Well…not sure where I’m running today and I really don’t care…had an okay day yesterday and I got a few things done so that was cool….finally got the bugs off the kitchen floor and got some laundry done…and I need to do that again today…still trying to get my winter stuff put away…just have had no motivation lately and today is starting out the same….at least my back is better and it hasn’t hurt at all in a couple of days…other than when I get off the bike…have been mulling a long, long ride for sat….thinking of trying to do 100 miles just for the idea of doing it…I’ve done 30 a couple of times so far this year with no problems but 8 hours on the bike is a little daunting…we’ll see….not much to do today…going to meet up with C for a couple with him coming into town this aft so that should be cool….and it looks like storms, too, so I won’t be too bored….more later…

Sessions lawyers up…
Well…another day, another person in the idiot trump’s administration realizes that he needs a lawyer…just yesterday Jeff Sessions hired his own private attorney…for a bunch of idiots who continually screamed that Hillary’s administration would be the most corrupt in history, after Obama’s, there sure are a lot of lawyers being hired to defend them from what exactly? That they are too clean? That they follow the law too correctly? That they think there should be welfare for lawyers and they are doing their part to keep them working? Did anyone not think that this would be the logical conclusion of the repub thinking that the law doesn’t apply to them? After all, bush and his cronies weren’t prosecuted for admitting that they broke the law when they tortured people and no one that crashed the economy in 2008 was held accountable, so why would trump and his cronies think they would be for colluding with Russia to steal the election? Everyone else has to follow the law…but just the little guys….impeach….
June 21st
Well….it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…again…slept okay but no dreams again and that is the new norm….I think the bug is almost gone but I still didn’t have much energy yesterday…was just exhausted most of the day and that has been going on for a few days now…it was pretty cold last night and it is still only 51 degrees right now so it looks like a wait to get out on the bike today….maybe I’ll have some toast for breakfast today to see if the tiredness is from not eating enough….not much to do today….I am going to try to clean today since the dust is getting pretty thick and it is quite annoying….more later…
Oh, happy first day of summer….
The southwest shuts down from the heat….
Well…you’ve seen me talk about the effect that climate change is having on severe weather events here in the US but I have never seen what is happening in the southwest of the country right now. This afternoon, there will be no flights into or out of the southwest due to the record breaking heat that is predicted…from Phoenix to Las Vegas the temps are supposed to be from 120 to 126 degrees which is above the temperature ceiling of all aircraft that fly today. Yep, it is so hot that the entire southwest will be on lockdown this afternoon and the disruption to lives there will be severe….I’ve talked before about the need to not confuse weather with climate, but this extreme weather is driven by the warming climate just as the melting of the Antarctic glaciers is driven by it…and the rivers that are flowing off the glaciers have never been seen in the 100 years that observations have been taken there….so, the next time you hear a climate denier talk just shut them down with these two little facts…I’m an old guy and I’ve never seen a day when it was too hot for planes to fly…but tomorrow starts the summer and I’ll bet it won’t be the last time…..
June 20th
Well..getting moving early today since I got up pretty early…slept okay but on my right shoulder and it hurts like crazy today….and my lower back is stiff….cripes, I’m getting old….I did get some stuff done yesterday and I think that might be what is making some of the new pain in my back and shoulders….but, I think the bug is leaving finally and I do feel a little better this morning…still have the headache that I’ve had for a while but it is still not bad enough to take anything for it…man, this is just one big bitch session…not much to do today…I am going to clean the kitchen today with the dead bugs all over it and I think I’ll clean the new stove, too….more later….
Still feeling crappy….
Well…just wanted to do a short one on how I’m feeling right now…still feel pretty crappy today with just no energy and a huge headache that I’ve had for a few days now….I think I’m going to try taking something for the head here in a few minutes since it is so annoying…I did get the oil changed in the car this morning and it added almost 25 psi at idle so that was cool…and the oil that I use was on sale at Meijers this week…only 20 bucks for the 4 quarts I needed…I did look for the oil at the parts store but they want almost 9 bucks more for the same 4 quarts….the filter that I replaced felt like it weighed about 2 pounds with all of the dirt in it….so, it’s good I got that done today….probably won’t do much else today….just too fatigued…
I have a question…
Well..with the tragedy that happened off Japan the other day with one of our destroyers colliding with a container ship resulting in the death of 7 American sailors, I have one question: how the heck did the collision happen? The modern American destroyer has one of the worlds most powerful radars on it that can track hundreds of targets at once…how did they miss something as huge as a modern container ship? There has to be more to this story that I won’t speculate on until the investigation is over….just curious, I guess….

Well…not feeling too hot today and I know it’s that little but I’ve had the past few days…my entire system is just a little off and that is a little annoying…slept okay last night but still don’t have a lot of energy today so I think I’ll just take it easy today…was going to change the oil in the car but just don’t feel like it…didn’t get a lot done yesterday and it looks the same today….might even take the day off the bike today with how I feel….only heard from two of the kids yesterday and that is a little annoying, too….oh, well…need to get some coffee and read a little news…more later….
I am outraged….
Well…have been trying to keep the idiot trump out of my mind today but something I just read has pushed my outrage meter to 13….if you already didn’t know, there was a collision the other day between a container ship and one of our destroyers off the coast of Japan….and there were 7 sailors missing who have just been found dead in a flooded compartment of the ship. What was the supposed commander in chiefs response? This:

No sympathy for the families of the fallen, no empathy for their crewmates, just bullshit puffery from the idiot in chief…and this idiot was briefed on the deaths this morning…but just can’t be bothered to think about anything but himself…..if this doesn’t get you as outraged as I am…you must be one of the idiots that voted this idiot into office…impeach…
Father’s Day…
Well….had a few thoughts when I was out on the bike today about Father’s day…nothing earth shattering but just some thoughts…it’s been almost 50 years since my father died at only 56 years old…younger than I am now and that has always been strange to me…I wonder if he thought about the same kinds of things that I do at this age? Not sure since I really didn’t know him…with 9 kids, there really wasn’t a lot of one on one time…and you just didn’t talk much back then….I only really remember a couple of interactions with him…once, when I was around 10, he took me to his work at Associated Truck Lines and showed me some trailers that had the tops peeled back from hitting the underside of an overpass…and one other time, I was scheduled to pitch for my little league team and he grabbed a glove and warmed me up before I left for the field…I really didn’t know it at the time but now I remember that I really tried to impress him by throwing as hard as I could…and I could throw back then…until I hurt my shoulder…and I still have that pain to this day. Haven’t heard from any of my four yet today…but, I never wanted for any of them to make a big deal of the day…it’s really just Sunday to me….
