Well…running really early today with getting up around 5 for the final time and I am just trying to get started here with only a little luck…used the french press to make some coffee this morning since I didn’t have a lot left in the pot from yesterday and I knew I was going to need more than the 6 cups in there…it seems like I slept okay but I do feel a little worn out this morning with only getting about 5 hours last night and having a couple of cocktails….I am a little disappointed that Space X has postponed it test launch until tomorrow since I was really looking forward to that to start my day today…oh, well…I guess I’ll have to make do with soccer here in a little while…I did get more work done in the basement yesterday and even mopped part of the floor that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years but it will need a wax to get it back to looking like it should…but that is going to wait until I can get the rest of it cleared and I can mop the whole thing again…I did get a 10 mile ride in yesterday and came away drenched again but it felt good to burn a few calories and I’ll do that again today after shoveling the snow but that is going to wait a while until the coffee starts to work…I did get some new speaker wire yesterday to replace the cobbled together ones for the back speakers in the living room and that is going to be a project for the day today so I can get them around the base of the wall instead of the center of the room….and then I need to clean the room, too….not too motivated right now so I am going to watch some tv for a few minutes and have more coffee….more later….

Can’t they look ahead?
Well…with the damage that the trump cultists are doing to both the country and themselves, my question is “can’t they look ahead and see the consequences of their actions on their futures?” Right now Moscow Mitch and the rest of the cult are reveling in the fact that they can still protect idiot boy from paying for his actions…but what happens after the next election? What happens when all of this bullshit from the repubs causes them to lose the next election and the dems control the entire government? Hey, Bill Barr, you’d better start looking for a country with no extradition treaty because, unlike Obama did with the Bush criminals, there is going to be a reckoning for your using the justice department as trump’s protection racket and for your continued perjury along with your role in the Ukraine extortion. That goes for Mulvaney, Pompeo, and the rest of this criminal enterprise…I know those of us in the reality based world will make it our jobs to ensure that the law will mean something again…that everyone has to obey the law or suffer the consequences…no more protection for a president from indictment while he’s in office…and every damn ICE office who has mistreated people looking for asylum better start looking for legal representation because they will be investigated and charged with their crimes….and every damn private prison will be shut down and investigated as well….the crimes they are committing on a daily basis for profit will be exposed for what they are…just another way to hate brown people while the repubs stand there, cheer, and allow them to make billions on the suffering of immigrants. I have asked the question before “can these people really be that stupid?” and the only answer given their behavior of the past two decades is Yup…they are all too damn dumb to see father than the next rigged votes in the senate…there is going to be hell to pay…
January 17th
Well…running a little late this morning and feel a little crappy after not being good last night and that may be the only time this week….just don’t enjoy it like I used to and I don’t need the calories…and my lungs are still trying to clear themselves and I wonder why it is taking so long for that to happen…the coughing is getting really annoying and tiring and I just realized that is why my upper back hurts….hmmm…slept okay last night but the lung problems are taking the energy out of me so I am going to take an easy morning…but I do have to run a couple of errands before it starts to snow and then I’m going to hibernate for the weekend since we’re supposed to get 7 inches of snow…it is kind of liberating to be able ride inside and not worry about the weather anymore…and I did get started on organizing the basement here…finally…and I think I’ve cleared enough of the tile floor to mop some of it over the weekend…don’t think that has been done for 20 years and it looks pretty bad…it’s nice to make some progress even though I don’t have the last room up here done yet….I do have to remember that Space X is going to do a launch tomorrow morning where they are testing the crew capsule escape rockets that will destroy the Falcon 9 in the process and is the last test before they can launch people to the ISS later in the year…and you know they will have cameras everywhere so it should be quite a show….more later…
First indoor ride of the year…
Well….looking at the weather this morning, I decided to bite the bullet and put the bike downstairs on the trainer since it is going to be cold and snowy for weeks and I was tired of dodging ice and snow on the trails. So I got it washed and dragged it downstairs to dry off since it was only 22 outside and it would have ended up an ice ball if I left it out there…got the computer moved to the back wheel and got the idler roller adjusted right and then got on the bike and did 8 1/2 miles…yow, that was a lot of work compared to riding outside and I came away sweating through everything like I did 15 outside in the middle of August. It really felt good to not have to think about trail conditions and just go…I know it’s going to get boring since I can’t get tv signal down there but for now I am going to look forward to knowing I can ride everyday without freezing my butt off…think I’ll do two a days for a while until I get too sore and need ibuprofen…I’m seriously thinking of leaving this bike as my indoor bike and buying a new one for outside in the spring….hmmmm…
The Ukrainians have opened an investigation…
Well…woke up this morning to the news that the Ukrainians have opened an investigation, but it’s not really the one that the idiot trump wanted. After the House released the information from the Lev Parnas investigation that showed that Rudy’s conspiracy had Ambassador Yovanovitch under surveillance, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry opened a criminal investigation into those involved…hey, I wonder if ole Rudy is going to be going back to Ukraine in the future? Yeah, probably not since he would end up in custody if he did since, if true, he violated both Ukrainian law and the Vienna conventions that protect ambassadors from this type of treatment…and now isn’t it ironic that Ukraine is investigating these threats while the US and Bill Barr’s justice department have swept all of this criminal activity under the rug and are not doing a damn thing about it? This is going to be an interesting story to follow over the next couple of days and there are more shoes to drop in the second part of the Parnas interview with Rachael that will be on tonight…and with the announcement of the investigation by the Ukraine, it appears that they are no longer afraid of trump and his conspirators since this extortion scheme hit daylight…so, don’t let anyone tell you that impeachment wasn’t or isn’t worth it…the people of Ukraine surely wouldn’t….
January 16th
Well…damn…if it wasn’t for the nightly 2 hour interlude of being awake, I’d be getting a solid 8 hours a night and that would be really cool…but, I don’t feel too bad this morning after another night of being good and I have almost turned that into a habit…I think my body can take having cocktails two days a week….at least I hope so…I think it would be way too much to not have any….but, I am pretty good at doing what I need to do to stay healthy…after all getting on the bike when I really don’t want to has been a habit for quite a while now….and it looks like yesterday was the last day on the bike outside with the trail flooded and the temps falling into the 20’s for highs for the rest of the month…and with the snow that is coming the trails would be impassable anyway…have space almost cleared downstairs to set up the trainer and will get that done today but I do need to set the computer up on the back wheel so I can keep track of the mileage if I want to get to 5K miles for the year….my lungs seem to be better today with less coughing but they still feel congested some and we’ll see as the day goes on how improved they are…didn’t cough as much last night so I am going to hold out hope I’m on the downside of that infection…it has been almost a month and that is too damn long…not much to do today…going to get back to cleaning and working on the last room some but I am not going to overdo it…want to let myself feel better first….more later….
Some really crappy news….
Well….talked to my oldest sister this morning and got some really crappy news about my youngest sister…she has been diagnosed with bone cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes and they are not sure what her prognosis is yet….this is really the first one of my siblings who has had any serious health problems and I am still absorbing what this means….all I know is that it sucks….
It just keeps getting worse…
Well…just got back from a long bike ride and I am still trying to warm up with little success so after I do this, it’s under the blanket time…after the release of more information about Lev Parnas’ involvement in the Ukraine extortion scandal, the scandal just keeps getting worse and worse. With the latest revelations, it appears that Parnas and his cronies had the ambassador they were trying to get rid of under surveillance and were tracking her movements for some reason…and that reason was cryptically revealed to be the possibility of paying someone in the Ukraine that Parnas and his criminals were working with to “get rid” of her and they talked about how much money that would take. Now, to me and to other people who have experience with reporting on organized crime, this sounds like they were getting ready for a “hit” on her and the state department took the threats so seriously that they told her to get out of Ukraine on the “next plane”. So now we have a “president” whose criminal cronies were going to kill an ambassador to get her out of the way of their corrupt schemes and not one damn repub is saying it’s wrong or commenting at all…I guess now murder is not an impeachable offense, either….and they are going to help idiot boy get away with it…but not for long…
January 15th
Well…running late this morning and I am wondering if I should try to get in to see my doctor with all of the coughing I’ve been doing lately…and I feel like crap this morning…even worse than yesterday and I know for a fact it isn’t from cocktails since I was good again last night…but, I had both a flu shot this year and a pneumonia shot last year so it shouldn’t be that…it does have an eerie resemblance to when I had pneumonia last time where I had a low level infection for weeks that just exploded and put me in the hospital…hmmm…and I didn’t sleep too hot, either with getting up at four and then back to sleep until a little after the coffee started…that has left me worn out today but I still need to do the grocery run in a little while and then get the bike downstairs on the trainer after I wash it….it is going to cold after this week and with the rain and snow coming, I just have to bite the bullet and give up on riding outside for a while….I did get to 100 miles so far this month so I don’t feel too bad about that….but it will be down to 6 mile days inside unless I do two a days like I did last year….not much to do today…I’m going to have to gauge my activity on how I’m feeling but it feels like I’m going to run out of steam after the grocery run unless the coffee starts to work….more later….
They’re not even trying to hide their interference…
Well…with reports over the weekend that Russia has hacked the Ukrainian gas company Burisma that was in the center of the trumped up charges of corruption against Joe Biden’s son, we can see that Russia is at it again, trying to throw the election to trump. And, this time, they are not even trying to hide that it is the Russian intelligence service GRU who is doing the hacking since Moscow Mitch has made it clear that he is not going to do a damn thing to stop them. Mitch won’t even allow election security bills to come to the floor of the senate, even though there are many of them that have been passed by the House and Mitch has been told by the IC that the measures are critical to keeping the Russians from installing trump for a second term. I am little puzzled by the hacking of Burisma looking for dirt on the Biden’s since we saw in 2016 that actual evidence was not necessary for the Russians to be successful in getting Fox news and the entire repub party to spread the lies about Hillary that hurt her campaign…but, it may be that just the announcing of Russian hacking of Burisma will be enough for the fevered brains of the trump cult to just “know” that there must be something there or why would the Russians waste time hacking them? Sowing doubt is one of the favorite ways that Russian intelligence disrupts elections around the world and to think the repubs would want to give up that advantage…of having an entire foreign government helping you win elections is living in a dream world…they are all evil traitors led by evil traitors….after we win in the fall, there will be no more protecting these criminals by refusing to cooperate with investigations…and the legacies of all of these traitors will be burned to the ground…as they deserve…
