Well…running late today with not getting up until almost 7:30…and not being good last night makes getting going a little more of a chore than I’m used to….slept okay last night so I hope that will offset not being good but I think that is just a hope…it was a busy day yesterday and I had fun meeting up with T for a couple…it was nice to see her after almost a month…had a lot of laughs and good conversation….today looks like it is going to be much more low key with only the bike ride this morning…Man U is playing this aft so that is something to look forward to….but, I don’t have to cook today after doing the huge ham yesterday….I did buy some braunschweiger yesterday and I now remember how much I like it…bad for you but it sure tastes good….more later….

Busy day so far….
Well…it looks like you’re not going to get a political one today since I may be going out to meet up with T in a few minutes….it has been quite a busy day so far for me with doing the grocery run early, then taking the car out to wash it, getting a bike ride in, and then making a big lunch that I just finished putting away. I was going to talk about music for a while but I’ve done that before, got that idea this morning when “the Last Waltz” came on a regular tv channel and I had to watch some of that…like that movie so much I just ordered it up on the server and it just showed up and I’m watching it as I write this…I was going to talk about the process of seeing Led Zeppelin back in 74 and 75 but that will be story for later….I think I need to start putting some of my stories down so I don’t forget them…and my kids may want to know what my early life was about…so it will have to be sanitized somewhat…but, not too much…we thought we were pretty bad but, compared to now, we weren’t really that bad….
January 25th
Well….running a little late since it’s Thursday and you know that means grocery run….was up quite early today and feel pretty good today with being good for 4 days now…and, I don’t think I have a bug like I thought….it may have been getting back on the bike and working the lungs again that caused the coughing since I don’t have it today…..I’ll take that…don’t want that flu that is going around but I’ll probably get it at some point…I think I’ll get a flu shot next year since Medicare will cover it….geez, I’m getting old….I did talk to T yesterday and even a little this morning and we have lunch planned for tomorrow and that will be fun…she has stories that I’m sure will make me smile…..not much to do today…the frickin birds have been at it again so I have to wash the car after coffee and after the sun comes up this morning…and I do need to get back on the bike today and the next few days…will even be able to put the top down on the way home from lunch tomorrow….yay…more later….
Crumbs for the workers…as always…
Well….everyone but the repubs knew that the great tax giveaway of 2018 would benefit corporations and the 1%, and now we see that we knew what was happening…and the first crumbs are being sprinkled on workers starting with the big banks. and manufacturers. The banks have been crowing that the huge tax cuts they have been given is trickling down on their workers as they announced bonuses to some of their workers of up to $1,000 dollars…but, when you look at the comparison of the size of the tax cuts to the banks, the bonuses that are going to SOME workers are equal to less than 2% of the tax cut that the top 1% is going to get…so this huge tax cut that is going to decimate tax receipts is not going to anyone but the rich…or to put it in the words of a repub senator: “We need to reward our donors or they are going to turn off the money taps”…and that is the problem…many manufacturers and banks have used the tax cuts to finance laying off thousands of workers that they would have kept on without the cuts….again, the result of the shoddy bill that no one knew what it contained….but, there is only one thing you really need to know about the cuts…that the day after the tax cuts passed, Koch industries wrote Paul Ryan a check for $500K …talk about “pay for play”….geez…
January 24th
Well…running early again today or is this the new normal? Slept okay last night and don’t feel too badly today…the bug I thought I was getting seems to be a low level one since I don’t feel worse today…but, I’ve only been up a little while so we’ll see in an hour or so….haven’t heard from T since Sunday and it is a phone problem and I can’t wait til that’s solved….today is a fresh coffee day and that starts out the day on a good note…it just tastes better the first day….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I will clean some today and try to use up the leftovers so I can cook tomorrow….probably won’t get on the bike today with it only going to be 30 for a high and that will leave ice on the trail that I don’t want to deal with….the news is calling me so I think I’ll go do that…more later….
The repubs are still working with the Russians…
Well…with the increasingly desperate attempts by the repubs to undermine the Mueller investigation into trump’s conspiracy with the Russians, the latest being the “explosive” memo created out of thin air by Trey Gowdy, one thing has to be remembered…that the Russians are STILL working with the repubs to undermine our democracy. During the campaign to get some traction for the lies in Gowdy’s memo, thousands of Russian bots were active on social media planting fake stories and trying to inflate the importance of the lying memo to undermine Mueller and to get people to believe there is something to the memo…just like the lies that were spread about Hillary’s e-mails by the same Russian bots….now, it is a little too much of a coincidence that thousands of Russian bots would take this effort up independently, so the question that Mueller needs to ask is “who in the repub party is still treasonously working with the Russians to subvert our democracy”….this question is for you, Trey Gowdy and Devin Nunes…you do know this is at least obstruction of justice? Can’t wait for the perp walk for these two….
Roads….
Well….I know it’s getting to be that time in Michigan where our roads start to fall apart from freezing and thawing…and I think I’ve found the worst road in GR when I was going out to Target to get some antihistamines…yow! There was one pothole that was almost 18 inches deep and it stretched across the entire lane…I was glad that I was paying attention and could swerve into the turn lane but the Honda behind me didn’t and I really expected it to stay in the hole….don’t think the Miata would take that kind of a hit….
Media bias?
Well….I know you’re probably tired about anything to do with the fake media bias that the repubs keep harping about, telling everyone all the time that it is biased against the right…well…not really true…but you know that….and all you have to do is look at the coverage of the women’s marches across the country that happened this weekend…from the coverage, you would think that there were 15 or 20 women total at all the marches, and there was absolutely no coverage on the Sunday shows of any of them…yeah…this is the true media bias….over 5 million women and men took to the streets to show their resistance to trump and his cronies and the destruction that continues by their ignorant, mysoginistic policies…and to keep the momentum up for voting in November. So, the next time someone on the right cries media bias, tell them to shut the hell up…I’m tired of hearing it….more later…
January 23rd
Well….running quite early today and I think getting up at 5:30 is the cause…slept okay last night but tossed and turned again with being good last night, but I feel okay today so that is something….but, I think I have a bug or the starting of one that I will have to monitor and treat if I need to….my lungs are kind of iffy right now and I was coughing like crazy yesterday afternoon but I wonder if it may have been from getting back on the bike and shaking all the crap loose….think I’m still under on calories for the past few days and I think that is that nothing tastes good anymore….this happens sometimes but I hope it goes away soon….it is a chore to eat when nothing tastes good….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and I will be trying to get some stuff done today…ran out of allergy stuff so I need to take a run over to Target to get another box….more later….
I’m sore…
Well…finally got back on the bike yesterday and today and I am quite sore from it…only did 12 miles on each day but it was a struggle to get through those….as I’ve bitched about before, an entire year’s fitness goes away fast…after only being off the bike for 4 weeks, I’m back to square one and I don’t like it….I may buy the new bike sooner than I expected since I am tiring of the Schwinn and would like to give my back a rest from all the pounding….today was really wet, too, and I was damn cold when I got back here since the trail was flooded in many spots…I guess I’m just cranky today for some reason…but, I do have riding later in the week to look forward to…in shorts on Friday maybe…..more later….
