Well…damn, back to 4:55 wake up time today and didn’t get back to sleep so I got up after trying until 6:30….and I feel pretty worn out and disappointed that I’m not closing on my house until Monday with the title problems that the seller is having…crap…I was looking really forward to getting started on the move this weekend…oh, well…I guess I’ll just keep packing stuff up…got the kitchen done yesterday and I have my tools to do today along with all of the car related fluids and stuff that I have downstairs…put that stuff in garbage bags for the last move and had gear lube leak all over my passenger’s seat…and it took months to get that smell out of the car….so they’re going in a tote this time so if they leak, no problem…my arm is healed up from the vaccine I got on Sunday and the only lingering effect is a runny nose but that may be from stirring up dust around here as I pack and triggering my allergies….and I think they will probably be bad until I get both houses cleaned up in a couple of weeks….not much to do today…have to remember to watch the new rover that is being landed on Mars this afternoon…it can’t be4 live since it takes 8 minutes for the signal to get here but they have cameras on this one that will record everything for playback later…and this one even has a little helicopter that they are going to fly but I wonder how that is going to work with the atmosphere there only 1% as dense as Earth’s….should be a fun diversion….more later….

Goodbye and good riddance…
Well…I’ve been waiting quite a few years to write this…rush limbaugh is dead…and when I read the news this morning I actually shouted “good” and I don’t feel bad about it. This cretin was one of the driving factors behind the modern repub party becoming the hate filled, stupid party that it is now…along with fox news, this thug pushed conspiracy theories, lies, and personal attacks against everyone on the left and was one of the authors of the “birther” nonsense that idiot boy trump rode to prominence in the repub party and caused us to be afflicted with trump for four of the most terrible years in the country’s history. I don’t remember actually being happy that someone has died before…I may have in the almost 9,000 of these that I have done…and if I believed in it, I would hope limbaugh is burning in hell for eternity for all of the damage he has done to this country and the world…good riddance…
February 17th
Well…running a little late today with not getting up til after 6:30 and need a coffee jump start to get going…I broke down and took some ibuprofen last night since I was so sore everywhere but especially my right elbow from the pounding it’s been taking from shoveling….and that one dose seems to have helped quite a bit…I could barely take cleaning out the end of the driveway yesterday it hurt so bad but it doesn’t hurt much now…and it didn’t snow last night but it is 4 below right now so I’m wondering if my car will start even with it being in the garage…I do have the new charger/starter that I bought the last time it didn’t start so I should be able to start it…I am going to let it run in the driveway for a while to warm it up and that will be the first time this year…and I hope the last time since it is going to warm up starting tomorrow…I did get the entire kitchen packed up yesterday but it took 5 of the 8 totes I bought the other day so I think I’ll buy a few more this morning to make sure I have enough….not much to do today…need to make the grocery run after 9 and that will be 4 stops today with hitting DD for some chicken patties that I bought the last time they were on sale and they are pretty good for a quick, easy meal when I don’t feel like cooking….more later….
Progress today…
Well…I got some surprising news on the house front today with the possibility that I can close on Friday instead of next week…had to run over to the mortgage broker’s office to sign a paper that should be the last one…and I got the gas and electric put in my name starting Friday along with getting the cable internet turned on then, too….now I just need to transfer the water and sewer into my name after close Friday and then the hard work starts of digging out the sidewalks so I can get into the house…that will start Sat…and that means I can clean the place up some before I move my stuff in and that will be cool…would like to wash and wax the wood floors…oh, damn…almost forgot I need to buy a washer…but that won’t happen until after I move in so I can be there for them to deliver it…will need to get my mail address changed and then have it forwarded to me for a year…all of that and my day started with shoveling another 6 inches of snow off the walks and driveway…so there has been progress on the house today and that makes me smile a little….oh, and I got the whole kitchen packed up in totes but I used more of them than I thought I would so I may have to go to Menard’s tomorrow and get a couple more since I only have two left and the rest of the house to pack….right now, though, I am going to take a break and watch a little soccer…
Delusional, delusional, repubs….
Well…man, it’s going to be a damn lot of work to try to return some semblance of normality with the delusions running so wide and deep in the repubs….just this morning a poll was released on who was responsible for the January 6th attack on the capitol and, if I had three hands, I would be facepalming with all three of them…in the poll, 64% of repubs placed the blame for inciting the attack on Joe Biden…the same Joe Biden who wasn’t even in office yet and who never even commented on the attack on other than general terms of sympathy for the officers injured in the attack….and yet, they think it was all Biden’s fault for….reasons? Look, as long as fox news keeps lying and lying all day there can’t even be any agreement what the truth is and what facts are since their brainwashed watchers will only believe what they say….so this is going to be a long haul…just like deprogramming cult victims and you can’t do that unless they want to be deprogrammed….geez…
February 16th
Well….running pretty late today with not getting out of bed until after 7 and I wonder why that would be? I think I slept okay but feel pretty slow right now…I wonder if it could be from the vaccine? My arm almost doesn’t hurt and the slight fever seems to be gone, too, so I guess it’s about over….man, got 4 more inches of snow last night but I’m going to wait a while to get out and shovel…can’t remember being so sore from shoveling, shoveling, shoveling….at least it’s almost over with getting toward March and next week is going to be in the upper 30’s to around 40 on moving day….so, I think we’ve survived another Michigan winter….not going anywhere today and all I’m going to do is pack…have two totes done already and have 6 more here to pack today…should have the kitchen and all of my car stuff done today and then I need to start getting my tools packed but it’s too damn cold to work out in the garage so I’m going to let that wait til later…not much to do today…just packing and cooking and getting the move organized in my head…after much more coffee that is….more later….
Some good virus news…
Well…yeah, I’m writing a lot today but I’m getting other stuff done too…got the first two totes packed in the kitchen after I ran errands…even got some salt to put on the ice outside the door so keep my old butt from falling…but, that’s not what this one is about…just read an article from an epidemiologist that had a bit of good news on the virus in it…in his calculations using the amount of Americans infected, along with the pace of vaccinations, he estimated that we could reach herd immunity with 75% of the US population with some amount of immunity to the virus by the 4th of July….and that is with the current rate of vaccinations at the already doable 2 million per day…and that rate should go up as competent people take charge of the vaccination efforts. So, this could be the biggest damn 4th of July celebration in the history of the country if we achieve it…but there is still a long way to go…so, keep wearing your masks and social distancing…we can do that for 4 more months if the reward is a maskless summer and getting to see our family and friends again….
A president for all Americans…
Well…damn, it feels good to have a president for all Americans again and who doesn’t think people in states that didn’t vote for him can just go to hell. Just today, Joe Biden authorized emergency fund for the state of Texas that is getting battered by the worst snow storm there in the past century…2.5 million people are without power and travel has essentially halted since they don’t have the type of equipment that we in the snow belt states have…and they really shouldn’t have it for a once in a century event. Here’s the thing, Texas is part of the US and Joe understands that and it was one of his best campaign slogans that he would be president for the whole country…and he is not “thinking” about getting them aid or putting conditions on it like the idiot boy did for states that didn’t vote for him…nope, it’s just all hands on deck with FEMA taking control of the relief efforts and Joe pouring in whatever is necessary to help our fellow Americans….just as it should be. This is what a real president looks and acts like…no bitching, no bluster, just getting to work to help people…it’s just a damn shame that the folks in Texas will still hate all dems no matter what happens or how much is done for them…we’ll still know what a real president is and be thankful that Joe is in charge…
Don’t know what it is…
Well…have been wracking my brain over the past few hours to try to come up with a topic in politics without much luck…hmmm…I could talk about the small fissures that are starting to appear in the repub party as the never trumpers are starting to actually do something to rid themselves of the great orange blob of hate…a year ago, there would never have been 7 senators who would have voted to convict trump or meetings with a couple of hundred old school conservatives trying to figure out how to wrest the party from the grasp of the Qanon morons who are running the show there now. But, there are still the cynical hypocrites who are still attached to idiot boy’s ass with superglue and 44 senators who think that inciting attacks on them is just peachy and perfect behavior for a president….so, the task is going to be a hard one that has to start now with all of the corporations that are turning off the money taps for repubs across the country…damn, they’ve even lost the chamber of commerce in the past couple of weeks because of the widespread support repubs in the house and senate had for the attack on our elections….so, who knows what is going to happen…you know what I want…and that is for every damn repub that was involved in this illegal attack on our country to rot in jail for a few years….there has to be consequences or they may just succeed next time…
Vaccine remorse…
Well…no, I’m not having remorse about getting the vaccine…I believe in the science behind them and would do it again in a minute…my remorse is the fact that there may have been someone else that needed it more than me and now can’t get it because it’s in my arm. When I was at the clinic yesterday, I really didn’t fit in since most of the people there were leaning on canes or in wheel chairs and the ones who weren’t didn’t move too well….and here I go striding through the place with my normal fast walk like I’m twenty years younger than anyone there…and that is still bugging me a bit…I probably could have waited til later but I guess I’m still part of the process of getting to herd immunity that everyone who gets the vaccine is part of…I try to not be selfish but I guess this is one time that it is warranted and I really don’t want to die from this damn virus or even get sick since it would cost me 5K in what medicare doesn’t cover….so, I guess I’ll just live with the idea that I may not have deserved to get the vaccine yet…but, there’s nothing I can do about that now….but that won’t stop me from thinking about it…
