Well…I was a little groggy last night when I heard this wonderful bit of news and it really didn’t sink in until this morning…one of the “brains’ of the repub party got his butt kicked in a primary yesterday and will be out of the house in a few months…I am laughing, and laughing since this smug little shit was the face behind the whold idea of cutting SS and Medicare to pay for the deficits that the repubs ran on purpose to destroy the hated social programs that benefit anyone but the rich. Now, he is gone…supposedly not conservative enough for his party anymore…a party who thinks that anyone who doesn’t hate gays enough, who doesn’t hate women enough, who doesn’t hate voters enough has to go…but, the one concerning thing about this goodness is that the one replacing him is just batshit insane…who thinks that SS and medicare payouts should be cut by 75% and that the only economy that has ever worked is one that uses christian principles instead of economics….and who can’t even put together a simple answer to whether he supports the minimum wage…this might not be good…geez…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done again…slept okay but had dreams about poppies and traveling all night that kind of tired me out…and getting up at 5 doesn’t help…it’s going to be another one of those low energy days that I am just going to survive…I have run out of groceries so I do need to make that run today and, with the rain, it looks like I’m going to take the day off the bike to try to rest the back for a day and get rid of the pain…I did go out to have a couple with G last night but I think that is going to end…it is just too much work and not a lot of fun anymore…more later…
Republicans are just evil…
Well…I’m not sure how many times I’ve said this over the years but, from their behavior, repubs are just evil, evil people who only care about ideology, not about the people they are supposed to work for. The latest example comes from Virginia, where the dem governor there is trying to get almost 400,000 people without health insurance covered under the Medicaid expansion from Obamacare, but the repubs are doing everything including bribing a dem senator to quit his job so the repubs will control the senate and block the expansion. Yep, you heard that right…this traitor dem tried to trade his senate seat for a place on some tobacco board and for his daughter getting a judgeship…bribery, plain and simple…but the thing that just galls me here is that selfishness of this guy…to trade the health and welfare of all of those Virginians and allowing some of them to die just so he can take care of his family. What about the rest of Virginia’s families, senator? Just ugly republican double dealing just like they have done everywhere they have taken power…and they continue to be returned to power by the very people they are saying “screw you” to…geez…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get a few things done…made a little cash, too, so I can buy groceries this week and have a little money for newspapers…slept pretty crappy again, and now I am nostalgic for the few days that I did sleep…but, that’s just how it goes and I should be used to it by now…was good again last night and I hope that will lead to feeling good today but I was under on calories again so it looks set up to run out of energy before noon…oh, well…not much to do today…C is coming into town so I may have a couple with him before the concert he is here to see but that is about it…and a few things to do around here…more later…
A good guy with a gun didn’t stop the bad guy…
Well…it seems like every day there is a new story about a shooting here in the US and the refrain from the NRA folks is always “we need more guns since a good guy with a gun is the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun” but that nonsense was blown up with the shootings in Vegas last week. The criminals that shot the two officers there last week and then went into a Walmart to continue killing people were confronted by a “good guy with a gun” and they shot him dead…since the good guy didn’t have tactical training..or any training for that matter…just the rubber stamp that allows people to conceal carry across the country, the puffed up craziness that comes with a lot of these folks kicked in and he thought he was going to be a hero…not so much. I am just so tired of the gun nuts here in the US making everyday life much less safe than it was when I was growing up…geez…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t do much but watch races and veg….and, with cocktails last night, I am in low and slow mode today…even my brain is in that mode and I can’t think very well…I did see a Mythbusters that was a little strange yesterday..they wrecked 3 A version Miatas and that just shouldn’t happen…although, they were all automatics and no Miata should have an automatic in it…I do have lots of stuff to do today and I’m not sure if I am going to do any of it….after the workout and bike ride I may be in a better mood for work but I may need to just make this a lost day….more later…

Well…with the release of the new carbon regulations from the EPA this past week, the right wing lie machine has kicked into high gear again…spewing the same tired, old crap they always do…that regulations cost jobs, money, etc. etc….but the problem is that they have been saying this since the 60’s and they have been wrong every time…yep, every time…here are a few examples:
In 1990, the WSJ editorial board said the Clean Air Act amendment would threaten the economic expansion…but, the result was the best economy the country has ever seen…
Again in 1990, Mobil Oil officials testified that the new cleaner gasoline standards would cause major supply disruptions…didn’t happen.
The National Assoc of Manufacturers in 1987 said that new regs to reduce acid rain would cost millions of jobs and contract the economy…didn’t happen…
Henry Ford II said that the new seat belt and safety glass rules would force Ford out of business…can you still buy a Ford? Yep…
So, the next time you hear the same old crap about lost jobs and a failing economy that will come from protecting the health and safety of Americans, just remember that these folks lie…and they have never been right….geez…
Just catching up…almost…
Well…I have been trying to find a topic that will fire up my outrage today, but still no luck so I think I’ll just noodle a little and see what happens…have been watching the races this aft with nothing getting accomplished and I don’t feel bad about it…had a nice bike ride this morning but am sore from it…may have to take a day off to try to get the legs restored…but, there is a back component on my right side that is causing me some problems in my hip, too, so maybe I will have to rest it…I am up to almost 700 miles already and am heading to 20K in the next month or so so that will be cool when that happens…I did something cool with the car on Friday on the way out to pool…slid the rear of it in the dry and it was just so cool….now I know how fast I can take one turn anyway….have to make sure to not do that much..don’t want to use up the tires…okay…back to the races…maybe more later…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t do much but get the bike ride in and clean a little…and, another night of not sleeping so it will be a low key day….not even going to cook today since I have leftovers and burgers to make…there are some races on today that may keep me entertained for a while but boredom looks like the order of the day….I could clean, I guess, but just don’t have the motivation right now…maybe later…might get out to have a couple with K and K later but that will be the day…I really do need to figure out more things to do…more later…
Why does anyone listen to Ollie North?
Well…I am just flabbergasted how the right keeps rolling out it’s war criminals and convicted felons to criticize everything Obama does…this pattern continues with the criticisms of ole Ollie North on the trade for the last POW in Afghanistan…you remember ole Ollie…the multi-felon who was convicted of selling weapons to Iran to finance right wing death squads in Nicaragua, and then lying his ass off in front of Congress when questioned about it. Exactly how does committing treason qualify you to criticize the current administration? I know, first amendment and all that and I support everyone’s right to spout out on any subject…but the right just has no shame…they have been wrong about everything for the past 30 years…anyone else would have just retired to private life but, on the right, being wrong just makes you more and more money since they have convinced the rubes that it is all a plot by the “librul media” and that they were right all along…what a bunch of crap…geez…
