Well…I know that things have not been too topical around here lately and one of the reasons is the whole being broke thing is weighing on me so heavily that I am out of sorts most of the time and my brain is just not working as it has and should…and I haven’t figured a way to get past it as yet….there is also the whole not celebrating the holiday thing, too that makes me feel like an outsider at times and I just want them to be over…the ads for all of the stuff that I can’t purchase because I’m broke is another reason that is weighing on me…and the whole “no one wants me” thing that comes from putting out hundreds of resumes with no bites is starting to create this perfect storm of creativity destruction that is confusing to me and I’m not sure of the methods to counteract it right now…okay…I’ll stop whining and get on with it…maybe not today, but tomorrow for sure….I think the air has gotten heavier…at least it feels that way….

Well…waiting for the coffee to finish so I thought I’d get an early start on this one…it was an okay day yesterday with getting the chance to hang out with T for a while and have some fun…but that was about it for the entire day but that’s how it goes when you are broke…and that’s okay, too, I’ll live through it….I did dream last night…weird ones where people were stealing everything I own…and doing it blatantly…not sure what that was about but it was quite strange….not much to do today…one of my sons is coming over to show me his new car so I have to clean up around here a little….but, right now, I’m going to go get some coffee and read the papers…
One thing I forgot…T got me a Christmas present and I was just so surprised…some really cool hand made French soap…you have to know her to understand that…but a really great thought…
Now we can move forward…
Well…after the debacle of Boehner’s defeat last night, now we can move forward with marginalizing the crazy assed right wingers in the House….and get a bill that the progressives can support. But, the problems there is we need to find around 20 reasonable repubs (I know, that is the ultimate oxymoron) to come with us for the good of the country…not just the 1%’ers that are still pulling the puppet strings for most of the repubs…but, one of the things we must do, or what Obama must do, is to take the SS nonsense off the table to get the dem caucus behind him…and then let Pelosi do her work to construct a bill that doesn’t compromise progressive principles. Look, you know the repubs don’t want to govern anyway when ole Boehner says “it’s up to the pres and the Senate now…” abdicating any responsibility to look after the well being of the country or its citizens…going over the cliff is going to be a fun ride….
December 21st
Well…it was a day yesterday and I didn’t get much accomplished but that is getting to be quite normal…feel pretty crappy this morning and the allergies are still causing some of it…I did get to see K’s baby and hang out with them for a while and that was fun…slept pretty crappy last night, though, since I forgot the melatonin…and there were no dreams to speak of…I do get to see T this aft and hang out for a couple of drinks so that will be fun….okay, this is not flowing at all so I’m going to stop here and come back later…
Okay…feeling a bit restored after the coffee and papers but that is being counteracted by the snow falling outside and the realization that the Miata is not going to be the best car in the snow…I almost spun it yesterday getting on the e-way and it was just wet…I think my skills with rear wheel drive need to be resurrected and honed….we’ll see how bad it is when I go out later today….not much else to do today…I do have to get this place cleaned up a little since my son is coming over tomorrow to show me his new car and I have been a little lax lately…
Let “Plan B” go down the toilet….
Well….I have been getting easily sidetracked over the past few days and that is why this one is so late…but, I do need to talk about ole Boehner’s “Plan B” proposal and the absolute nonsense it contains…along with the minimal tax increase on the rich…his plan will cost the poor and middle class around 1,500-2,000 dollars a year in higher taxes…but, here’s the kicker, it will cut medicaid, SS, medicare, meals on wheels, food stamps and almost every other program that the middle class and working poor depend on to make their lives livable…and he had to include this stuff to get the rest of the repubs in the house to go along. This, to me, is the clearest example of who the repubs have become…protect the rich and corporations at all costs while they say go to hell to everyone else….Obama should stop “negotiating” with these thugs and just let the country go over the cliff…but then let the people know what this “Plan B” includes…it will continue to shrink their base to the point that in two years, they will be a fringe party in reality and we can start re-making the country in the image of those who care about good governance and all of the people who live here…and what is left of the repubs can go back to hell where they came from…geez…
December 20th
Well…it was a long day yesterday but I won at pool finally, so that was cool…but it was also a cocktail night so I feel a little slow this morning…I did have a bad dream last night that the Miata got wrecked by someone’s stupidity and that was not a good thing…but, in reality, it is running just like a new car so I guess I should live in reality…as much as I can anyway…the coffee is done and the papers are huge today so I am going to get to them and try to get the energy up….
Okay…I did have coffee and even went out to get my hair cut…I had a coupon that saved me 5 bucks that was expiring so I thought I’d get that done…I do like the way the car drives on the snowies…even in the rain it is much, much better…and it looks like I will be able to see how it works in the snow tomorrow when the rain changes over later in the day since I may be meeting up with T for drinks in the aft…okay…need to read the online papers to get some topics and my last cup of coffee is getting cold so I need to go…more later…
Snyder is still an idiot…
Well…it is with some satisfaction that I have been following the plunge in approval ratings of the idiot Snyder here in Michigan and I’m even more heartened with the same happening to the ratings of all repubs here….ole Snyder’s have fallen 28 points in the past two weeks after he screwed the people of Michigan with his stealth approval of right to work here…I have one question for him…if every state is right to work, where is the competitive advantage he is touting? As always, the repubs are leading the race to the bottom for workers while they continue to protect their rich donors….but, this time I think that they miscalculated and we will take back the entire state from them in the next election…we will be motivated and have the boots on the ground with issues that the people approve of…not just the money of the Koch’s and DeVoses….and one thing we have to remember is that all of this lame duck crap they have pulled can be reversed if we take back the legislature…including the 1.7 billion dollar giveaway to business financed on the back of the middle class and retirees….geez…
December 19th
Well…running late today since I did a grocery run and have been talking to T and one of my sons who is buying a new car….I do feel okay today with no cocktail nights since Saturday but I do still need to work out and get a bike ride in after the fog lifts…still haven’t had my coffee or papers yet so I do need to get to that, too….not much to do today…may have pool with Tom but that is about it…and more resumes, of course, but, right now the coffee is getting cold and I do need the news for topics…
Okay….I’ve been have trouble thinking about things to write lately and you can kind of understand it if you’ve ever tried to do this…after all, there have been over 2,000 of these of the past few years and how interesting can the life of an old guy be? It’s still interesting to me, sometimes, but other times, I just want to sleep all day so the days are over with quickly…there was something cool on the trail yesterday…someone had hung a christmas ornament on a tree along the trail and the tiny little splash of color really stood out and made me laugh…I mean, who thinks to do something like that? I guess it doesn’t take much to make me happy….I am working on topics for later but that is a struggle lately so I really can’t promise anything…
Obama is disappointing me…
Well…with the news coming out of Washington today, all I can say is if the rumors are true, I am so disappointed in Obama that I don’t know what to say…it appears that he is going back on his promises to raise taxes on the rich and not cut benefits to the rest of us…the latest is that he has even allowed SS to be cut when it has absolutely nothing to do with the fiscal nonsense that is going on. At least Dick Durbin has come out and said that that kind of crap won’t get through the senate so at least there is one person in Washington who is looking out for the middle class and there needs to be more…I’m talking to you Harry Reid, it is in your power to make sure that Obama does not cave in to the repubs and if he doesn’t have the guts, you have to have them….geez…
December 18th
Well…it was a busy day yesterday and I did get a bunch of stuff done so that was okay…and I was good last night so I feel okay today…and it looks like a busy day again around here with some work to get done….I just realized I didn’t come back for a second one so that means two more for today but, as always, I have no clue what the topics will be…I did get three resumes out yesterday and hope to get a few more out today….it would sure be cool to get a bite and find a job….but, I still do need to have coffee and we are getting to that point…going to have to use change to buy the papers today since I have no cash at all in my pocket….which is kind of weird….but I will probably live through it…more later….
Okay….just a short update…one of the guys that work here just brought me a grill that had been abandoned by a tenant that had moved out….can’t be much more than a year old and is in great shape…just need to clean it up a bit…he is even bringing me a big tank for it tomorrow….doesn’t take much to make me happy…
