Well…there was a little bit of good news from here in Michigan over the weekend that I almost forgot to write about…but, I remembered so here goes….you remember a few years back, the repubs in charge of the state were doing what repubs do, trying to make a profit off the water supply of Flint by switching it from Detroit where good, clean water was supplied for decades to the Flint river that was still polluted from years of industrial dumping from GM and other companies. With the finances of the city in dire straights due to population loss and cuts to state aid that is rampant under the repubs as they give tax breaks to corporations and the rich, Snyder appointed an emergency manager to take over the city…displacing the elected officials from the mayor on down whose only reason for being there was to cut costs with no regard for the safety of the residents. When the switch to the Flint River was done, the corrosive nature of the water started to leach lead from the old pipes and expose 100,000 people to huge amounts of lead…the big thing here is that Snyder and his cronies knew about the lead problem for a year and did nothing about it as men, women, and children were being poisoned. So, this weekend, Snyder was added back to the class action suit filed on behalf of the poisoned city and is now exposed to paying damages for his incompetence/inaction or the repub disease of just not caring about anyone who is not rich or a donor to their party…I, for one, hope he ends up losing everything and the people of Flint can at least use those millions to try to help fix the damage that was done…typical repub….

Well…got all the way to 6 again this morning and seem to have slept okay…but I did sleep on my right shoulder and it hurts again and is very stiff….still feel exhausted, though, and I think that’s more from the lack of calories than anything else…I did have an interesting day yesterday with getting my taxes in and having to write checks for 2500 bucks but I am glad that I had the money to do it…and I got a call from my oldest son to let me know he is engaged to his girlfriend whom I met last fall in NYC…pretty cool and great news…so it was a good day even though I had to lay out a bunch of cash…other than that, didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I have errands to run this morning…going to head out to DD to get a pork loin for 88 cents a pound and that will be the first red meat I’ve had since I had a burger in NYC last September…but, I can’t pass up 88 cents a pound….I should get some cleaning done today and I probably will do the bathroom this morning since this is not a workout day and I don’t have anything else to do….more later….
Subpoenas are coming…
Well…with Bill Barr still trying to obstruct justice by withholding the entire Mueller report from the House committees, the chair of the Judiciary committee, Jerry Nadler, has had enough and is readying subpoenas for the report and all supporting information to be issued by the end of the week. In a normal administration…or any administration before the criminal trump and his cronies infested the government, it was normal for the special counsel to supply the report and the underlying data as soon as the report was issued…every SC in the modern era has done this and there is no reason why Barr should not follow precedent…other than he can’t protect trump if he does…and let’s remember why there was a SC in the first place…to ensure an independent investigation that would be free of interference by the trump political appointees who run the justice department. So now, the real fight starts…and if Barr ignores the subpoenas, Nadler can send officers of the House to round up those who are ignoring the subpoenas and they can be held in contempt of congress until they comply….this could be an interesting week…
Danger…your printer will explode…
Well…I am still a little amused when I replaced the ink tanks in my Epson printer with generic ones and got essentially that message when I hit the print button…that using non Epson inks will probably ruin your printer, anything you’re printing, and start WWIII. But, I decided to chance it since I got all 4 tanks for less than one Epson tank…and that is just nuts…I know that the printers are just loss leaders to get you to buy the much more profitable ink, but there is no way they have more than a buck fifty in each tank…and they charge almost 25 bucks for each one…and that is only 10 bucks less than I paid for the printer…the weird thing is they have a little button in the printer software that says to “continue printing” even after the dire warning comes up. I will say this about this Epson…when I fired it up for the first time after not using it for a few months and it barely printed since the nozzles were dried out and clogged, all I had to do was run the head cleaning program twice and it prints like new…something that the the three Canon printers I’ve had wouldn’t do…once they were clogged, that was it…there was no bringing them back and I just had to throw them away…I was kind of hoping for an explosion and ink flying everywhere…that would have helped alleviate the boredom…
April 1st
Well…got all the way to fresh coffee smell o’clock before I got out of bed this morning and that is a little later than normal…and I slept on my right shoulder again and it is grinding and popping like crazy like it has swelling in it again…and it hurts in new places so that will take a while to figure out….still feel pretty crappy just like I have for a while now but I hope that will get better today…not sure why I think that I will but I can hope…it’s kind of funny that I hadn’t used my instant pot for a month and then used it three times over the weekend…and now I don’t have to cook again until wed or so but I do have to decide what to do with the 4 boneless skinless thighs I still have in the fridge…will probably just freeze them for another time…didn’t do much yesterday and today looks the same but I won’t have all of the sports that kept me busy so I have to think of other things to keep me from boredom…not sure what that would be but maybe the coffee will get me thinking…more later…
Polls…
Well…no matter how many times the bleater in chief stands in front of his minions and declares “no collusion, no collusion”, the US people just aren’t buying it…even with Bill Barr trying his damnest to try to spin the results of the Mueller probe, more than 80% of the US don’t believe him and want to see the entire Mueller report, not some “summary” or redacted version, but the entire report including the underlying evidence. Barr has been trying to create a role for the AG out of thin air when every other SC report has been released in it’s entirety…and there is no role in the SC statute for the AG to summarize, edit, or otherwise limit the information that the Intelligence committee can see so it will be interesting on Tuesday when the IC has a deadline for Barr to produce the report or they will start issuing subpoenas compelling Barr to give the entire, unredacted report to congress. Oh, back to the polls…I’ll bet the latest polls are driving the idiot in chief crazy when they say that his approval rating is back under 40%…and here’s the kicker…fully 64% of the US believes that trump committed crimes before he was installed by the Russians…and well over 50% think he’s committed crimes since he was installed. So, no…no “total exoneration” no matter how many times he shouts that to his troglodyte crowds…one other poll that I can’t find but I think it was really bad news for idiot boy here in Michigan…his approval here is only in the mid 30’s and almost 60% say they won’t vote for him if he’s not in jail before 2020…poor baby..impeach…
March 31st
Well….there’s progress on sleeping today with not getting up until after 6…yeah, small progress, but progress and I’ll take anything I can get….still don’t have a lot of energy yet and I have been coughing and sneezing this morning so I’m not sure what that is about…nothing is blooming yet so there can’t be any pollen but it sure feels like allergies…I think I’ll stop talking about that, too…I did get the new tires for the bike and will have to put one on the back this week since the rear tire is bald and I noticed it has some holes in it…small ones, but holes that can split and make the tire come apart…but, not today…I think I’m going to take the day off the bike today since it is going to stay in the 30’s and I just don’t want to be cold anymore….I did make instant pot refried beans yesterday and they came out pretty good with no fat or salt in them… a little bland but a good base for refining the flavor….and, made this way, they are pretty healthy and full of fiber…I wonder why the canned ones aren’t made this way…they have so much salt and fat in them I can’t eat them anymore….can’t wait to try them in a burrito…not much to do today…I got my printer working yesterday and that was really the only thing I had to do…other than cleaning….more later…

Well….have been thinking about doing one on this alt right fringe nonsense but was never triggered until they crawled out from under their rocks and brought this bullshit to GR…I am appalled that so many of my neighbors are so stupid they believe in the addled conspiracy theories pushed under the umbrella of Q anon….and we saw those supporters at the trump minstrel show that was inflicted upon us here in GR this past week. Now, come on, really? Do these people really believe that there is a huge conspiracy centered on the Getty museum in LA where someone, someone, Soros, is holding children in the basement there to be raped and then eaten…and they want the Marines to attack the museum and free the children. Or, how about the original conspiracy theory where Hillary Clinton was running a pedophile ring out of the basement of a pizza parlor in DC that was pushed by Hannity and other denizens of the right wing echo chamber…never mind that the parlor in question doesn’t have a basement and the only connection to Hillary is that the owner voted for her. Or, the granddaddy of them all is that trump and Mueller are working together to issue secret indictments of all of the dems in the country and that soon…really soon, they will be rounded up and executed since dems have to be traitors if they don’t worship trump. Now, in my lifetime I have seen plenty of stupidity, but until lately no one was proud of being an idiot but these folks are…they wear their ignorance as a badge of honor as they they wave their “Q” signs and continue to chant “lock her up”…what a bunch of morons…impeach…
March 30th
Well…I’m tired….and I’ve only been up for an hour or so…that seems to be the new normal and something that I’ve been bitching about for too damn long….not sure what to do about it other than bitch, though…oh,well…just need to have the coffee start to work and I’ll be okay…got a nice bide ride in yesterday but it looks like today is going to be a bust with it raining already and a huge blob of it still coming from the south…maybe I’ll just make today the day off I was going to take tomorrow….but, we’ll see…at lease I won’t even be attempting going out until the afternoon but it is going to be cold so I’ll be back in light thermasuit and gloves today…the premier league comes back today with Man U playing at 11 and F1 qualifying is on at the same time so there will be some flipping this morning…I am going to try a new recipe for boneless/skinless thighs for lunch and cook a little rice to go with it….not sure if I’ll use the instant pot but probably should since I haven’t used it in a while….but, right now there is an F2 race on and I need more coffee so I’ll end here….more later…
Adam Schiff is my new hero…
Well…you just have to watch the destruction that Adam Schiff leveled on the idiot trump supporters on the House Intelligence Committee yesterday when the 9 repubs pushed the moronic idea that Schiff should resign since he had the gall to say what everyone knows…that trump and his campaign got help from the Russians during the 2016 election no matter what the trump shill Barr said in his “summary” of the Mueller report. I was almost laughing when I watched Devin Nunes sitting there thinking he had engineered a coup against Schiff, and then Schiff just eviscerated him and the rest of the repub traitors who serve on the committee with a very simple recitation of all of the times it is factually known that the trump campaign met with and tried to help the Russians during the campaign…and how the Russians helped elect trump…and he used a simple rhetorical flourish with the words “you might think” at the start of each recitation…which made it even more powerful…you really do need to go out to twitter or youtube and watch it…and watch the faces of Nunes and the rest of the repubs when they realize they have really screwed the pooch and made a huge mistake taking on a former prosecutor who is prepared for their attack…it is just beautiful to watch….
