Well…running a bit late this morning with not being able to get going…didn’t get up til 6:30 and I don’t think that helped how worn out I feel even with only doing one ride yesterday…and I need to get out on the bike here pretty soon since there is rain coming in that is going to be here around 9:30 or so…and I’m not sure how many rides I’m going to get in…it will be tough for me if I can’t get back out for at least one more ride….haven’t only done one ride two days in a row this year and I’ll feel like a slug if I do…okay, I have when I was riding indoors but I don’t want to get back on that if I don’t have to…I did get out to put more food on the lawn late in the day yesterday with the rain that was coming overnight but it looks like the rain dissipated before it got here so I really hope it rains today and works the food into the lawn….if it does rain, I am going to run out to depot to get some more veggie food for the gardens…can get 40lbs for 22 bucks and that should last me all summer…and with all of the sunflowers I have up, they will need food if they are going to get to the giant size that they tout on the package…it would be cool to have them get to 8 feet with heads that are a couple of feet across….I almost took the day off yesterday but just can’t figure out how to do that….and won’t do that today with a few things to do….need to pour more coffee into me and get on the bike by 7:30 so I have 22 minutes for one more cup and to shake the cobwebs out before I get on the bike….would really like to sit on the porch and listen to the rain this morning and I think that will be the goal for the day…tough work…more later….

Did a ride today….
Well…yeah, I know I said I was going to take the day off the bike today but it quit raining and I couldn’t just do nothing so I suited up and got out…and then it started to rain when I got out to the beach and it was pretty miserable all the way back…well…not miserable…I don’t mind it raining when it’s just a little warmer but it was only 59 when I went out and I am still cold from it…I did get some work done today so I guess that’s something…cleaned the couch and rotated the cushions and then vacuumed the rug and tore the bed apart and washed the bedding along with the couch blankets….so I did get a couple of things done but the races are starting now so I’m done for the day…I promise I’ll get back to politics tomorrow and try to do a couple a day on that until I get caught up….I may even do one today if I get any more bored than I am right now….
7:45 and I’m bored already…
Well…damn, sitting here and have already read the paper and all the news websites…and that leaves me bored already and it’s not even 8am yet…so, it may turn out to be a pretty hard day since I don’t feel like cleaning yet…or ever, but I do need to clean off the dining room table that I let pile up with lots of stuff and looks like crap….and I do need to clean the stove some but will probably wait until I cook for the day….I may go out in the rain to feed the garden here in a minute since it does need food to keep everything going….okay, my brain isn’t working so I’m going to get more coffee and watch the MotoGP race….more later….
June 5th
Well…not running late today with getting up at 6:05 but I felt so crappy last night that I was expecting to have that continue this morning…and it has a bit…still pretty worn out but I think a large part of it is going back to 45 miles yesterday…but, it’s raining a little out there with a long train of it all the way back into Iowa heading this way so I won’t do 45 today….or I may just take the day off and try to let the pain come out of my legs…but that is harder than it looks….will be looking at the weather all day to try to see a break that I can fit one ride into…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t get anything done so I think I’ll do some cleaning today…and I have to cook so I’m going to make tacos this aft but still need to get something else out of the freezer for tomorrow….I did water the lawn yesterday to try to keep it alive til the rain today but I don’t know if it’s raining hard enough to save it…don’t even want to look at my water bill this month…oh, well….not much to do today…just going to take it easy until I figure out if I want to clean….I need more coffee…and more coffee, and more coffee….more later…

Well…I don’t know why I’m surprised…I knew there would be lots of people on the trail for my last ride today with the pub pedal event going on starting at noon…but damn, not one of those people were paying attention at all and I almost got run into at least a dozen times…and I had to ride on the road to get around the swarms that were clogging up the trail on the way out and I really hate riding in the road…from the looks of some of these folks, there are going to be a few heart attacks in the crowd since a lot of them look like they haven’t done any exercise in 20 years…..but, I survived it and now I’m home and going to relax the rest of the day….and maybe come back here for one more after I take a look at the news….
Holy crap! Louie Gohmert is stupid…
Well…sitting here waiting for lunch to cook and just read an article about the dumbest congressman in the country and all I can do is shake my head…after the moron Pete Navarro got indicted and arrested Friday….ole Louie vomited up this little nugget of stupidity…”if you are a republican, you can’t even lie to congress or to the FBI or they’re coming after you and throw you in the DC jail and torture you…” hey, Louie…if you didn’t know, lying to congress or the FBI is a federal crime and it is not, as you say an “affront to justice” this coming from the law and order repubs….none of them think the law should apply to them at all…and if we let them take back the house, no law will….vote! and not for them….
June 4th
Well…damn, it’s only 48 degrees out there and it’s June 4th? Oh, well…that just means I won’t be getting on the bike for an hour or so and that might not be a bad thing…slept okay last night and didn’t get out of bed til after 6 and I wonder if that will affect my schedule for the day…ha,ha…don’t have a schedule other than to get a couple of rides in and watch the drunks on bikes later….should be good for a laugh or two….only did two rides yesterday so I could get out to the beach for the first time and relax a bit…it wasn’t too warm but I did get the first swim in for the year so that was cool…that water was about 62 degrees and that still feels pretty cold when the air temp is only 70 with the wind blowing 15 off the lake….I did almost get out for a third ride but when I got on the bike, the left pedal was making a cracking noise that annoyed the heck out of me and I had to figure it out…so I took a pedal off the black bike to swap out to make sure the noise was in the pedal and then washed it out and then lubed it and I think I have it fixed…just figured out that those pedals have over 16K miles on them so I guess I should start looking for a new set….want to keep the black bike rideable just in case someone comes out and wants to take a ride with me….the first people moved into one of the rentals across the street yesterday and it isn’t even done yet and I can’t figure that out…and I wonder who can afford 1900 dollars a month? They are pretty small houses when I now look at them and can’t be more than 1100 sq ft…and no basement…weird….not much to do today….just going to wait for the temp to come up and then get on the bike for the first ride and then wing it for the rest of the day….it looks like I’m going to take the day off tomorrow with the rain…or I’m going to use that for an excuse and get a rest day in since I’ll probably do three rides today….more later….
Trying to find a topic….
Well…it’s been another kinda busy day that hasn’t left me a lot of time to read the news so I’m struggling to find a topic for today…oh, congress is finally going to investigate how the hell Jared Kushner made 640 million dollars while working in the WH and they are going to look at the 2 billion dollars the Saudis gave him to see if it’s really a quid pro quo for his protecting the Saudis from any blowback after the murder of Khashoggi…and to see if the policy of the government was changed after all that bribe money was funneled to him….ha, ha, ha…of course it was…cripes, the whole damn trump administration was a huge pay for play scheme whose only purpose was to enrich idiot boy and his cronies…look, if this investigation doesn’t result in some quick indictments, what the hell is the point? It’s taken a year and a half to get to the Jan 6th hearings and not one damn person organizing the attack has been arrested or even indicted for it…and the clock is ticking if the dems don’t get off their asses and turn out to vote this fall and let the repubs take over the house…any plan to hold any repub accountable will disappear and they will get away with destroying this country…or making it into their image of a fascist state modeled on Turkey…we can’t let that happen….
June 3rd
Well…damn, I can’t remember being this stiff in a long time and I know how it happened…and it’s all my fault for doing 45 miles a day on the bike for the past 6 of 7 days….and the stiffness is even in my neck and shoulders, too, and that is pretty unusual…even my feet hurt so maybe I’ve reached my limit and should pull back some…I think I’ll use the rain for an excuse to take a day off Sunday and try to heal up a bit….didn’t sleep too badly last night but was up at 3:41 for the first time and the out of bed a little after 6….cripes, I’m worn out….sure hope the coffee starts to work soon or it is going to be brutal on the bike here in a few minutes…you know, I wonder how I got so off track with riding….I’m feeling a compulsion to get out there three times a day and I think that’s not healthy for someone as old as I am…is there a precedent for this kind of self abuse? I started riding as a way to get into shape and burn some calories since I’ve always had a problem with my weight but the weight is not coming off anymore even with not eating much and burning 1800 a day on the bike…I should be losing a pound every 5 days with the extra burn of 600 cals a day…I mean damn, I only had a chicken sandwich with a quarter of a chicken breast and a handful of chips with a glass of milk…at about 500 calories for lunch and a small pork rib with asparagus for dinner for another 400 or so…so I’m under 1K cals a day and can’t lose weight? I am really starting to hate even thinking about this crap all day every day…..oh, well….not much to do today…I do need to do the weed walk in the yard today since I noticed a bunch of them mowing yesterday and I want to run out to Aldis for some stuff I forgot and I may go out to the beach this aft to get a swim in…but, it’s only going to be about 70 today and that may be a little cool for swimming…we’ll see…more later…
Meet the new excuse, just like the old excuse….
Well…it seems the media is actually asking the repubs why they need to have AR-15 murder weapons and the excuses are all just the same bullshit grasping at straws that they do after every massacre of children done by a killer with an AR-15. The latest one would have made me laugh a bit if it wasn’t connected so closely with the murder of 19 children and two adults in Uvalde….one of the idiot repub senators was asked this morning why they need AR-15’s and he said to protect their chickens from raccoons…now, I wonder how armed his raccoons are to need that kind of firepower to stop them? Do they have body armor? Do they do coordinated attacks? Do they ambush people trying to protect their chickens? You can see just how absurd this argument is from my questions…and I’ve never needed anything more than a pellet gun for pests like raccoons and groundhogs…or rocks for that matter…throw a few rocks and they take off running…and if you are anywhere near a city, you can’t shoot a rifle anyway without hitting something you didn’t want to hit. Look, we all know these are excuses to do nothing about these unnecessary weapons just like every other damn time…and the excuse that the right wingers use for needing these guns that they need to “take back the country” with violence against the government should be met with an FBI investigation and the loss of every damn weapon they own if they are threatening murder….there are laws against that, after all…geez…
