Well…running on time today and I’m not sure why….got up a little before 6 and have been doing nothing since…need to just ease into the day today and have more coffee….at least my jaw is better this morning and I can open my mouth enough to eat today and I am going to make some ribs to celebrate…and that has to happen in a few minutes to cook them low and slow…I picked up some new rib rub that smells really good and I can’t wait to see how that works….I am enjoying riding the old bike and that is making me rethink buying a new one…oh, I talked about that yesterday….not much to do today…I should wash the car but I think I’ll wait til Monday to do that…it may rain today and with all the dust in the air, it would just be dirty again in a minute….more later….

Econ 101…
Well…the repubs hell bent on destroying the economy with more tax cuts for the rich and corporations, I thought it is time to go back and talk a little Econ 101. First, lets get to the nonsense that cutting taxes on the rich will trickle down and benefit everyone else…IT DOESN’T WORK….all of times this has been tried and everywhere it’s been tried, all it did was balloon the deficit or make sure that massive cuts to education, roads, and everything else had to happen…just take a look at the mess in Kansas when all of these stupid ideas were tried over the past two years and it cratered the economy there…so now doing the same thing to the whole country will make it work? Second, corporations have so much cash on hand that they just don’t know what to do with it, so why would a tax cut make them add workers? It is DEMAND that makes businesses expand and, with the lag in growth of consumer income and the resultant lack of demand, you could cut business taxes to zero and they would still not add any more jobs….and that is a fact, it’s not liberal bias, or the fake news that the modern repubs live on…it is a fact…but, as we know, facts don’t mean anything to these idiots…and they would never let facts get in the way of legislating their ideology….geez…
September 28th
Well…running a little late today…grocery run and all that…and I keep forgetting to do this before I go…not really forgetting but I guess once I get over the quota for the month, I slack off a little…slept okay last night and don’t feel too bad today but just sore from using new muscles on the old bike…I’m thinking of putting off getting a new bike until after the new year since the old one is fun to ride and the trails will probably ice up around the first of December….I did get over 2400 miles yesterday so I’ll probably end the year with around 2800 miles which is an average year for me….I have been grinding my teeth again at night and the pain in my jaw during the day yesterday was so bad that I could barely eat…but it is better today so that is a relief….not much to do today….going to clean some after the bike ride but that is about it….more later….

Well…if the overt racism from the idiot trump wasn’t clear enough for you before, here’s just one more bit of proof….not sure if you’ve heard of the Jones Act…a law passed in the 20’s that prevents foreign ships moving cargo between US ports….and a law that was waved for Texas and Florida when Harvey and Irma hit them…but now, when there are brown skinned people hurting, the idiot comes up with an excuse for not waiving the law….that shipping jobs will be lost if he waives the law….so, white people involved…waive away, brown people involved, can’t waive…it will cost jobs…is THIS enough, repubs? Is this sickening bullshit of not taking care of ALL American citizens enough? Nope, probably not…still…

Well…the idiot in chief went on tv yesterday and the result was pretty predictable…anytime he talked about Puerto Rico it was all about him…how he was doing such a good job in the relief attempts, how he was the most caring *president ever…that everything was fine and going to plan…well, I’ve got news for you, idiot…it’s NOT fine, no where near “fine”…the idiot spoke in the afternoon and last night on Rachael’s show, the mayor of San Jaun was on crying….that nothing is happening…people are still without food, water, or medical supplies….that children are dying in hospitals that have run out of generator fuel….and this is just the tip of the suffering…people are drinking out of polluted streams and there is still no food for the majority of the country and trump is not doing a damn thing except picking fights with NFL players…..it is still so bad that private citizens are making their private planes available to fly medical supplies into and cancer patients out so they can come to the states for chemotherapy…both Pitbull and Mark Cuban have sent their planes and pilots for the relief effort but the largest military in the world is still waiting on the idiot trump to allow them to help. Is this enough, republicans? Isn’t this sickening behavior enough for you to remove this asshole? Nope, probably not…again…
September 27th
Well…running a little late today and I just can’t get started…went out to have a couple with G last night and I wasn’t good when I got home so I guess I earned it…slept okay last night and even had some dreams that were quite weird but I don’t remember the details….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and today looks the same….just going to work out and ride the bike and then wait for Man U to play later….I think I didn’t eat enough yesterday with only a pork chop sandwich and two pieces of pizza for the whole day and that may be why I feel a little slow today….not much to do today….I think I may clean a little but my back is hurting from the old bike and I don’t want to aggravate it….more later….
Trump is letting Puerto Rico die…
Well…it would be one thing if it was only incompetence that is keeping trump and his minions from doing anything to help Puerto Rico….but we have the worst kind of combination that is going to kill many, many American citizens there…the combination of incompetence, racism and indifference…and this is proven by the statement from the WH that they will be putting forward a proposal on aid to PR in the first or maybe the second week of October…who knows? By then the children in the children’s hospital there will be dead from lack of power, water, and food…and hundreds of people on dialysis will be dead from the same…and hundreds, if not thousands of people will starve to death from this callous indifference to their plight from our so-called president…the bottom line is he just doesn’t give a damn about brown skinned people…no matter if they are citizens or not…and the people he put in charge of the government feel the same damn way….what a bunch of worthless assholes….what do you say now repubs? Is this blatant disregard for his responsibilities enough for you to impeach? Nope, probably not…
September 26th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I worked on the bike for quite a while trying to get the brakes working enough so I am sure of them….slept okay last night but I am still sore everywhere from the new/old bike and it looks like there will be aspirins before the ride today…didn’t get much done yesterday but working on the bike so I will have to do some cleaning today…there are two new developments going on around here and, without and rain to speak of, there is so much dust in the air that I can smell it in here…and my car looks like it is covered in mud when the dew hit it in the morning…not sure if I’m going to wash it until it rains some….not much to do today…probably going to go out and have a couple with G later but that is about it….more later….

Well…with the widespread protests against endemic racism throughout sports yesterday, and the fascist response to them by Richard Petty and Richard Childress, NASCAR team owners….threatening to fire anyone that works for them if they express their constitutional rights under the first amendment…it was heartening to read the statement put out twitter yesterday by Dale Earnhardt Jr….I’ve always respected Dale Jr. for his thoughtfulness and honesty, and yesterday, that respect grew when he tweeted this: “All Americans R granted rights to peaceful protests…Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable-JFK” Now, those are some powerful thoughts and I am sure that the troglodytes that infest the NASCAR community will just frickin hate them….Dale Jr. understands that injustice needs to be addressed and it is the right of all of us to do so in our own way…taking a knee during the anthem, or writing a little blog here, or hitting the streets when another person of color is murdered by police…it is what our country was founded on and, when the government won’t do anything to fix these problems, it is our right and responsibility to do what we can….thanks Dale….
Now I remember….
Well…have been chronicling the saga of getting the old bike running again and just finished the first long ride on it in almost 10 years…now I remember why I used to love riding it…it weighs about half of the mountain bike and it is so responsive…you just have to think where you want it to go and it goes there…I am really surprised how much of operating it came back to me in the first ride…how the non-index shifters have to be moved to get smooth shifts without any noise…and that is one of the really cool things about it…it is silent going down the road and I can put as much pressure on the pedals as I want without any skipping…it is a little jarring with no suspension but I was used to that by the end of the ride….when I look at it, it is the distilled essence of a bike, it’s design would be just as familiar in the 1890’s as it was in the 1970’s….I may be a little less happy tomorrow when the new muscle pain kicks in but it was a great ride today…maybe I won’t buy a new one…
