Well…just went downstairs to put the clothes in the dryer and there was water on the floor by my water heater…so I opened it up to take a look and the inside by the burner is dry…I mopped up the water an hour ago and now the floor is dry and I can’t figure it out…it could be that it pushed a little water out of the overflow but when I checked that tube it was dry…so I guess I’ll just keep an eye on it for now…I did just take a shower before I put the laundry in so I wonder if that had something to do with it? The heater is less than 10 years old so the tank shouldn’t be leaking and I sure don’t want to spend 1500 bucks on a new one…crap…

January 8th
Well…damn, my back hurts again this morning and I have started to heat it again hoping it will stop….had an okay day yesterday and I am looking forward to having a day off the bike today and just vegging a bit….I really don’t ever take days off but I think I need to put one in the schedule once a week…I am retired after all and I think I may have earned a day off now and again…at least my teeth aren’t hurting right now so I’ll take any bit of good news I can get…I really should clean some today and I might but I know I’m going to do laundry at least and I may make tacos….and aldis has chicken drumsticks on sale for 59 cents a pound this week so I am going to buy a 5 pound bag that I don’t need but for under 4 bucks that is a deal….and I have to hit Ollies to get some more long sleeved t-shirts for 3.99 and will probably get some more short sleeved one, too, at 1.99 each….but that sale doesn’t start til Wed so I’ll do the Stermberg road Meijers and go there on the way back….not much to do today…just going to ease into it with no schedule at all and that is harder than it looks….need more coffee and to see if there is soccer on this morning….more later…
A pretty good day…
Well…had a pretty good day today after my back settled down in the afternoon…normally, lying down helps it so I am confused why it hurt so badly when I got up…and then right after lunch my teeth went nuts for some reason with a lot of pain that the orajel didn’t cut this time…so I took an ibuprofen and that may be why my back got better, too….still only had about 1200 calories today with making an olive burger with Swiss and some chips and then a bowl of chili for dinner….I did get two rides in so I guess the extra 200 calories are okay….had a lot of activity over at Mastodon today with a bunch of people following me but I wonder if that will trigger me into doing more over there like I do here since people do have expectations….there are some nice people over there and I’ve had more interactions in the month I’ve been there than the 10 years I was on twitter…much different mindset than the bird site….but I am going to keep my politics over here…I just want Mastodon for fun and not arguments….I am going to watch Svengoolie tonight since he is showing a movie at 8 that I haven’t seen before and has some good actors in it…so that is going to be my exciting night with a couple of cocktails and maybe even a snack….exciting life….

Well…with little kevvie getting the gavel as speaker of the house, the moron repubs are now spouting about all of the damage they are going to do to SS, Medicare, and the ACA along with the investigations they are going to push…and all I have to say to them is bring it…everything they want to end is popular in the US, a hell of lot more popular than they are and they are going to shriek it from the rooftops and just drive even more people over to our side…and imagine the ads that are going to be run using all of this crap in 2024…and look, they control the house only so basically the only thing they are going to be able to do is investigate everyone and everything…but what they are too stupid to realize that not everyone is crooked like them, and they not going to find anything….and one of their biggest “investigations” is going to be of the January 6th committee…yep investigating an investigation…what a waste of time and our money…
January 7th
Well…I guess I was wrong…got up this morning with my back howling in pain and I am just so damn tired of it…have the heating pad on it again and it looks like that will be my day and I don’t like it one damn bit….up at 6:23 today and I’m still worn out…I wonder if I should take the day off? Nope, that will wait til tomorrow….it is nice that it isn’t snowing out here and it looks like it won’t for the next week or so…I did read that Muskegon is the second snowiest city in Michigan and the ninth snowiest in the US yesterday…not sure what that means but I don’t think it was bad last year and so far it’s not bad this year….didn’t get much done yesterday and all I want to do right now is melt into the couch…I did watch two episodes of “Kaleidoscope” last night and the whole watch it in any order didn’t work for me….what is the point in watching the last one if you know that everyone dies? It’s like watching “1899” when you know it’s already been canceled….not much to do today….just need to ride the bike and make tacos…..and I think I’ll have a burger for my second meal even with having leftover chili…darn, don’t even want to have more coffee and that’s not normal….more later….
I think my back may be getting better…
Well….don’t know if I should talk about this or I may jinx it but my back seem to have improved a little today…I’ve only heated it once and it didn’t really need it then so I’m keeping my fingers crossed…had an okay day today and got two rides in after running an errand this morning and getting my Mega tickets for the 940 million drawing tonight and picking up the lettuce and tomatoes for the tacos I’m making tomorrow…I did stay under 1K calories for the second day in a row so I will have to eat more tomorrow or I’ll hit the wall and feel like crap all day….or maybe I’ll have a snack tonight…not sure which….my eyes have even been better today and I have no clue why that should be…after I stopped the allergy spray it takes all day to get them working right…but it’s good now so I’ll take that, too….
Two years ago…
Well…I sure hope everyone remembers that two years ago, right wing repub thugs attacked this country to try to overthrow the duly elected government…and yet, the chief thug and his minions are still not in jail and are still running around spreading the lies that led to the attack…I know there has been some movement on the investigation and two more prosecutors were added to the 50 or so who are working on the case, but damn, with what we know from the January 6th committee, there is already plenty of evidence to charge the idiot trump and his minions with multiple crimes so why hasn’t that happened? On this dark anniversary, wouldn’t it be the perfect day to indict the ringleaders? And while they are at it, how about kicking the repubs out of congress who voted to overturn the election? As we get farther out with that happening, it just emboldens the repubs to do it again…there has to be consequences for this criminality or they will just keep doing it….geez…
January 6th
Well…damn, had a heck of a time getting out of bed this morning with waking up around 5 but then going back to sleep until 6:23, then struggling to get out of bed around 7….and my back is still bad today and that is going to make me miserable all day….not sure when I’m going to get on the bike today…I should do one ride before I run errands but I just don’t want to…but I have an hour before I go out so I should get off my butt and get going…but, without coffee? Yeah, that’s not going to happen…..had an okay day yesterday but it was another day without getting anything done and that is getting depressing….today will probably be the same and that is depressing, too….oh, well….I was going to make tacos today but I made chili yesterday and still have soup left so that will be my two meals for the day….I did stay under 1K calories yesterday and will do that again today but I’ll have effects from it tomorrow so I think I’ll have to try to eat more….not much to do today…Man U plays in the FA cup this afternoon so that will be on the schedule and I am going to get the rides in later…or not….I could use a day off since I’m so worn out but the prospect of having the guilt that would result from that is a bit too much….more later…
Damn, I still hurt…
Well…damn, I still hurt after the outdoor rides yesterday and my abs have gotten worse…but my back is a little better so I’ll take that but I still wince when I get up off the couch even after heating it a few minutes ago…and that is getting old…I did make chili this morning but it is a little off after I tried to do it from memory and I can’t figure out what it is….it’s okay but not as good as the recipe was…I guess I should have asked my daughter for another copy of the recipe that I got from her in the first place…the taste normally changes after it sits for awhile so I’ll try it later with some chips since a bowl of chili and a bowl of soup is not enough with riding twice today….and I’m going to make tacos tomorrow after I run out to get lettuce and Mega tickets at Meijers….oh, and some roma tomatoes will go good with it, too…but right now, I just want to get more water and watch a little soccer….

Well…one of our dem senators has decided to not run for re-election when her term ends in 2024…not sure if it surprises me or not but she has been a good senator who has done good work not only representing the people of Michigan and was the first woman elected senator from Michigan. she has done great work as the chair of the agriculture/ nutrition committee that sets agricultural policy for the US…when she was a state senator, I worked with Debbie as the parent representative of Kentwood schools as the repub controlled legislature and Engler tried to screw over districts that wanted to spend more money on their schools….and that gave us proposal A that took school funding out of the local school districts…and is still screwing public schools to this day…and you know who backed that? Yep, the DeVos’s dirty fingers were all over it….so, thanks for your service, Senator, and good luck with the rest of your life….
