Well…running about on time today with getting up with the coffee alarm clock at a little after 6…didn’t go out to get the paper today since I just didn’t want to get cold and it’s pretty useless for 5 bucks…my left hip is hurting again this morning and I must have done something when I was sleeping last night…but, it’s not as bad as yesterday so I can deal with it…didn’t get anything done yesterday but I am going to clean a bit today…going to take the day off the bike today to get back to the normal pattern after riding twice a day all week…I am starting to get a little anxious about the dental work tomorrow…it’s going to hurt like crazy when I get back here and I’ll have to shift into survival mode when it’s done around 4 or so…going to over eat today since I won’t be able to eat until Wed or so…hey, maybe I’ll lose some weight…have to look on the bright side….but I will have at least two days of pain killers to help weather the storm…not much to do today…just eating and cleaning…Man U plays in the League Cup final at 11:30 so I’ll be watching that and then just taking it easy for the rest of the day…no cocktails tonight in prep for the surgery so I’m going to be pretty bored…more later…

Boycott Heineken…
Well…just read an article on Mastodon that even though Heineken promised to withdraw from the Russian market, they have continued to invest in Russia and have launched 61 new products there along with building bottling and distribution plants, supporting Putin and his murderous war in Ukraine…so any time you buy a Heineken, you are helping Putin kill more Ukrainians…so boycott Heineken…they don’t deserve your support if they support Putin…

Well…just read an article that had me laughing out loud at the absurdity of it…I guess idiot boy is now a DJ at his tacky Florida golf club every Thursday and Saturday night during dinner…yep, the idiot trump is now playing music for dinner patrons as he sits there and stuffs his face and my only thought is “of course he is” this how far this idiot has fallen and I, for one, is happy to hear it…maybe the stress from the coming indictments is furthering his decline and that’s just fine with me…the sooner he shuffles off this Earth, the better it will be for everyone…I wonder what’s next? Is he going to become a waiter there, too? Or better yet, a busboy….who really cares anymore? Geez…
February 25th
Well…damn, I’m not sure what I did but my left hip started to hurt last night and it is really bad today…hard to put any weight on it and that is just a pain…woke up at 5 again today but laid back down until 7:30 and I think the lack of sleep has caught up with me….so, I don’t know when I’m going to get on the bike today…it’s already 8 and I’m on the first cup of coffee so it will be quite a while…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t get a lot done but I do need to clean the bathroom today with the build up of dust on the edge of the shower…I still can’t believe how dusty this house is…I guess it should be with being 82 years old but it is still a pain to constantly dust…Monday is going to be the two year anniversary of moving in here and it has been a pretty good time living here…haven’t made any progress on the house in 6 months so I need to get off my butt and get going but that will wait until after the health problems are sorted in April…not much to do today…it did snow a little last night but I don’t think I’ll have to shovel today…I do need to clear the front steps that I forgot the other day so I can use them after getting my mouth destroyed on Monday…I had doves on the feeder yesterday and that has never happened before….huge birds but pretty dumb…two of them were pecking at the side of the feeder trying to get at the food and never figured it out…more later…
Lazy day…
Well…sitting here at 12:45 and I have everything I wanted to do already done so what’s next? Got two rides in this morning and am still digging on watching tv on my tablet when I ride now…watched two episodes of “Leverage” today and will probably keep doing that since there are 5 seasons to watch…the teeth that they are working on Monday hurt like crazy today and I had to take some ibuprofen to cut it…and it worked well since I just noticed the pain is gone…it’s pretty annoying that the city is working on something at the corner and have had two trucks idling over there for over an hour…can’t figure out what the heck they are doing…I do still have to do the lunch dishes before the soccer match that is on at 3…it looks like the big empty lot to the north of me is having sewer lines put in it…there is a pallet of about a dozen 20 foot pipes sitting there so we may be seeing another new house or two out here….I didn’t hurt my should as much as I thought since it doesn’t hurt at all today…but it is funny that when I move it the thing grinds an pops so loud I can hear it…strange…
Some good demographic news…
Well…with all of the insanity and hate coming out of repub party these days, and the illusion that they are taking over this country, an article I just read gives me hope that this is just temporary…when polling was done on political affiliation over the past few months, the only group that the repubs lead in is the over 65 folks…and that group is the one that they continue to kill off with covid by the constant anti vax bullshit that comes out of fox news on a daily basis…and the group that watches fox is the only one that is shrinking…with the greatest number of additional voters coming from the 18-29 year old group that overwhelmingly votes for dems…this demographic time bomb is paired with the fact that no one likes any repub policy…and the overturning of Roe by the supreme court brought needed attention to the rest of the bullshit they have been up to…I mean Missouri just passed a law that makes it a felony to cross dress or “drag” and perform in public…and that means that every trans person could be arrested for just living their lives…so, I have a little hope that enough voters that have at least one foot in the real world will continue to see the repubs for what they are and vote dem to boost the demographic train that is bearing down on them…geez…
February 24th
Well…I just noticed that I only did one of these yesterday and I promise to do better today….up at 5:04 again this morning but laid in bed til 6:43 and I’m not sure if that helped or not…my stomach is growling like crazy this morning for some reason and I have a bad case of heartburn and I can’t figure out why that would be…I know I kept the calories under a thousand yesterday but that’s pretty normal for me…I have started to prepare for the surgery Monday by getting food thawed that I will be able to eat with my mouth torn up…turkey soup is going to be the go to since I really don’t need to chew that much and I’m going to make mashed potatoes Sunday….have broth in the cupboard, too, so I’ll be able to survive it…damn, woke up thinking it was Saturday today and that has been a theme all week…off by a day and I wonder how I got out of synch? I did beat the heck out of my right shoulder peeling the ice off my walks with my garden spade but it looks like the heat I put on it last night has helped…doesn’t hurt as much as I expected but it is still stiff….not much to do today…need to get stared soon but don’t want to…just going to ride the bike…twice…and then see what happens….more later…
February 23rd
Well…damn, it’s one of those morning where you wake up at 5:04 and immediately know there is no point in trying to sleep more…but that means I’m going to be pretty worn out later and may have to take a nap….I did sleep okay but only about 5 hours and I already feel tired…had an okay day yesterday but got nothing done but cooking and today looks the same…I did stay around 1K calories with pasta for lunch and then a pork chop and asparagus for dinner…and I got two rides in watching tv and that will be the plan for this morning once I get more coffee in me and muster up the motivation to move off this couch….I do have to have everything done by 3 this afternoon when Man U plays…that may be the time to take a nap….I was a little concerned that I was going to lose power last night with the rain and ice that was falling but the house is still warm and I’m doing this so no problems…and the radar shows the there is nothing coming in so the big winter storm warning was a bust…thankfully…but we still have a cold day today and tonight before it warms up Sat and the snow/ice should melt….not much to do today…man, it’s going to be hard to get going today…it’s 6:17 and I have the first cup of coffee in me but I won’t be on the bike before 8 so that gives me some time to just ease into it and read a bit….more later…
Respect for the US skyrockets under Biden…
Well…with a new article that just dropped saying that respect for the US across the world has skyrocketed under the leadership of Joe Biden, we finally get to put numbers with the feeling I’ve had since he took office that his honor and honesty would have people looking at us and seeing the US in a new light. And the numbers really are staggering from the lows that the idiot put us in…Sweden went from 15% approval to 85%….Belgium went from 9% to 79%….The UK went from 19% to 72%…Germany went from 10% to 78%…you get the idea…even the lowest improvement on the list, Greece, went up 42% so you can really see by numbers the damage that idiot boy did to this country, and you can see the respect that the world has for Joe and what he is doing to repair all of the damage that the asshole in chief did…so why would anyone want that kind of crap again? Not me…but you know that…I just hate that prick with all of my being and I think the only place he should be is in jail…and that may be coming…fingers crossed…

Well…okay, got both rides in before 10:30 and that is a direct result of being able to watch tv on my tablet when I rode…the time just flew by and I got the chance to start to watch the original “Leverage” again and that was cool…I discovered something pretty cool about the earbuds when I accidentally hit the on/off switch on one of them and the tablet paused the show…something I would only have found by accident…and the tablet easily got through both rides and still had 80% of the charge left after streaming the entire time….I’m still marveling about my move into modernity with just the gift of a tripod….
