Well…damn, emby reset again last night and I lost all of the sports channels I watch so no formula 1 today or indycar or nascar….and that sucks…so I’m in a pretty crappy mood this morning…had an okay day yesterday and got a little work done but I don’t feel like doing anything today…I am going to get out on the bike since the F1 race is on at nine and I can’t see it…crap…the damn fireworks are starting out here and I can’t wait for that to be over…I do need to do a practice run for the video meeting Monday to make sure everything is working….it was supposed to rain all night and today but nothing so I’ll get out on the bike soon….life is going to be a bore without my sports channels….took some burger out of the freezer so I can have a second meal today but I’m not sure if I’ll cook it today…had the first beans out of my garden yesterday and they were great but not a lot of them and they are small this year…man, this year is disappointing….not much to do today…and that is true with no sports…crap, again….more later

Legislating from the bench…
Well…this supreme court has to go…it is so corrupt that the right wingers on it are legislating from the bench to get what their repub cronies can’t get through legislation since the ideas are so despised…just yesterday, the right wing 6 decided that it is perfectly fine for people to discriminate against the LGBTQ citizens of this country…and it was done with a fake case that is full of lies and perjury…essentially a woman in Colorado said that she wanted to start a business making websites for straight people but the law made her cater to anyone…but the thing is she never had that business and still doesn’t and it’s 7 years later…and the supposedly gay person that she said asked her to make the website never heard of her…and it turns out that she lied about that in court filings since the person is a straight married man who lives in San Francisco….but that didn’t matter to the right wing 6…they took the case anyway since it would allow them to make it legal to discriminate against the LGBTQ people and anyone else…black, latino, Muslims? Yep, it’s now legal for someone to shout christian and they can get away with any type of discrimination…how much more corrupt can the SC get when they are now not following any rules? I guess we’ll see…geez…
July 1st
Well…running late this morning and have to get off my butt and get the rides in before 10:25 when the F1 sprint race comes on…had some weird dreams last night where I was working again and had a presentation to do and had no clue what it was supposed to be about…got a lot done and made my first pizza in the grill and it came out okay but takes a lot of fiddling to keep the temp steady….I do have to do the pre registration for the video visit for the pre op stuff on Monday….and I have to do a dry run to make sure both the tablet and phone work this time…I really hate these video things…I mean, in addition to the 5 grand I’m going to have to pay for the surgery, they want me to buy new computer equipment? That sucks….and I can’t afford it…the air is still bad out here at 77 that is considered “unhealthy” so I should put a mask on to ride today but I really don’t want to….I did get laundry done yesterday so today looks like an easy one with no cooking and just cleaning…will probably do some more windows today since they are dirty and part of spring cleaning i never got to….not much to do today…it’s warm enough to get out in a t-shirt today when I go out in a few minutes…need to get moving…more later…
Not paying that price…
Well…I did remember to check on ticket prices for the Muskegon air show and my jaw just dropped…I mean, how many people are going to pay 50 bucks to see 15 planes on display and a couple of demonstrations? Not me, that’s for sure…oh, well….more later…
June 30th
Well…damn, need to get moving and it’s only 6:29…will be out on the bike here in about 10 minutes…the particulate number is down to 77 this morning so I think I can go out without a mask…there is a lot of fog out there today and I like riding in the fog…slept okay last night but don’t feel like it right now…having a hard time getting started today and I hope the coffee starts working soon…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but get my surgery rescheduled and the bike rides and today I need to get my paperwork done for the Monday zoom medical conference…it is going to be so busy over the next month and I am not looking forward to it….I am going to bake a pizza on the grill today and I think I’ll do that for lunch…and I need to figure out what else to make and I think it’s going to be eggs and toast since I have more than a dozen in the fridge…not much to do today…need to get the floor in the spare room mopped and get started putting the bed frame together….more later…
Can the SC be more racist?
Well..with the Supreme Court blowing up 40 years of precedent today by making affirmative action illegal in college admissions, my only question is “can they be any more racist?” I mean Clarence Thomas wouldn’t be on the court if there wasn’t AA back when he applied to college…he pulled the typical repub bullshit…he got his and now lets pull the ladder up so no one else an use it. The telling part of the decision is they left in place the ability of colleges and universities to use legacy as a factor for admissions…so family (white) is perfectly acceptable but trying to make the society more equitable and addressing the systemic racism built into it is not…this smacks of the decision the court made to gut the voting rights act saying that racism doesn’t exist anymore…maybe in their world, but in the real world it sure does and now quality minority candidates lose another avenue into the middle class….geez…
Got the new surgery date…
Well…the scheduler called me back this morning and I have my new surgery date…July 25th so that will give me two months to heal before the trip…and truthfully, the trip will be better when I won’t have it hanging over me…got two rides in today both masked and it was okay no shortness of breath no coughing or sore throat…so I think I’ll keep that up until the air gets a lot better…and once I have the surgery, I won’t be back on the bike until after the UK trip since I don’t want any setbacks….but I guess I’ll just have to see how I’m healing…have to be off the bike for 6 weeks or so…so, it’s going to be a busy July with getting my teeth done on the 10th…and that gives me 2 weeks for them to heal until the surgery…going to take a break and try to find a topic in politics….more later…
June 29th
Well…took the day off yesterday with the air quality being over 200 again that is “very unhealthy” and you’re not supposed to do anything outdoors…but this morning, I’m going to put a mask on and go for a ride…can’t take two days off in a row…slept okay last night but a small storm came through around 5 and woke me up…it even rained a little but that won’t do my lawn any good….tried to contact the surgery scheduler yesterday but she didn’t call me back and I’m a little irritated about that….need to get in for the surgery in July so I can heal before the UK trip and I’m pretty concerned that is not going to happen…I did get started on cleaning the spare room yesterday and I need to mop the floor and clean the windows in there today so I can start putting the bed frame together….the little weather widget at the bottom of the screen says “rain coming” and it appears there will be a shower that will keep me off the bike until after I run out to Aldis to get the mozzerella cheese I forgot to get yesterday…going to make a pizza on the grill for the first time tomorrow…going to take some burger out of the freezer to have over the weekend and I wish I had room in the freezer for chicken since Gordon’s has it on sale for 1.39 a pound…oh, well…not much to do today…just going to try to get the rides in and figure out what to eat….more later…

Well…not sure if you’ve read anything about this guy the repubs elected in South Dakota but damn, he is typical q anon moron…his name is Joe Donnell and he really thinks that Mt. Rushmore is a demonic portal that is spreading communism across the US and that it sits on a lay line that elves used to use to magically transport themselves between the mountain and DC…and he knows all of this because god told him personally…and the mountain was carved with magic and used to have different faces and a dwarf hideout under it that is coated with gold and gems on the floor and walls…you get the idea…a person who should be locked up for psychosis is actually a state rep in South Dakota who truly believes this stuff…and the the idiot trump is going to come back and something, something to fix the lay line that was broken by magic so they can get into the magic caverns under the mountain…I really do think that this country is in trouble if repub voters think a guy like this is perfectly qualified to make laws for one of our states…I wonder if the crazy has gotten worse or it was always there but just hidden…and the repubs don’t see the need to hide it anymore? Geez…
Bad air again today…
Well…after being out in the “dangerous” air of 343 for 6 hours yesterday and just finishing up the grocery run in 223 air, I am having shortness of breath just sitting here so I must have had some damage from the rides yesterday…so, I won’t be riding today and I can keeps the guilts away since I did more than two rides yesterday…this does kind of suck to be forced to stay inside in a closed up house when it’s going to be in the 80’s today…but it’s supposed to get better tomorrow and I’m going to clean a bit today to have the spare room ready for my daughter…okay, need to make the call to the periodontist…more later…
