Well…some people were holding their breath about Joe Biden’s press conference and worried that the sick guy that botched the debate would show up instead of one of the best presidents in my lifetime…they didn’t have to worry…Joe knocked it out of the park…of course Joe was Joe and had a couple times where he misspoke but the depth of his policy knowledge shows that that 81 year old still has the chops to be president…now I want them to ask the idiot trump the same questions in the same format…10 reporters throwing out questions…no teleprompters, no nothing but the addled brain of trump…there is no possible way he knows what Joe knows…and let’s remember one thing…throughout his career, Joe has been gaffe prone…the difference now is that the major media is owned by right wing billionaires who want trump back in office and attacking Joe’s age and capabilities is the best way for them to help trump…so that’s what they are doing…geez…

July 12th
Well…damn, have been having trouble with the laptop this morning and just got the damn thing to start after working on it for 15 minutes…so that makes me late for getting on the bike and it’s a good thing it’s going to be an easy day today since I worked my butt off yesterday…need to get on the bike by 7:30 and then a shower and an errand since I forgot a few things that I need to cook the meals I have planned for the weekend…was so darn sore last night but feel okay this morning and the pain was in new places and that is concerning…worked way too hard yesterday but I don’t have a lot to do today…I am going to remove the dying peas from the garden and plant another set of seeds under the trellis so maybe I’ll get more of them before the end of the summer…I may even go to the beach today sine it’s going to be in the 80’s by the time I get the rides and errand done…don’t have to cook today with chicken legs and chicken masala leftovers but I do want to make some chicken tacos Sunday so I’ll have to take the thighs out of the freezer today…going to take it easy today but I still do need to get moving right now….more later…
A nine hour day…
Well… with just getting done with the weight work for the day at a little after 4 that started at 7am, I put in a 9 hour day today…damn, that was a lot of work…started with 3 rides that finished up a little after 10, I got right at the yard work with a weed walk and followed that up with mowing the lawn since it was supposed to rain the next two days but the forecast changed and now it’s not supposed to rain til Sunday so I’ll have to keep the patches that I seeded watered for a couple of days…then I put a load of laundry in and had lunch and followed that up with making a batch of chicken masala, taking care of the clean clothes, and doing my weight work…I guess I’ll have an easy day tomorrow with all the work done today..I had a skunk in my yard when I went out for the first ride and it looked like he was eating the fruit that has fallen off the mulberry tree…pretty cool…now it’s time to get my teeth done for the third time today and try to get some reading in before I start my evening…

Well…we all know that clarence thomas is the most corrupt SC justice in history, but in an article on the Daily Beast his corruption is far, far worse than anyone knew…this latest bombshell is about a trip that a billionaire paid for that sent thomas to putin’s hometown and then a helicopter ride to one of putin’s estates…hmmm…I wonder what they talked about…and thomas never revealed it as required or paid income taxes on the gift which is a felony..but he’ll get away with it when he “updates” his financial disclosures…just as he has forever…but now there is a twist when AOC filed impeachment charges against both thomas and alito yesterday and that should stir some kind of investigation into the corruption of both of them to go with the letter two senators sent to Garland asking for a special counsel to investigate those two…maybe something will happen this time…ha,ha…yeah that made me laugh, too…geez…
july 11th
Well…the compression socks seem to be working and the swelling in my right calf/foot has gone down quite a bit but I am going to keep the socks on for a couple of days…cut back on my salt intake, too, so that should help…had a nice rain when I was grilling yesterday and my alley turned into a small river while it was going on…it feels good to have emby working again and that is one less thing to think about…going to get on the bike by 7 this morning to get three rides in by 10:30 or so and then I need to do the weed walk since I have some big patches of crab grass I want to get rid of…didn’t get much done yesterday other than grilling but I do need to clean the bathroom at some point…and make chicken masala since I thawed the chicken and need to get it cooked…I picked a jalapeno from the garden that I want to use in the chicken tacos I’m going to make over the weekend to add a little heat to them…looks like no wind out there and that will be welcome…it’s only 61 out there but that warm enough to go out in a long sleeved t-shirt…I still refuse to wear a fleece…not much to do today…just the rides and weed walk and that will leave me the afternoon to cook and clean…and watch the TDF…more later…
Emby is back!
Well…with the England/Netherlands semi final match getting close, I decided to give emby another try and I figured it out! So now I’m watching the match and it is so damn cool…I really missed being able to see the TDF this morning but things are back to normal…I really don’t like change much and now I’ll be able to see the Olympics later in the month…I was really depressed at the prospect of losing my sports that keep me entertained…so now all is right with the world…except my right calf and foot are really swollen up today and I am wearing compression socks to see if it helps…and I’ll keep doing that at least at night along with no salty foods…have had too many pretzels lately and I’ll stop that…I did get out to DD to get some black forest ham for 3 bucks a pound…and splurged on some roast beef at 2 bucks for a half pound…going to grill some chicken legs and pork chops at halftime…and that will last me the rest of the week along with some chicken masala that I’ll make tomorrow…okay, back to the game…
It’s about time…
Well…finally…it was revealed yesterday that two senior dem senators have sent a letter Merrick Garland asking him to assign a special prosecutor to investigate the most corrupt SC justice in history, Clarence Thomas, for ethic violations and outright criminality by taking bribes from billionaire repubs…and those billionaires all had cases in front of the SC and thomas didn’t recuse himself as the SC rules say he should…oh, and let’s add in tax fraud since a loan of 247,000 dollars for a motor home was forgiven and that makes it income that thomas never reported…it’s about damn time that someone do something about this corrupt court…and the billionaire donors should be shaking in their boots, too, since a special prosecutor can follow the money trail wherever it leads and it may lead to a RICO charge if these corrupt actions were taken for a shared illegal purpose…and Garland better approve this one if he wants to have any chance to protect the rule of law…geez…
July 10th
Well…damn, up at 4:54 this morning and I’ve lost emby and all of the live sports that have kept me amused for years…and that sucks…going to be bored silly without soccer and the Olympics and races…oh, well…it’s finally raining out here and we really need it…my lawn has been filling in for some reason even without rain or seeding it…after I killed the weeds it has been getting greener all on it’s own…but the garden is dying and I can’t figure that out…going to try one more year next year with doing it in containers and new soil…so I’ll let the grass grow back in….what a weird year…I did get out to the beach yesterday and got a nice swim in but won’t be out there today with the rain that is going to last all morning…so I’ll be on the indoor bike here in a few minutes…need to figure out a new tv show to watch on freevee….need to make a run out to DD today to get some black forest ham for 2.99 a pound and maybe some sliced roast beef and pastrami…not much to do today…just going to be depressed today and try to build a new routine…more later…
Two things…
Well…with all of the ridiculous bleating on the right and left that Joe should step down from the presidential race because they don’t think he can do the job…I have a question…what the hell is he doing right now if it’s not the job of being president? Hosting a NATO summit this week, meeting with congress, and all of the rest…do you see him taking “executive time” like the idiot trump did every day and not even doing anything until after noon? Geez people…shut the hell up about Joe not being able to be president…I’m supporting him right til the end of his next term…second, I think a great new ad would be to take a few of the worst promises of the 2025 project and the on a split screen put up the dem policy that would show how greedy and mean the repubs want to get…no rights for anyone but straight, white, christians…and that doesn’t sell well with the public…I think exposing this repub manifesto is the most important thing we can do to ensure a blue wave this fall…geez…
July 9th
Well…damn, I’m worn out…again…and I wonder how I’m going to get on the bike in 17 minutes…going to do all the rides outdoors today so I’m just waiting for it to get light…had an okay yesterday but didn’t get much done but I am going to work on he exterior door frames today…and I’m doing the grocery runs since there are things I need to be able to cook today…it was a struggle to get enough calories down yesterday so I need to plan better so I don’t get my blood sugar too low…close yesterday…I couldn’t believe how sore I was yesterday and I’m going to make that worse today with 38 miles to come…I really do hope it rains today since my lawn has started to recover from the storms earlier…man, I’m not very lucid this morning and this is harder than it looks…I have almost given up on the garden this year with almost every plant starting to look distressed…I do have a few cukes on the vine but all of my pea plants are dying and the tomatoes look crappy so next year I’m going to do something different…probably put them in containers or make a raised bed with fresh soil…okay, need to get on the bike right now but I sure don’t want to…more later…
