Well…that was a bit more of normal with getting up at 6:03 instead of 7:30 like yesterday…but I feel pretty lousy today and worn out and that’s getting to be normal…you know, I’m bored with talking about that crap…so let’s talk about something else…it looks like we are going to get some pretty wild weather the next couple of days with another gale warning on right now and I was really looking forward to riding outside today but I can hear the wind so it will be inside today….I am edging up to taking a day off the bike but I think I’ll try to wait til the normal Sunday off….didn’t get anything done yesterday but sign up for Mastodon but I do need to run an errand today but I’m sure not motivated to do that…not really motivated to do anything right now and even doing this is a lot of work….I have a whole day that I can use however I choose but even choosing seems like a lot of work…as I said the other day…depression is on the horizon and getting closer all the time…crap….not much to do today…I have to get on the bike in the next hour or so and I do need to pick up some trash that blew into the yard and I am contemplating picking up some leaves that have collected in the corner of the fence but that seems like a lot of work right now…more later….

Trump lost twice today…
Well…you would think that the idiot trump would get tired of losing and stop filing all the damn lawsuits he files against anything he thinks is beneath him…but today idiot boy lost twice when his tax returns were sent to the House committee investigating him….and he lost again when the federal appeals court looking at the corrupt judge he appointed and her appointment of a special master to decide the ownership of the documents that were seized from his tacky Florida resort….and they went right to the point when they said they couldn’t allow and subject of a search warrant to block government investigation after the execution of the warrant…and they sent the case back to a lower court with instructions to dismiss the case in it’s entirety…what that means is that this judge made the whole thing up when she appointed the special master…there was no statute that she based it on and it was only because she was incompetent that she made the ruling…so, now the government is free to use any and all of the seized documents to build it’s case against him…and will put the final nail in his coffin…as I’ve said before, I could not believe that she would let a criminal dictate what evidence the government could use to build a case against him…and I was right that it was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen…tick tock, trump…your time is coming….geez…

Well…as you all probably know, Elon Musk bought twitter and is doing his best to destroy it by letting racist right wing bullshit to flood the site…and firing almost everyone who worked there…including all of the content moderators who made sure there wasn’t the fascist crap that dominates some sites out there…so lots of the people I follow have been searching for a new social media site that won’t allow the right wing bullshit to pollute it…and lots of them have migrated to Mastodon so I signed up for an account earlier today and that’s why I’m late getting to this one today…damn, the last thing I wanted to do was to learn how to run a new platform but the deterioration that I saw in twitter left me no choice…and with ole elon today blocking anyone who disagrees with him…and that means any one on the left who criticizes his repub cronies…so I guess I’ll dig deep and learn a new site…maybe it will give me something to do…who knows? At the very least, I don’t want to support anything elon anymore…we don’t need more billionaire assholes ruining this country…
December 1st
Well…running really late this morning with not getting out of bed til 7:30….kind of expected that with not sleeping at all Tuesday night…but I don’t think I’ll ever fix my sleep deficit…the wind was howling out here yesterday and at times it got so loud that I could barely hear my tv…sure hope I didn’t lose any shingles off the roof…damn, another month starting and I’m not sure if I like the idea of time passing like it does….it always make me think of the Pink Floyd lyric from “Time”…and I’ve said this before….”the sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death”….and that’s how I feel this morning….not really depression but I can see it on the horizon….I finally got some work done yesterday and I can walk into my kitchen without cringing…. and I need to do my bedroom today but I don’t have a lot of motivation right now….I think I’m going to delay getting on the bike today until I watch Route 66 that is on right now….need a blast of nostalgia….not much to do today…I do need to make sure I eat enough since I only had a bowl of soup and 4 chicken fingers yesterday and that is not enough even without doing two rides…but I am going to try to do two indoors starting today….that may get me to my goal for the year…but nothing seems appealing right now…so I may just say the hell with it and take the day off…yeah, that made me laugh, too….more later….
Got some work done…
Well…finally, I broke the string of lazy days and got some stuff done today…as I said, I got the bike ride in and the grocery run done and the settled in to watch the first WC match…but, during that match I decided to get to work and cleaned my kitchen including mopping the floor and scrubbing the cabinets and baseboards and then I mopped the bathroom floor while I was at it…while that was going on I put all of the throw rugs in the washer and got them washed and dried and put a yellow one up in the kitchen to replace a raggedy blue one that I’ve had in there since I moved in here…the yellow one is in much better shape and much softer and thicker and that will help since the kitchen is over the crawlspace and the floor is always cold…and I need to stand out there when I’m doing the dishes….next up is going to be my bedroom since it is pretty dusty and I can see some cobwebs in there that need to go….but Poland and Argentina is on right now and I want to see that one….
An early day…
Well…man, it is really strange to me to have everything I had to do today done by 8:50…got a downstairs bike ride in starting at 6:30 then read a little news before I got out to do the grocery run but that put me back here before 9 and that is really early for me..coming out of aldis the wind was gusting so hard that I though my groceries were going to blow away…they were sailing straight out from my hands and I was really hoping that I wasn’t going to have to chase my groceries across the parking lot…but I’ll take is since it is giving me a chance to relax and finish off the coffee before the first world cup match…and that is a conundrum since there are two matches on at 10 and I have to figure out which one will have the most action…I know Argentina needs to win to move on but Mexico does, too, and they are on at the same time and I always root for the teams who are in our region if they aren’t playing us…I guess I’ll watch France play at 10 and then Poland/Argentina at 2…and I think I’ll be able to see one other match after that in re-run….so maybe Mexico then….so it looks like another wasted day but I’ll probably do some small cleaning as the day goes on…and I need to start doing doubles downstairs so I need to find 45 minutes to do that…maybe between matches? We’ll see….
Not sure how I feel about this….
Well…with the major rail unions having a hell of a time getting the owners of the railroads to bargain in good faith even with profits in the billions of dollars, I don’t know how I feel about the Biden administration threatening to impose a no strike law to keep the trains moving. I know a general strike would cripple the economy and would cost the dems in the next election, but we on the left are supposed to support unions and the fact that they lift people out of poverty and give workers a say in their jobs…and unions built the middle class in this country…so why attack them now? I’m not sure if everything that can be done has been done…like getting mediators involved to make sure the owners are bargaining in good faith especially with their history of screwing over their employees and creating terrible working conditions…so what now? At the very least this law should mandate a short cooling off period and then suggest milestones that have to be met in the negotiations and then allow for a strike to happen if there is no progress since that progress is going to hinge on the cooperation of the owners of the railways….it always comes down to the owners trying to steal the contributions of their workers…and that needs to stop not only with the railways but across all industries…after all, the ceo’s make an average of almost 300 times what a worker makes…and that was only about 25 times in the 70’s…so we know where all of the profit goes….geez…
November 30th
Well…another 5:28 morning today but I feel like I got a good 6 hours and that I will take any day of the week…and I feel pretty good today with being good for a second day in a row and tonight will make it three and I may get to five this week…we’ll see…didn’t do a lot yesterday but get the rides in and do laundry and I did finish up the t-day food so now I need to figure out what I’m going to make since I don’t have any protein on the grocery list for this morning so it will be freezer diving or maybe pasta for a meal today…I did get a free box of texas toast last week with coupons that Meijers sent me and I have free milk and lots of other coupons for today…should save about 6 bucks from the coupons this week and every little bit helps…it will be nice to have something else than turkey for the main meal today….it looks like I’m done with yard work for the year since I don’t have many leaves left and the wind will take care of most of them…going to ride indoors today with the gale warning we are under for the next two days and the wind is already whipping around out there…survived riding outdoors yesterday with just a little tightness in my back and side and I can live with that…the only problem with getting up so early is that my chores for the day don’t fit the timeline starting so early….I may have to head over to Sternberg road this morning since that aldis opens a half hour earlier and I can hit Meijers there first…then be back here by a little after 9…I did get a care package from my daughter yesterday…when we talked over the weekend, I mentioned that my skin gets really bad over the winter and my heels crack from the dryness…so she sent me body lotion, hand lotion, and heel crack lotion so now I have enough to get through the winter without having to search all over for it….not much to do today…just need to get on the bike after another cup of coffee but it’s still only 6:15 so I have a little time…and then the grocery run and more world cup matches…and I promised myself I will clean some today since I’ve let the kitchen go too long without doing the floor….more later…
The US moves on…
Well…cripes, what a nail biter….the US scored one goal to move on into the round of 16 beating Iran 1-0…the goal was scored by Christian Pulisic who just crashed the goal to put in a headed cross by Dest but ran into the goaltender and had to go out of the match at the half due to an injury he got scoring…so now, we move on to the Netherlands at 10 Saturday morning and I’m not sure how I feel about that one…if we play like we played England, we have a good chance to do something…but if we play like we played Wales or Iran, it could get pretty ugly pretty early…but to get to the round of 16 is a pretty big deal and I will allow myself to be happy about that for a day or so…and then root for them again especially since we are such a young team…but I still think it’s weird that I know more of the players on the England team than I do on ours…might have to start watching MLS although at least 6 players on our team play in the Premier League….go USA!
A pleasant surprise..
Well…as you know, I’ve been fighting some pretty severe back pain from riding the bike outdoors in the high winds we get out here and using my heating pad on it three times a day to just be able to move at all…but did that stop me from going out into the wind today? Of course not…but the pleasant surprise from it is that, while I still have some pain, it’s nowhere near as bad as it has been and I haven’t even had to heat it yet…will probably do that later just to stay ahead of the pain…I did take an ibuprofen before I got on the bike this morning since I’ve been searching for a solution to this pain I’ve had for more than a month now and I’ll try anything to be able to get up off the couch without wincing…so I’ll take any little progress I can get…and hope the progress holds…go USA!
