for the war crimes he has been charged with for his terrorism in Ukraine…that’s what we should be doing but with idiot boy in office, he will just kiss putin’s ass and take the pat on the head that ole pootie will give him…geez…
August 10th
Well…damn, it looks like it rained a bit overnight and it’s still spitting so the bike rides may be delayed some today…I took a big flap if skin off my right thumb cleaning my new salt shaker/pepper mill yesterday and it bled all day until I used some super glue to close up the wound and I don’t know if I’ll be able to shift the bike with the damage…crap…it was so damn hot yesterday that I could barely move and the heat and humidity is just wearing me out…and today looks about the same and after not sleeping at all last night, I’m worn out…might even go out in the rain this morning since it’s still 75 and I don’t mind riding in the rain…I really do need a rest day after more than 650 days in a row on the bike…but I’m shooting for a full two years and that will be October 19th so I need to keep going…need to figure out meals since I only have one meal of leftovers for today so I might make some pasta salad and dig in the freezer…lots of stuff in there but I really don’t want to think about that right now…more later…
Way too damn hot…
Well…okay, I’ll say it…it’s too damn hot out here today…and to add insult to that, we missed a huge storm that passed us by to the north and I really don’t think it’s ever going to rain here again…it’s 6pm and it’s still 88 degrees out here…so, of course, I didn’t do anything outside today after I got the rides in early…most of the day was sitting on the couch on a towel in front of the fan and reading…I did watch the latest “Jurassic Park” movie last night and it was pretty good with lots of passages that paid homage to Spielberg’s movies…kinda fun…so I’m not sure what the entertainment is going to be for tonight…”Svengoolie” has the very first “Wolfman” movie from 1935 and I can’t remember if I’ve seen it or not…no more reading…
Dems are finally fighting back…
Well…with the Texas repubs illegal redistricting ploy that would add 4 or 5 repub seats and damage the dems chances to take back the house…dems have started to fight back against this election rigging across the country…and the biggest one is going to happen in California where the governor is going to redistrict to offset Texas’s shenanigans….and that would mean repubs would have only 2 of the 52 reps that California sends to the House…the repubs have taken cheating to another level and that means that black and Hispanic citizens will have no representation in Texas and we can’t count on the corrupt SC to do anything about it…so I say go for it, Newsom…offset this cheating in Texas and start to play hardball against these un-American assholes…geez…
August 9th
Well…up too damn early at 5:31 and don’t feel like I’ve slept at all so it will be a grind to get going…but I will as I always do…going to have a bagel before I get on the bike and lots more coffee…not too sore today and I really hope I’ve eaten enough to support it after running out of energy on the second ride yesterday…it only got down to 77 overnight and I can feel the humidity as I sit here pouring the coffee down…didn’t get much done but read yesterday and I have one more day of leftovers so I don’t have to cook today…just got a high wind warning on the widget that is going to be here by noon but I’ll be long done with the rides by then and I’ll have to remember to do the weight work before it gets too hot…Wrexham plays in a few minutes but I won’t be able to watch much of it since I do need to get on the bike…soon there will be soccer on every Saturday and Sunday so that will give me something to have on in the background…not much to do today…just need to get the rides in and then wing it from there…and start a new book…more later…
Nationwide business boycott…
Well…just read about this over on Kos and thought I’d pass it along…there is a nationwide business boycott scheduled for tomorrow August 9th…and I am going to participate no buying anything, no fast food, no shopping on Amazon, no travel, no nothing…I am tired of getting screwed by business as they support the thug in the WH and my part will be small but I will do my part…everyone else should, too…geez…
Still a little sore…
Well…I really did think the pain from the crash yesterday was going to last a few days but it’s already getting better and I may be pain free by Sunday if I stay on this trajectory…fingers crossed…I did go out and get bagels and cream cheese to try in my new toaster and I really like that cheap little thing…nice even toasting and it even has a cancel button on the front that pops it up if you need it to…it is even wide enough to fit a Thomas’s really thick bagel with space left over…so it’s a deal for 15 bucks…I did get out to the beach and got a swim in and that was fun…there were even some waves to play in…still damn hot here at 87 degrees and if this keeps up, I’ll probably wear my tower fan out before summer is over…it only got down to 76 last night and the humidity was in the mid 90’s when I went out for the first ride…I really crashed after the second ride and it took me half hour and eating something to recover from it…so I tried to do better today with the bagel and cream cheese, some chicken casserole, and then breakfast for dinner…and I may have a snack later…and I’m going to switch over to martinis tonight just for a change ans see how that works out…more reading…
Oh, Canada…
Well…just read an interesting article about what Canada is doing to divorce themselves from the US economically and all I can say you go hosers…they have organized boycotts of everything American starting with beer, wine, and spirits and since Canada is our largest trading partner for those goods it is already hurting the industry with the CEO of Jack Daniels calling the boycott “worse than tariffs” and warning of looming losses that will decimate their bottom line…and some Canadian provinces have even banned the sale of American booze…and there are spreading boycotts of American fast foods that are causing the heads of those companies to warn that they may have to close their restaurants if the boycotts become widespread and effective which they appear to be…and the move to shift Canada away from American goods is accelerating since “the US is no longer a stable trading partner…and it’s all due to the idiot trump…and this relationship is gone and we’ll never get it back…I predict bankruptcies of American companies who depend on trade by the end of the year…GM has already lost 3 billion dollars due to the stupid tariffs and the rest of the automakers are going to report the same…this is what happens when you put a moron in charge of the economy…geez…
