Well….cripes, how much more stupid does the idiot trump have to get before someone has the guts to stand up to him on the repub side? Yesterday, when idiot boy was touring a plant in Pennsylvania that makes masks and other PPE, and of course trump wouldn’t wear one since it will smear the orange makeup he uses, he made a comment about testing that was just so damn stupid, even for him, that all I can do is shake my head. During his comments, he said this: “…if there was no coronavirus testing, there would be fewer cases of the virus…” Let that one sink in for a minute…trump thinks that if you just stop testing, all of the virus will go away….and I’m sure that he made the leap to that stupidity because someone told him that recognized cases are going up because there is more testing happening….so, in his Adderal addled brain the testing is the CAUSE of the virus spread so stop testing and everything is just going to be fine. Now, hmmmm…I wonder if that works for other diseases, too…stop testing for cancer and you won’t get it….stop testing for diabetes and there will be less of it…yeah, you get my drift…come on repubs…the 25th amendment was made for exactly this situation…trump was never able to do his job with his abject stupidity…but the deterioration in even the past year is so damn clear that leaving him in place is a danger to this country…and there are already 90,000 dead that show that danger….can we last another 8 months? Who knows?

Well…man, I feel like crap this morning….just worn out completely and I really should think about taking a day off the bike…I know, I was going to take yesterday off but when it looked like the rain had stopped, I just couldn’t resist getting out…and about a mile in it started to rain…and it rained so hard that I stopped at one of the pavilions along the trail to wait it out…something I never do once I get started….after about 5 minutes, I couldn’t take it anymore so I got back on the bike and did the rest of the 15 miles in the pouring rain…but the stupid thing was I did the same thing in the afternoon…but in a t-shirt so I was wet AND cold and I think that took a lot out of me….and it rained so hard my shoes were filled with water and they are still soaked this morning….but it’s 59 degrees out there right now and when it stops raining I’ll probably get out and torture myself again….I do wonder how long I’ll be able to keep this up….I do have a lot of planting to do today with the beans and cukes needing to go in along with more tomatoes before they get too big…and one of my sunflowers that I planted outdoors has come up to go with the 7 more that have sprouted downstairs that also need to be planted today…so, I do have a lot of stuff to do today but not right now…I need coffee and to read the news first…and to feel better….more later….

Well…gee, I wonder if this is a coincidence? Yesterday, the FBI raided Senator Richard Burr’s office and home…supposedly as part of an investigation into “insider trading” that a bunch of repub senators did before the pandemic hit…where he dumped a bunch of stock before the market crashed and saved himself quite a bit of money…I wonder why he was the only one that was raided? Could it be that Burr is the chairman of the senate intelligence committee who is putting the finishing touches on a 1,000 page report on Russian interference in the 2016 election…and it has already announced that Russia did it and no amount of trump lying is going to change that…and it is speculated that the rest of the report lays out how trump and his cronies actually cooperated with Russia to get the idiot trump installed…I mean, if they exonerated him, would it take 1,000 pages? Look, trump and Barr hate Burr because he has not kissed trump’s ass enough and is trying to put out an honest report…and I’m sure they have a section on Barr’s lying about Mueller and his report and it will be really hard for either of those idiots to deride the conclusions since it is being produced by the repub controlled senate. This is all part of the pattern of the idiot trump trying to get rid of anyone who tries to tell the truth about him or his incompetent bungling….but it won’t stop the report from being issued…there are many others on the committee who will continue the work…after all, Burr isn’t writing it himself, there are staff who put it together and Burr then puts his name to it…I’m sure what trump will do is try to get a toady installed as the new chair to hide the report…but right now I’m sure there are copies being made all over Washington that will be released if they try to hide it…what a bunch of criminals…
Man, it’s dark in here…
Well…damn, it’s dark in here….it’s almost 10 and I still need to have the lamp on here in the living room…and yes, I only have one lamp…after all, it’s all I need…I’m not sure how I’m going to deal with not being able to get on the bike today…it’s starting to get a little old with the lockdown still going on for a few more weeks and I didn’t realize how much the bike rides every day were keeping me from being so bored that time seems to stop…I did get some chicken in a marinade that I am going to make for lunch and read a bunch of news but what am I going to do for the rest of the day? Man, I used to be much better at doing nothing than I am now and I wonder why that would be? I really don’t have a lot left to do on the house…on the inside anyway….and I’m not sure why I haven’t finished that…could it be the depression coming back? I think I may be getting a little concerned that I’m going to have to move back into an apartment with the housing market frozen and just a little more than 7 months til I have to be out of here….Okay…need to prep the carrots and potatoes that I am going to make for lunch and I need to stop thinking….but that is going to be hard….more later…maybe…

Well…yeah….running late this morning with all of my motivation gone for some reason…didn’t even get out of bed until after 6 and then just laid here on the couch until 7:28….just feel worn out this morning and I wonder if it’s all the work I did yesterday….got the tomatoes in but I think I got the timing wrong and they were too big…they didn’t take to the transplanting too well and I think I’m going to lose most of them…but, I have more started from seeds downstairs to replace them…and I’ll get those in next week after they get a little bigger…the peppers seem to be doing okay in the overflow garden and I have beans and cukes that need to go out next week, too…so I may be able to salvage the garden….it looks like I may have to wait to get out on the bike with the rain that is stacked up all the way back through Illinois and I think that may be a good thing….have had a lot of days of doubles lately and a day off with nothing to do might be just what I need to rest and recover…not sure how I’m going to deal with it but I’ll give it a try….not much to do today….can’t think right now but I do know I need to marinate some chicken to cook for lunch but I’m not sure what I’m going to make with it…might make a pouch with carrots and potatoes but right now all I want to do is finish this and drink more coffee….more later…

Well…I was going to write about the shredding of the rule of law that Barr and the idiot trump are doing right now with dropping the charges against Michael Flynn and letting Paul Manafort out of jail before he has even served a year of his 7 year sentence…along with Barr’s efforts to re-write history and destroy the Mueller investigation by making up wrongdoing by Mueller and his deputies…and the thousands of former DOJ officials who have called for Barr to resign of to be investigated for his illegal use of the justice department for political purposes…but all of this happening with the tacit approval of one of the major political parties just makes me sick….so, I’m going to leave this right here for now…oh, and the supreme court that McConnell packed for trump is going to declare him above the law even though the founders of this country specifically said that no one is above the law…even a president, but that doesn’t matter to the conservative hacks on the court…they don’t give a damn about the rule of law or what the constitution says…they are just making it up as the go along and that is going to be Roberts legacy…heading up the most lawless partisan court in the country’s history….okay, you get my drift and why I am so depressed with all this crap….you know, I should be pretty happy right now…still alive with no virus, some cash in the bank….but what the hell does that mean when these assholes are destroying this country? I need a break from all this crap….
May 13th
Well…that was a weird night that didn’t fit any of the normal patterns…tossed and turned a bunch, so much that the mattress was displaced almost 6 inches from even and the sheets and comforter were twisted into knots…strange….don’t feel too bad this morning though, so I guess I’ll take it…and that was three days without any allergy meds but I am pretty plugged up so I may take some later today…the stimulus cash showed up in my checking account this morning and I’m not sure if I am going to spend any of it…I would like a gas grill but the cheapest 3 burner is almost 150 bucks with having to buy a tank with it so I may need to think about that for a while…and I can’t think of anything else that I need since I already bought the tires for the car…it is a nice luxury that I can afford something if I want it but being frugal has served me well so I don’t think I’ll change now….with all the rain coming in over the next few days I’m not sure if I should plant my veggies or not…we’re supposed to get two inches of rain and that may just flood them so I may wait until next week to put them out…all of my sunflower seeds have come up so I may plant them outdoors since they won’t be in the garden and that might protict them…and I have some stuff to go in 5 gallon buckets so I may do those today or tomorrow…not much to do today….need to do the grocery run and then get on the bike to get the first ride in this morning…then the second one this aft…I think my legs will like going down to only one ride with the rain over the next 4 days…and we may be able to watch some storms, too so that will be cool…and it may be warm enough to shut the heat down for a while….it was kind of cool yesterday putting the top down on the car and then just pulling it in the garage and leaving it down overnight…going to be cold but I’m leaving it down for the grocery run this morning….more later….

Well….with the idiot trump and his stupid mini trump governors plowing ahead with “opening” the country in complete disregard of the science that says we are nowhere close to being able to do that safely, and with the new meme that the right is pushing that people need to be “warriors” and put their lives at risk to get profit flowing back into the pockets of the 1%, I find it so damn funny…or ironic that while the little people are being told to put their fears of dying aside and get back to work, a WH aide went on fox “news” the other day to decry that going to work was “scary” and that he was a he-man for doing it….never mind that everyone going into the WH is tested every day and their treatment is the best in the country if they do get sick, it is still almost too “scary” to keep going to work…but meat packers? Nope, working shoulder to shoulder doing backbreaking work for little pay in place where upwards to 90% of the workers get sick…but you know what they don’t do? Go on fox news to whine about it…that is the typical repub, folks…any little danger that they personally have to face is the worst thing in the world and they are “heroes” for doing it…everyone else? Not so much…get back to work and die peons…I need my pork loin…
Another busy day…
Well…the damn stimulus check came today! It was supposed to be direct deposit but somehow the morons in charge screwed that up….and that was going to be a problem depositing the check with my bank having closed all of the in person banking….I had completely forgotten about drive through banking and just sat here saying duh….so I jumped in the car and ran out to the bank and got that done with no waiting…and now I have to try to figure out how to make sure any others are direct deposit…but it’s not too much of a pain to do the paper checks so no big deal…the day started out with getting out to Menards to get garden supplies and got them all with no problem there, either…even got my tomato cages for only 95 cents each so I bought 20 of them…should have enough for the overflow garden, too…and I noticed the first bean plant is coming up in the overflow garden so maybe the seeds I planted there will work…and I have at least one of those downstairs too, along with all of my sunflowers so I know I’ll have at least 8 of them….oh, and I got two bike rides in today too….I may wait to plant the tomatoes until Friday since we are supposed to get thunderstorms Thursday and I don’t want to chance hurting them when they are just transplanted….but right now, it’s 3 and I need to take a few minutes off…and to look for a political topic….more later….

Well….it appears that 4:45 is the new, standard wake up time and I’m not sure what I think about that….I knew it was going to happen so I was tempted to take an otc sleeping pill just to try to break that cycle but I’ve gotten out of that habit so I think I’ll just take the 5 hours and call it a win….and yesterday was the second day with no allergy meds since I’m trying to make them last a while but I don’t feel too bad so no damage so far….I do have to try to eat more…two days of one meal a day made the bike ride torture with running out of steam about 3 miles in…the excess wind didn’t help either and I felt so bad yesterday afternoon that I had to hit the couch for an hour or so…I guess I do need more than a thousand calories a day to support my activities…and I’ll be going back to double rides today so I think I need to get started on eating something soon…still have some homemade bread to toast this morning and I do need to get some fruit this week since I need to eat healthier and I do like oranges and apples….I am going out this morning to try to get my garden supplies so I can plant tomorrow or Thursday and I am not looking forward to it…shopping has become a pain lately and I just want it over….not much to do today…just the shopping and then some outside work after the first ride….the grass seed I put in the front is sprouting and filling in the bare spots and that is cool…and I still have some seed left to fill some of the back yard, too…more later….
