Well….it was an okay day yesterday and I had a nice lunch with T so that was cool…did not sleep at all last night and feel it this morning and it was by plan just to see if I could sleep without any aids…and the answer is no….got about 3 hours all night and now I’m coughing again which I don’t get…must be allergies again….there were some dreams that I don’t remember and the bedroom looks like something exploded in there with the pillows strewn across the room and the sheets wadded up in a ball….I think I may try the same thing tonight just to see how I’ll feel in the morning…not much to do today…I do have an errand to run this morning and some work to do around here but that is about it…more later…

No more Ted….
Well…I was going to do one of these on the fact checkers that went over ole Ted Cruz’s speech at Jesus university yesterday but I really don’t need to…there is no parsing of it…it was all lies or half truths that will endear him to the right wing, fact free crowd that vote for asses like him. I can’t understand why he was so giddy about the turnout at the speech, either…the kids that were there were required to be there or be fined by the school….nope…can’t write about this idiot anymore….when I was a kid, this kind of demagogue would have been laughed off the stage just like ole tailgunner Joe McCarthy was after he flamed out…let’s just hope the same thing happens to ole Ted…and now, not later….
March 24th
Well…sitting here waiting for the car to defrost and thought I’d get this one done….what a pain to still have to run the car…I mean, after all it’s almost April…and later in the week there is suppose to be a low of single digits…oh, well….slept okay last night and I was good so I feel okay today…had some dreams that appeared to be stuck in a loop and repeating themselves all night so I’m not sure what that is about….I did wake up without back pain for the first time in a week an d there is no shoulder pain right no so I think I’ll try working out today…probably still won’t ride today since it is not going to warm up much and I just can’t take the cold…not much to do today….may have lunch with T but I’m not sure about that with how busy she is….more later….
Ted Cruz is running…
Well…I’m not sure if I should cheer or just break out the popcorn…Ted Cruz announced he is running for president this morning. I can’t remember anything so surreal as this guy even thinking in his wildest fever dreams that he is qualified to be president….what has he ever done other than shut down the government? As his comments last week show, he doesn’t even understand how the internet works, or accept that the world is getting warmer…or believe in evolution, or know what common core is…or believes that a woman should have control over her own body. With his crazy antics in the senate where he has alienated everyone but the hard core tea party folks, where does his base come from? Where does he get the 51% he would need to get elected in the general? With the general consensus from almost all of the people that have met him that he just a just a huge asshole, this has to be his ego talking…or he is already tired of being a senator and wants to get the grift started just like the quitter from Wassila….whatever the reasons, it is going to be a lot of fun to watch…and it will give me things to write about again….yay….
March 23rd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…way too much sports on tv that I wanted to see and most of it came out the way I wanted…Man U won, State won, and Brad K won the race…probably should have bet on some of them…..slept okay and had some strange dreams that I don’t remember and that’s okay…still hurt everywhere and I may need to take another day off the bike to heal up…it is darn cold out there and I hate it….we’ll see…not much to do today….have some cleaning to do and may wash the car since it is so dirty after the cleaned the lots here….more later….
March 22nd
Well….it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…did get the bike ride in but today is too darn cold to go out before Man U starts at 10 so I think I’ll take the day off….slept okay but feel pretty worn out today so I guess it will be a lumpy one for me….I did cook the pork roast yesterday so I don;t have to cook today and that is a good thing…right now, I’m just not in the mood to do anything and it’s early enough so I don’t have to…my shoulder still hurts today so I’ll have to take some more ibuprofen to get the swelling in the tendon down…and my wrists hurt like crazy from riding the bike so I guess I should do that now…not much to do today…not thinking much past the Man U game…more later…
Still no politics…
Well….I have been thinking and thinking about a political one to do with absolutely no luck…how can you maintain outrage when everything that the right does is outrageous? There was on thing from Wisconsin where a federal court stuck down the “admitting privileges” crap law that did nothing for the safety of women…just another attempt to limit their healthcare choices…I wonder when women are going to get tired of a bunch of guys telling them what they can and can’t do with their own bodies? What else? Let me go look at a few news websites to see if there is anything going on….oh, more from Wisconsin…the repubs in charge there want to repeal a law that says the employers have to give workers a day off every week…the law was in response to employers forcing their workers to work months at a time without a day off for rest…but the repubs, who hate everyone who is not an owner…just don’t give a damm…they won’t ever be in those conditions again so they think everyone else that is just not important…and their big donors have been pushing for more ways to abuse their workers for a long time now….is there any question why I just hate the repubs? geez….
March 21st
Well….it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool so that was cool…slept okay last night and had some undefined dreams that I don’t remember so they must not have been too good…feel okay this morning but like I’m in a lower gear and I think I’m going to revel in that for a while….I do have to work on the bike before I go out today but I think I’ll wait a while for the temp to come up….I really don’t like riding with the full thermasuit but the weather is not cooperating…I mean only one day over 60 in all of March? Oh, well….not much to do today…I do have a big pork roast to cook today but that is about it….soccer, too…but not much else…more later…
March 20th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get a few things done….slept okay last night but feel a little crappy since I was not good and I’m not sure I like it that much….the shoulder is hurting again today and I need to take some ibuprofen for it so I can play pool today….can barely lift it again and I’m not sure why…didn’t do anything that would irritate the tendon and I am hoping that it is not the normal spring thing where the tendonitis moves around to different joints…the last one was the elbow thing that lasted all summer….not much to do today…need to get a bike ride in but with how brutal yesterday’s was, I am not that enthused about it….have never gotten shin splints from riding before but I did yesterday…and huge cramps in my feet, too…stopped running just for those reasons…more later…
Music in advertising…
Well…I have talked to Tom about this before but I had to get it down here since it is something that I am a little amazed about…and that is the use of certain kind of songs in advertising….the first time this struck me was a Ford ad that used a Deep Purple song “‘On the highway stoned”…now I wonder if anyone listened to that before the made the ad…and they even left the lyrics in that one that you could hear plainly playing as the cars were driving across the screen…probably not the message that they wanted to convey. Then, I just heard a shoe company using “Who are you?” by the Who which is about a drunken night where the lyrics talk about passing out in a Soho doorway and getting in a drunken brawl….and now I will always connect drinking with that shoe company….and the last one that just came on is the use of the Who’s “Eminence Front” as the background for a GMC commercial when the song is about how people are getting screwed and used by the institutions and people that they believed in…maybe that one is appropo for GM…not sure….geez…
