Well…as you know, the idiot repubs in Texas have been pandering to their rabid tea party supporters by pushing more and more illegal restrictions on womens rights culminating in the new, draconian restrictions on abortion that more that 65% of the people there (even repubs) do not want enacted. So, what is this about? It’s about control of women and their health…but this is not the first thing they have done…just this year, these same idiots slashed funding for family planning and other health services by almost 70%, making this necessary health care almost impossible to get if you are poor in Texas. But, this affected even more than the poor since Texas has the highest rate of uninsured people of any state…and you can see how much they just don’t give a damn about the people of Texas by the added rejection of the Medicaid expansion which will actually COST Texas billions of dollars in uncovered care that will happen in the emergency rooms across the state. All I can think of with this crap going on is these repubs are just not too bright, especially since an identical law has been thrown out in Wisconsin and is on the way to be deemed unconstitutional in at least three other states. I just can’t believe these guys are just standing around, waving the constitution and then spend all of their days passing laws that are unconstitutional that will cost their states millions in legal fees…I guess enriching your lawyer buddies is more important to them that spending those millions feeding people or providing healthcare….geez…

Well…it was a long day with lots of traveling in it yesterday but the car was flawless…have to remember to use the sunscreen more since I have a pretty good burn from being in the car for 4 hours….but the dad stuff was successful so that’s a good thing…and got a surprise over there that I am going to have the second one engaged next Friday….I am pretty happy that the kids are all moving on in their lives…makes me smile…slept okay last night and had Miata repair dreams in the early morning that were okay…I did remember the old balled up newspaper trick to get the glass clean in the car and it worked pretty well so I am happy with that….not much to do today….and that one’s true…just the bike ride and cleaning…need to eat more today since I didn’t get to 1,000 cals yesterday and I am going to feel it today….more later

Well…running late again today and there is no reason for it other than I’m just running late today…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get the car cleaned but have to do the windows again…have never had a car that it is so hard to get the film off the windows…and I do need to get it done now since I have to run over to the other side of the state today….no pool today but have some dad responsibilities to take care of…so, I’d better get the bike ride in and get started…want to be over there by noon or so…more later…
Idiots in charge…
Well…I had to laugh today when the governors of two of the hurricane prone states finally figured out the the austerity that they just love, along with the rest of the idiot repubs, is going to limit the preparations for hurricanes that the federal government can fund. The genius in Florida, Rick Scott, is now whining and crying that his national guard doesn’t have the money to train for disasters anymore so he and Bobby Jindal, another repub genius, are teaming up with a bunch of other repub governors to send a letter to Obama asking him to give them money so they don’t have to pay for them on their own. First, these guys just don’t have any idea who is responsible for legislation in the federal government…it is the repub controlled house you idiots…Obama can’t just appropriate money, that is the job of the house…so, if you really want to get things done instead of grandstanding and doing the only thing that repubs want to do, attack Obama, talk to your tea party buddies in the house and get them to end the sequester….geez…

Well…sitting here waiting for the coffee to finish so I thought I’d get this done…it was an okay day yesterday and it was fun to get out to have a couple with G…other than that, it was just another boring day here in unemployment land…only four more days until the big one and I have been thinking of doing kind of a countdown thing here…not sure what form that would take but I guess that’s my job to figure it out…slept okay but stayed up late and with the cocktails, I’m running a little slow today…I do need to wash the car but that is about it…no food to cook since I have leftovers…yep, a really, really boring kind of day coming up…more later…
A surprise for the gun nuts in Kansas…
Well…I guess they never saw this one coming…after the repub Kansas legislature passed a new law that would allow teachers to carry guns in their classrooms, the insurance company that writes 90% of the insurance for Kansas schools said they will not cover any school where the teachers carry guns…citing study after study that you are much more likely to get shot by someone that you know or a family member than you are by a stranger…I can only speculate that the insurance company thinks facts trump ideology…something you never have to worry about with the repubs….oh, and the other companies that cover the remaining 10% said exactly the same thing…no guns or no coverage….wonder what the repubs will do now? Embrace big government socialism and self-insure? Can these folks get any more stupid? Geez…

Well…it has been a slow, slow day for me so far and I think I may have popped something on the bike ride today…got a stabbing pain in my abdomen after a sprint that is still with me…oh, well…as the title says, I am not sure about this one….but, I thought I’d just get started and see what happens…there was some good news for womens rights in Wisconsin this week when a federal court judge stopped part of the new, draconian abortion law there from going into effect…and the good thing was the grounds he stopped it…the judge said that the part of the new law that mandated admitting privileges for the doctors performing abortions did nothing to improve the safety for women so he struck it down….now, I just hope that the ACLU and other organizations fighting for womens rights keep bringing suits on the same grounds….there is no medical need for a women to have an ultrasound before an abortion so i think it would be the next point of attack…and then strike down the lies that the legislators in Kansas have written into their law…we can only hope that when the people in the states that are attacking women get the bill for their folly, they will finally throw these idiots out…geez…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I made it into a cocktail night in early celebration of the big 6-0 coming next week so I don’t feel as good as I did yesterday…and the heat is already almost too much and is going to make the bike ride a little iffy this morning…came back yesterday soaked from head to toe and ran out of water before the last stop…will have to figure that out today…slept okay last night but that’s about it…didn’t get much accomplished yesterday…but I am going to go out today and try to find some black raspberries to pick for my one splurge in food…vanilla ice cream with the berries is a birthday tradition that I have observed since I was about 5 and want it to continue….more later…
Craziness?
Well…it’s 3:16 and I still can’t think about anything to comment on for the day…at least political stuff and that is starting to get frustrating…again…I have been reading about the repub craziness that has been spreading across the country…what is it about them that allows them to say any damn thing they want without any regard for whether it is the truth or not? We have ole Michelle Bachmann today saying that Obama wants Obamacare implemented so it will increase his personal power and control over the economy…now let’s do a little math…the latest change that will allow companies another year before they have to start paying fines or offering coverage is now set to take effect at the end of 2015..a year before Obama leaves office…so exactly what power does this change confer on him? Is he going to take over the insurance companies after he leaves office? Craziness, craziness…
Then, we have ole Mike Huckabee comparing womens rights to control their body to slavery…and since we eliminated slavery on moral grounds…then, we must eliminate abortion on those same moral grounds…yep, not making this up..this could even be a plan…to drive the crazy so far out that when they pull back to only delusional it will seem reasonable…I think it is our responsibility as being the reasonable party to make sure that even when this happens, to make sure they don’t get a pass on the crazy like the media is allowing right now….geez….
July 9th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did accomplish a few things but not enough….and I was good for another day so I feel okay this morning…slept okay, too, but I am sore for some reason….have to get some ibuprofen since I am again chasing the tendonitus from joint to joint just like last summer….and now it is in all four major joints and that is a pain…I do need to do the grocery run today since I am out of everything and I do like to eat…well, need to eat…not sure how much I like it anymore…nothing really tastes good to me so I guess I’m back to thinking of food as just fuel…maybe if I change it up and try some new stuff that will change…who knows? Not much to do today…and that is the truth…want to wash the car but it looks like rain again so that may have to wait….
