Well….it was a nothing day yesterday and I got nothing done…slept okay last night but had no dreams so that is a little disappointing…my back is a little better today but I am really grumpy since I haven’t been on the bike in a week…I do need to reset the computer on the bike to keep track of this years mileage….I have been successful in keeping the calorie intake down but that leaves my stomach a little hinky and irritated but I guess I’ll have to live with it…my back is a little better today and I have been wondering if it’s not my hip instead of my back…will have to think about that today…I did get to watch “The Hateful Eight” last night and I’m not sure if I liked it or not…kind of complicated and reminded me of “the Petrified Forest”…..not much to do today…going to watch soccer now and have more coffee but that is about it….more later…

Some good news in sports…
Well….not sure why I haven’t written about this yet but there has been some good news for the teams I follow over the past couple of days…starting with Michigan just pummeling Florida in their bowl game and it is even more delicious that they beat a Florida team…for some reason, I just don’t like the teams from Florida and 41-7 was a pretty good beatdown. A good way to head into next season….not sure they will do better than a 10-3 season like this year but I can always hope. In a huge surprise, Manchester United won a game for the first time in 8 games and they even played okay…not sure if they should keep van Gaal or not but they need to keep playing in a more up-tempo fashion like they still like the game…it hasn’t looked like any of them really wanted to be out there and that has to change. In the past few minutes, even the Red Wings won a game…not in a shootout or overtime, but in regulation….and that breaks a three game losing streak that they had to get out of since they were sliding down the table toward not making the playoffs….so, overall…not a bad couple of days for sports for me…needed one of those…
These idiots are always wrong…
Well…as you’ve heard me say before, whenever anyone on the right predicts something, you can be sure that the opposite will happen or, at the very least, they will be wrong. Just read an article that has a few laughers in it that I thought I’d pass on…to start off, we had a real, sitting senator, Mike Lee, go on the senate floor before the 2012 election and predict that if Obama was re-elected, gas prices would be at least $6.05 a gallon or even higher by 2015…now, I can’t remember that happening, can you? The second great prediction came from ole Mitt during the election campaign when he said that, if Obama was re-elected, unemployment would be stuck at 8% forever…now, not sure exactly what the rate is right now but I think it’s around 5%…wrong again idiots. Then we have the Donald predicting that, if Obama was re-elected, stocks would crash and the country would go broke…what did happen? Hmmmmm…the stock market is up 27% since the election…..wrong again, idiots. The last one is by ole Rushbo who confidently predicted that the economy was going to crash with the Dem run California declaring bankruptcy and taking the rest of the economy with it. Now, this one is a two fer with ole Rush being wrong on both points…California, with it reality-based economic policies, is now running a 4 billion dollar surplus and we’ve had years of growth in the economy…the chief idiot being really, really wrong…but, they all are…all the time…and no one calls them on it…the media has to get off it’s ass and start asking these questions…would be fun to watch…geez….
January 2nd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made some cash so there will be groceries this week…slept okay last night but no dreams to speak of so I won’t….with all of the sports on, I didn’t get anything done and today looks the same with Man U playing at 10 and then right into the Wings at 1….my back has been holding up so far but the twinges have started so it will get worse as the day goes on….I think I have a cold, too, so I won’t be doing a lot today…have been coughing this morning so there is something going on…just going to make tacos for lunch and then do a little cleaning….might just go out and ride the bike around the complex since the trails are covered with ice and snow…not much to do today….oh, I’ve already talked about what I’m going to do…so, going to go back to the couch and have more coffee…more later…
January 1st
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I didn’t get anything done…again….and today is going to much the same but I am going to make a little cash so that is cool…and lunch at Ming Ten so I won’t have to cook today….slept okay last night and had some weird dreams again that happened after I woke up…yeah…I was barely sleeping and there were dreams continuing and I don’t remember that happening before….it was an ugly night for sports last night with MSU and the Wings both being crushed so I have to hang my hope on Michigan today…I am looking forward to that game but will miss part of it since I will be out to lunch…I am going to do one on the new year starting later today but I don’t want to touch on that now….not much to do today….going to just veg until I need to head out and then it will be football the rest of the day….more later….
Last one for the year…
Well…needed to do one more to get to the goal for the month so I thought I’d get it done before the college playoffs start in a few minutes…it has been a year this year…lots of disappointments…lots of laughs…and a car that has gone another year without having to be repaired at all. I wonder why I’m still optimistic after more thousands of resumes out and no bite for more than 6 months…but what else do you do? The kids are all healthy and happy and that is pretty cool…and I’m going out to meet K for a couple in a little while to start the evening off…I am a little down since T is going to be gone on vacation for the next two weeks but she sure needs the recharge how hard she works…and I get new soap that she brings me from the Bahamas every year which is pretty cool….not sure what the new year will bring but at least I get another one and I get this weekend of football and movies and that, too makes me smile…so, we start this whole thing again tomorrow and we’ll see where it goes from here….
Lots of sports…
Well…today is going to be filled with lots of sports and I am looking forward to it…was surprised to find the US men’s junior hockey team playing this morning so that is starting my day off….and once football starts at 4, I’m basically glued to the couch with the Wings coming on at 6…a weird time for a game but that will be cool since they will be almost over by the time State plays at 8….I am looking forward to a quiet day today….not sure why I ever went out on NY eve…don’t like crowds and sitting on a comfy couch is just more attractive to me now….State is a 10 point underdog to Alabama and I think they like it that way…no one giving them a chance…but, I don’t think they are as good a team as their record says…pulling out two wins in the last seconds of games…I guess I’ll have to have a backup to watch if the game gets out of hand early….
December 31st
Well…running a little late this morning since Cheers and Jeers at Kos was longer than normal and I wanted to read it before I got to this…slept okay last night and had weird dreams that had my old, old Motorola flip phone and my new battery booster in it…yeah, and the rest of it was ever weirder but I don’t remember much of it….my back is a little better today and I think the ibuprofen worked to get some of the inflammation down in the muscles so I think I’ll keep that up today and see if I can get a pain free day….didn’t do much else yesterday but I did try to get a bike ride in and that didn’t work with the trail covered in ice and snow…and it looks like I won’t be able to get on it until next week unless I want to ride on the road and I don’t…not much to do today…it is going to be a sports day with the Wings and State playing later…I may even watch the early playoff game, too so it looks like a pretty veggie one for me…two more later…
Don’t want to write about Trump…
Well….most of the time, I really don’t know what the hell the Donald is talking about and that makes it hard to comment on…but, this past week, talking about the tragedy in San Bernadino, ole Donald went off about the Muslin culture saying that there were people that knew what the killers were going to do…that they saw “the bombs all over the floor” but no one said anything about it…and he goes on to lament that no one “turned them in” and he blamed all Muslims everywhere…lets turn that around a little to the Donald’s buddies in the financial community who crashed the economy…probably Donald himself…who saw what was going on and no one in that “culture” “turned them in”…or the white supremacists who knew what Dylan Roof was going to do and no one in that “culture” “turned him in”….this is just the typical racist crap that Trump spouts every day to gin up outrage in his racist followers….in fact, almost every time that someone from the Muslim “culture” is arrested for a terrorist plot, they were ‘turned in” by other Muslims…..so let’s just stop listening to this idiot…I’ll do my part by not writing about him anymore…geez…
December 30th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I got some things done for a change…the bathroom is now spider-free for the first time in weeks and I can see in the mirrors…it really wasn’t that bad but the shower did need a cleaning…slept okay last night and feel okay today…but my back is starting to make me angry…the day starts out okay and then the pain comes on as the day goes on…it is better than it was and one ibuprofen knocks most of the pain down so I guess I shouldn’t bitch too much….I am a little grumpy with not being able to get on the bike for the third day today but I may suit up and just go take a look to see how covered the trails are…not going to be warm enough to melt them for the next couple of days so I guess I won’t get to 3K miles for the year…only 35 miles short so that’s okay…not much to do today…going to clean some more and watch some soccer but that is about it….more later….
