Well…see, this is what happens when you don’t hold the right wingers responsible for breaking the law…they see the idiot trump and his cronies still walking free so they think they are above the law, too…just this weekend, we saw an act of right wing terrorism when some group shot up some electrical substations in NC Saturday night leaving 40K people in the dark for the weekend and the power is still not back on…and is it a coincidence that there was a drag show that was scheduled for the area that same night with right wing protestors threatening people outside of it? This is not “vandalism” as some reports have said…it is domestic terrorism and I’m glad to see the FBI is now involved since you can’t trust local law enforcement in the south since most of those departments are filled with white nationalists who are sympathetic to the terrorists….this kind of crap is what comes from the lawlessness that the repub party supports every damn day…and you can bet it wasn’t anyone on the left doing this crap….they need to find these assholes and throw the book at them…geez…

December 5th
Well…that was not what I needed…needed a good night’s sleep and didn’t get it and haven’t gotten it for weeks now…I am so damn worn out even with taking the day off yesterday that all I want to do is go back to bed but what’s the point? Didn’t sleep last night and won’t sleep now so I guess I’ll just suck it up and get at it…had an okay day yesterday and vegged the whole day but that just made me feel guilty…so I am going to get back at it today with a ride here in a few minutes…have thought about trying to ride outdoors today but the wind is blowing 15 out of the west and that would make the outbound trip pretty brutal…and I have another dentist appointment today that I am kind of dreading but it has to be done….and I’m going to stop at Meijers on the way home and pick up a ham for 89cents a pound so I can have it tomorrow and for the next couple of weeks….not sure when the last time was I had a ham but I think it was last year….going to make the mashed potatoes and gravy like I normally do and coat it with the maple syrup glaze that comes with it….not much to do today…just going to ease back into the normal routine and get on the bike here in a minute and then watch soccer at 10…already have the heating pad on my back…again… since it hurts already and I need to get out ahead of the pain that will come from riding….I guess I can veg out here for an hour or so before the bike and get much more coffee in me with the hope it will jump start my old body….more later…
Can the idiot just go away?
Well…damn, I am so tired of the idiot trump and I think he needs to just go away, or get locked up, or something so no one has to listen to him again…we all know he has no respect for any law in this country or he wouldn’t be constantly breaking them…and just the other day he was quoted everywhere about his rant that he should still be re-instated as president for some reason and using any method up to and including destroying the constitution to do it…and I couldn’t get away from his bullshit even on Mastodon since multiple people posted the rant there…I have a question for the repubs out there: is this enough for you to stop supporting this criminal? Since only a few of them have condemned the rant, I guess not…and it just shows the rot that is infesting the modern repub party…not one damn honorable person in the bunch that will stand up for the country…geez…
How about some sports?
Well…still feeling a little worn out today but I did want to talk about some sports…didn’t watch all of the Michigan game last night but I did see the important part…they are now 13-0 for the season and I do have to remind myself of their pattern that I’ve seen in all of their games this year…they allow the other team to stay close through the first half and then pull away in the second…so that win made them Big Ten champs and they will be in the college football playoffs along with Georgia but the other two spots are still to be determined this morning so I’ll update that after it happens….not sure how I feel about the matchups or if Michigan can win it all…they have looked good at times and iffy at times and with the loss of Corum, the other runners will have to stop up….hmmm…the World Cup…now that the US is out, I should lose interest but France is playing right now against Poland and then England plays this afternoon and I wonder what team will show up in that one? I mean they only drew with the US but beat another team 6-2 so I think they will win it as I think France will win this morning….but I really don’t have any other opinions right now…yeah, and that surprises me, too….more later…
December 4th
Well…running about on time for a Sunday and I’ve been out to get the paper in the cold and I don’t like that at all….but there is no snow on the ground so I’ll take that any day…I think I slept okay but was out of bed by 6 and I wonder if I’ll ever sleep in again…and I wonder if I’ll take the day off the bike like I should….I do need the miles that riding would give me but would 8 more make any difference? Not sure about that and don’t even want to think about that right now….I need the coffee to work and right now…had an okay if wasted day yesterday and today is going to be the same if I don’t get off my butt soon…but I don’t want to…just want to sit here and have coffee, watch tv, and read the news….and that’s what I’m going to do for at least a little while….I did get the Meijers ad for this week and it has spiral sliced ham for 89 cents a pound so I’m getting one of those Wed and that will last me for a week or so until I get another one…and aldis has chicken leg quarters for 59 cents a pound so I’ll be loaded up on protein until the end of the year…I think that will be the first ham I’ve had since last year with the prices so high for pork….not much to do today….just going to ease into the day with more coffee and heading out to Mastodon for some news…I’m really starting to like that new program and it is going to allow me to quit twitter since the asshole bought it….more later…
That didn’t take long…
Well…that didn’t take long…the US is out of the world cup after losing the first knockout match to the Netherlands 3-1…our guys played well but defensive lapses did us in….they looked good most of the game but once Netherlands scored, we were chasing the game and that usually means you have to take risks and that opens you up to counterattacks that Netherlands put to good use…so we’re out but I’m still going to watch the rest of the tournament but I’ll shift my cheering over to England…or Australia who is playing Argentina right now…
Round of 16…
Well…I’m not sure if I’m more surprised that the US made the round of 16 in the world cup or that Belgium didn’t….and Belgium is ranked at #2 in the world….but that is how soccer works at times..and now we meet the Netherlands here in 28 minutes and I have mixed feelings of both excitement and dread since I know that we will have to play our best to move on to the next round but I’ll be happy no matter what…I know our guys are going to work their butts off and do their best and I am happy that Pulisic will be able to play after crashing into the goaltender scoring the winning goal against Iran…so, USA,USA, USA…go boys!
December 3rd
Well…running a bit late today with not getting out of bed til a little after 7 but my sleep was fitful and I tossed and turned all night….so I’m feeling it right now and having a hard time getting going…but do I need to get going? Yeah, I do but it won’t be outside today with the temp crashing and winds that I can hear over the tv….had an okay day yesterday and got 4 pairs of “lounge pants” for just sitting around here from my daughter and I really do feel like she is trying to make me stylish…and I do feel a little stylish and they are comfortable brushed flannel and now I can change them out more than once a week…it’s going to be a big sports day today with the US playing the Netherlands in the world cup at 10am and then Michigan playing for the Big Ten championship at 8 tonight so I need to get the bike ride in before that….I was waiting for the Meijers ad to see if I was going to be able to get a cheap ham this year and they have spiral sliced ones for 89 cents a pound so I’ll get one this week and then another one next week…and aldis has chicken leg quarters for 59 cents a pound for a 10 pound bag so I’ll fill the freezer this week…but I need to use some stuff out of it first…starting with another container of turkey soup that I started to thaw yesterday….damn, it’s pushing 8 and I’m only on my first cup of coffee and need to get on the bike by 8:30 so I can be ready for the match at 10….not much to do today….haven’t been accomplishing much lately and today looks the same and it shouldn’t be…have been a lazy slug lately but I don’t see that changing today…and my guilt has been short circuited lately…and I’m not sure how I feel about that…it’s been a driver of getting things done and without it life won’t be the same…but I guess I’ll live through it….more later…
Finally got started…
Well…with how I was feeling so unmotivated this morning, I am really surprised that I got started at all today…and I figured out it’s not riding in the wind that is hurting my back since it hurts like crazy right now…but I did ride the indoor bike today so maybe it’s just bike riding in general? I wasn’t even going to do that after running an errand early this morning my plan was to just say the heck with it and not ride today…but then I made lunch and felt better so I hauled my butt downstairs and got a good hard ride in…but I still need to start on the two a days if I’m going to have any chance at getting to 6K miles…only have about 240 more to go and I may even be able to do a couple of rides outdoors this week before it gets really cold and drives me back inside….but right now I’m going to watch some soccer and take it easy for a bit…
Nancy’s goodbye gift…
Well…with the repubs doing their best to telegraph the chaos they are planning when they take over the house in a month, Nancy Pelosi has a parting gift for them since they are planning to hold the country hostage with the cost being cutting SS and Medicare…Nancy and her counterparts in the senate are working on a deal to fund the government for a year so so they will only have a year to screw things up until the 2024 election…now this is something I’ve advocated for in the lame duck session of congress, get everything done you want and that the country needs before the bomb throwers take over and wreck the place…and they’ve started out well with codifying same sex and interracial marriage and I really do hope they get the protection of democracy done by passing a new voting rights act and federal abortion rights…but there really is no time since in the 30 days they have left, they are only going to be in session for half that….so get after it dems before the darkness falls…geez…
