Well…I really do hate to gloat when people are losing their jobs, okay…maybe it’s not gloating but just pointing out how badly the idiot trump sucks when trade is involved…every economist in the world has said that trump’s tariffs are just the most stupid thing he could have done, and that they would cost hundreds of thousands of jobs and billions in corporate profits…and now those projections are coming true with the announcement from Ford that the tariffs have already cost them over a billion dollars in profit just in the 6 months since the tariffs were imposed, and today Ford announced that they are going to cut 24,000 jobs that are also a direct result of the tariffs…so now, how’s that MAGA bullshit working out for you Ford workers that voted for trump? This is just the first round of damage that has been done by trump and his idiot minions and it won’t be the last….Ford is warning that, unless the tariffs are rescinded, more and more cuts are going to happen that could imperil the company’s viability going forward…and if Ford fails, that’s over 350,000 jobs gone…350,000 good jobs that pay enough to live on…but that has been the repubs plan all along…they can’t have regular working people making enough money to live on…that means taking money away from the 1% and that is just not acceptable…impeach…

October 9th
Well…running about on time today but I just can’t get too motivated …feel a little slow today and that means I’ll ease into it until the coffee starts to work…it was a nice, warm day yesterday and I had the top down out and back to pool…and I won that…and today looks like another nice one with it already almost 70 at 7am…so I can get out on the bike as soon as it gets light…and after I work out…I did get some of the rust taken care of on the car yesterday and today I need to make a repair on the top to get ready for winter…didn’t get much else done yesterday but I will do some work today cleaning and prepping some food for later in the week…have some fish that needs to be put in some marinade and found two pork chops in the freezer that need to be used so that will be lunch Thursday….I do need to get some oven cleaner to do a clean up inside of the stove since I did the outside the other day….more later….
All out war…
Well…let’s get this straight right out front…I hate republicans…or the modern iteration of the win at all cost republicans who see no problem with destroying this country just to hang on to power a little longer as the demographic wave builds and we get ready to take back at least the house in a month and, fingers crossed, the senate, too. While we wait for that time, it is time to declare all out war on the repubs and states controlled by them….and this means boycotts of any companies that do business in states who take a way a women’s right to choose after Kavanaugh and his cronies strike down Roe…and any state that restricts voting rights to try to keep dems from voting and, with the economic power that blue states wield, that means no more conferences, travel, or even buying goods from red states…that also means that when we learn that executives at Facebook throw huge parties to celebrate Kavanaugh being installed on the SC, that Facebook and it’s advertisers are also targeted for boycotts…or just stop damn using it…it rots your brain anyway and is just a huge waste of time not to mention they can’t be trusted…and I am tired of the calls for “dialog” with the right in this country…no damn more…I don’t want to hear a damn thing from any of them and I will never, ever listen to any of those idiots again…I mean, how stupid do you have to be to vote for trump? Or, how much of a racist? This is all out war that we need to wage on every damn front…get out to vote, support voting rights and make daily decisions that stop supporting any company or person on the right…that’s it…they wanted a war? We’ll give them one….charge…
October 8th
Well…up and moving early again today and I’m not sure why…I did wake up at 3:40 but was able to get back to sleep and have a couple of dreams that had foxes and crows in them and that was unusual…both for the subject and that I had them at all…had an okay day with getting out to hang with some friends for a while and even had the top down out to the park but not on the way back…a little too cold for that after standing out in 50 degree weather in shorts for a couple of hours…didn’t get anything else done yesterday…didn’t even come here for a 2nd one with working on the new media server with my son…it was hard work watching races and I am exhausted today….I did make a nice lunch with the instant pot yesterday and that will mean leftovers for the next few days so I won’t be cooking much…I do need to work on the surface rust on the car before pool today and do the normal stuff…it looks like I’ll be able to get on the bike as soon as it gets light this morning and there may even be fog to ride in…that would be cool…more later….
October 7th
Well…running really early this morning with getting up early to watch the F1 race but the new streaming site my son set up is not working so that was a waste…back to sleeping crappy again and I am exhausted this morning so this may be a short one…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done but clean up a little but today I’m going to use the instant pot to make some chicken again and I want to make some more brown rice since the last batch came out pretty good….that will be for lunch and it only takes 15 minutes so I guess I won’t need to prep for quite a while yet…I did get a bike ride in yesterday but it was wet and the bike was a mess when I got back here…had to wash it to try to get the rear shifter working better with all of the grit that was in it…it looks like it is going to rain in a little while so maybe today will be that day off of rest I’ve been needing….more later….
Just damn vote…
Well…with the destruction of our democracy that we witnessed over the past couple of weeks and the impending removal of the rights of anyone who is not white and straight and male, I just want to remind everyone here that we can start to repair this damage if we just damn vote…that’s it…it’s very simple, we outnumber the assholes on the right and it we just get off our lazy asses and vote, we will win…and we will see that terrible people like Susan Collins, who betrayed every woman in this country with her vote for Kavanaugh, will be gone in 2020…as will many other repubs who only listen to the money, not to the people who elected them…in Collins case, there has already been over 3 million dollars raised for her dem challenger in the past two days and that will explode into the tens of millions to make this hypocrite Collins go away…and that is just what she deserves for all of the lies she has told and her acceptance of Kavanaugh’s sexual assault just to keep what little personal power she will get from her vote….every damn one of the repubs need to go away and we can make that happen if we just damn vote…cripes…
October 6th
Well…running early this morning and was up way too damn early at 4:45 but just couldn’t sleep so it looks like I’m back to the old patterns and that sucks big time….at least my BP was down to 116/76 when I got up so I guess that’s something….I did get a bike ride in yesterday but it was wet, cold, and windy and it took me almost two hours to warm up after that one…and it looks like I’ll be waiting til this afternoon to get out today with it raining right now and storms all the way back through Illinois…didn’t get much done yesterday other than a little cleaning in the kitchen so I’ll have to do better today…but there is lots of sports on starting at noon with Michigan and Man U playing and then a race on later so I may be able to catch up with a nap later….don’t even have to cook again today with leftovers to be used and a few more bagels and salmon to have for breakfast…I did look up the calories in a bagel with cream cheese and salmon and yow! Almost 500 calories but I’m not going to cut anything else out…just a splurge for a few days and I am not going to feel guilty about it…more later…
Everyone opposes Kavanaugh…
Well…after reading the news over the past couple of days, it appears that everyone in this damn country opposes the attempted rapist Brett Kavanaugh being elevated to the supreme court…except for the 51 repubs in the senate. At last count, over 1700 law professors have signed letters saying that Kavanaugh shouldn’t be confirmed…and that is along with two retired supreme court justices and almost 70% of the people polled on the question…and almost two million people who have signed a petition opposing him…making him the candidate with the worst polling and support of any in the history of polling….and yet, the repubs keep pushing forward with this scam that is destroying what little faith the people have in the senate…making the SC illegitimate in the eyes of most of the people and will make Kavanaugh the first sitting justice to be charged with a felony…or multiple felonies of perjury and sexual assault after the dems take back the house and do a real investigation…not the sham that has been perpetrated on the US by McConnell, Hatch, and Grassley. Anyone with any character or honor would have withdrawn with all of the crimes that have been exposed, but in his speech to the senate and yesterday’s op ed in the WSJ, it can clearly be seen that honesty, honor, and duty are foreign concepts to Kavanaugh as they are to every damn repub in this country…and again, it falls to the dems to save this country and clean up the repubs mess as we always do when we get back in control….geez…
October 5th
Well…up again at the new normal time so that puts me here a little early and still shaking off the cobwebs…slept okay last night but feel a little sore everywhere today and I’m not sure why that would be….might take something for it before I get on the bike but that will have to wait until around 10 or so since it is pretty cold and I need it to be at least 47 so I can go out in shorts…I did get a lot of cooking done yesterday with soup, smoked salmon, and chicken stir fry for dinner and I am looking forward to a toasted bagel with cream cheese and salmon with my coffee here in a few minutes…I think I finally ate enough yesterday and I need to continue that today to see if that helps with the flat legs I’ve had lately….this place does still smell a little smoky today since the fan over the stove is not the best and some of the smoke escaped into the kitchen…but it was worth it to figure out how to smoke fish…didn’t get a lot else done yesterday but I do need to clean some and spray some bug spray to keep the spiders out with it getting cold outside…not ready for that yet…more later…
Let’s go Red Wings!
Well….another fall comes and another Red Wings season starts tonight and I am going to admit that I am still excited when a new season starts even though they have missed the playoffs the past two years. That excitement is tempered this year by the retirement of Henrik Zetterberg who has been my guy since he came into the league in 2002 and has made me some money betting on who would score the next goal over the years…but, I am glad that he is going out on his own terms and is thinking about his health and the rest of his life…I am going to miss him but maybe there will be one of the youngsters that will step up and provide the excitement that Hank did over his career…we can hope. The boys have looked good through the preseason but we all know that really doesn’t mean much and the season is a long grind….the one thing I can say right now is that we are undefeated and I will be watching…and will be breaking my no cocktail policy for tonight…Let’s Go Red Wings!
