Well…I have been digesting the SOTU that Biden gave Tuesday night and I was not surprised at all…the right wing propaganda that has been pushing the lie that Joe is too old and senile to even walk was exploded as he delivered a Joe speech…lots of truth and empathy and guess what you didn’t see…yep, attacking his “enemies” and bragging that he was able to put his shoes on that morning that you got from TFG…and that was a refreshing thing to hear…policy that will help the country and getting his agenda out on the floor so he can point to it as he succeeds getting some of it passed…now, I’m enough or a realist to know that the repub attacks and obstructionism will continue, but to paint Joe with being naive is just wrong, he still wants to try to find some reasonable people on the other side of the isle but I know he is experienced enough to know that is probably not going to happen…but being a good guy, he has to try…overall, I would rate it a great speech but that is not a surprise anymore…Joe has shown that he is up to it and his passion for what he does always comes through…good job….

Chelsea is for sale…
Well…okay folks, this one is about soccer so you may want to skip it unless you’ve found new interest in the English football game by watching Ted Lasso…so, it looks like Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch is going to sell the Chelsea football club and to hear him say it, it is all about his love for the club and English football…I guess the trial balloons about putting the club in trust crashed as the probability of sanctions against him grow by the day and that would mean that he would lose the club and any other assets he has in England….and that includes a couple of huge estates and the normal huge yacht that all of the oligarchs have….now, I will say that he has said the proceeds from the club will be donated to the victims of the Ukraine invasion but who is going to trust him when he has not come out against Putin since most of his cash is from being in the inner circle of Russian business and you don’t get to be a Russian billionaire without Putin approving it and and having a continuing relationship with him….so, let’s take all of this supposed concern for the Ukrainians with a supertanker sized grain of salt…I think he is just trying to avoid the sanctions that are coming and is scrambling to keep some cash when they hit….geez….
Russian bots are dead….
Well…I haven’t seen much of this reported other than in small comments about the facets of the Russian attack on the Ukraine but it does bleed over into what they are still doing to attack the US and sow discord while trying to exploit the natural divisions in our society. Once the attack on Ukraine started, one of the things that happened was the shut down of access to twitter and other social media sites in the US, and…surprise surprise…once that happened, the comments, likes, and retweets that were supposed to be coming from the US criticizing Biden and stirring up hate plummeted…to the point of disappearing completely…so gee, I wonder where those comments were coming from? Could it be….Russia? This is all of Russia’s plan to use Facebook, Twitter, and every other social media to attack the US and the owners of this media sit on their hands and do nothing about it…especially when they get rich from the ads that come with it…so now, we know that the dems want to do something about it by holding these folks accountable…but not a damn word from the repubs since we all know they benefit from the chaos and hate these bots foster by the dupes giving them money and the repubs amplifying the Russian propaganda that these bots swamp our society with. So, when you see comments supporting this right wing crap, just understand it’s not real people supporting them…it’s the Russian bots amplifying these unpopular ideas….I wonder what the repubs will do now with them being silenced? They sure won’t get any more bot “likes” to their bullshit….geez….
It’s all connected….
Well…when you look at the economy and how well it is doing, you would never know it by Biden’s approval rating which is hovering at 37%….and no matter what he does, record job growth, huge wage gains, repairing out standing in the world, no one knows it with how the media is focusing on bullshit and never even reports on any good things going….and, it hit me this morning that this hiding of Biden’s good achievements, most of the inflation, and focusing on the “failures” of the Biden administration is all connected….since most of the media in this country is run by repubs for repubs, it is just one facet of the attack that is going on against him right now…and inflation is the second…it is well known that prices are not rising for any reason other than business is taking excess profits and the whole inflation story is just a cover for that…look, when Starbucks could give each and every one if it’s employees a five thousand dollar bonus and still have 2.6 billion in profit left over…why the heck are they raising prices? And why are they fighting unionization so hard when they could easily afford everything that the workers are asking for and still be rolling in profit…it’s all about trying to take advantage of the inflation story that the repub editors have decided, in consultation with business owners, is going to be pushed all day every day both to give them cover for stealing more from their customers and to hurt any dem administration so they can get another repub in office who will let them steal everything and never pay any taxes at all. It really doesn’t matter how much they hurt the US while pulling this crap since they have no allegiance other than to themselves and their money…and all of this is connected into the web of deceit that they will use to continue to take more and more…people need to wake up to these connections and try to seek out the truth instead of just listening to the talking heads that go on and on about the price of gas when it’s all just gouging the people…and of course it’s Biden’s fault…geez…
The media needs to give Joe credit…
Well…if you were to listen to the media in this country, you would think that every move from every country against the Russian invasion of Ukraine just happened out of thin air with no work at all by anybody. I think there is such a thing as a lie by omission where they are purposely not reporting on all of the work the Joe Biden and his administration have done to herd these cats into the solid wall of opposition to Putin that we see reported every day…do you think that anyone else could have gotten everyone on the same page as Joe has done? Nope, it has been a masterful exercise in listening to and respecting our allies enough so they feel they have a real say in what is happening…could you imagine what would have happened if trump was still running the show? Not one of our allies would event take his phone calls let alone put the full force of their countries into getting weapons into Ukrainian hands and then signing on to the coordinated sanctions regime that is cratering the Russian economy and causing the ruble to be worth basically nothing…could you imagine idiot boy getting the Swiss to abandon their neutrality and levy their own sanctions against Russia? Or getting Sweden and Finland close to joining NATO? Never would have happened…and the idiot would have used this opportunity to bad mouth and try to destroy NATO not strengthen it as Joe has done. Joe’s work has been the most masterful job of diplomacy in my lifetime and will result in Putin losing everything…and not a damn day too soon…geez…
Ukraine’s big problems started with Manafort and trump…
Well….if you think that this invasion of Ukraine started just recently, you’re wrong….Putin’s meddling started long ago…even before he started screwing with our elections in 2016…and Paul Manafort and trump were essential in trying to give Ukraine to Putin but weren’t successful…or as successful as Putin wanted and that meant making Ukraine a client state that he could dictate to and basically run to his every whim and plunder as he wanted….and when trump tried to extort Zelensky into making up dirt on Biden, it was all part of the disrespect that trump telegraphed that was taught to him by Putin…and since he was such a sycophant, trump was more than happy to treat them like crap like they had no worth….not like the democracy they are. With trump showing Putin that the US didn’t care about Ukraine for 4 years, Putin thought that was still the policy of the US and the EU no matter who was the in charge since we didn’t to anything at all when he invaded the Crimea….so he assumed that Ukraine wasn’t important to anyone and he could do the same there…but, it is not 2014 and trump is not in charge…we now have a president who understands that making partnerships with our allies is extremely important and you can see that with the almost monolithic response to Putin’s thuggery that is due to Biden and his team’s work….now we just need to keep it up and make Putin pay for his decades of bullshit…geez…
Brave frickin Ukranians….
Well…just had to do one on the stories coming out of Ukraine about the bravery of these people in the face of Russian attacks…the first one that I read about was about a sixty something woman standing in front of a group of Russian soldiers and she told these guys with their AK-47s to make sure they put sunflower seeds in their pockets so flowers would grow when their bodies are buried in Ukrainian soil…then there is the “Ghost” a pilot in the Ukrainian air force who has shot down at least 10 Russian planes and all he does is patrol, shoot, and go back to his base to refuel and reload and back into the battle…flying an outdated Soviet reject fighter this man takes on the “best” the Russians have to offer and is decimating them…you want “Top gun?” here is a real one…then a sad story about how dedicated the Ukrainians are when it is to protect their home….a major in the Ukrainian army was setting charges on the main bridge that the Russians were using to invade from the south to blow it up so they couldn’t use it to attack his friends and family…and when he couldn’t use a delayed timer so he could get away before it blew, he stood there and set off the charges knowing he would die….but he stopped the southern invasion force that was heading to Kyiv….and the last one, an 80 year old Ukrainian man showed up at an army recruiting center with 2-t shirts and an extra pair of pants in his bag asking them to allow him to help defend his country….this makes me believe that there is still good in the world and makes the assholes who “protest” mask mandates since it is taking away their “freedom” should look at what fighting for real freedom looks like…and it ain’t them….geez…
A great pick…
Well…you know, when a dem president gets the chance to nominate someone to the Supreme court, it’s never someone like “I like beer” Kavanaugh or the blank slate liar like Barrett, and Biden’s pick of Ketanji Brown Jackson shows that in glaring neon lights….what a great pick…Ms. Brown is someone who has served as a clerk for retiring justice Stephen Breyer, has criminal defense experience, and is someone who can bring to the court and wide experience in how the law affects people’s lives…and does not believe in the “originalist” bullshit that the right uses to destroy settled law like Roe but will interpret the law as resilient as time changes the circumstances of the law….oh, and I didn’t mention she will be the first African American woman on the court that will also bring that experience and knowledge to the right wing majority of the court who feels, like Roberts does, that racism no longer exists in this country…while the repubs pass racist voter suppression laws all over the country after the Roberts court gutted the VRA. I am pretty excited with this pick because Biden didn’t fall into the repub talking point that he should nominate a conservative dem to the court…that is not what the court needs…what it needs is someone who understands what the law means to real lives…and in Ms. Jackson he has that jurist…what a great pick….
Couldn’t have made a bigger mistake….
Well…with the moron Putin invading Ukraine and the world’s response to it, it looks like he couldn’t have made a bigger mistake….starting with Ukraine shooting down at least 7 Russian aircraft and the widespread protests across Russia against the invasion, there are even reports that there have been some Russian troops who have surrendered once they understood that their mission was to kill Ukrainians. Let’s add to those events the fact that the Russian stock exchange is down almost 45% since the invasion started and sanctions are coming fast and hard from all across the globe including cutting Russia off from the world banking system and the start of sanctions against Putin’s cronies that include seizing their offshore bank accounts where they have stashed all of the cash they’ve stolen from the Russian people…and almost every country has ceased allowing any Russian to get a visa to travel…so no business or pleasure travel until Putin gives up his thuggery…oh, and to Putin’s big reason for invading that was to stop Ukraine’s joining of NATO and it’s expansion? It appears that Sweden and Finland are meeting with NATO today to talk about membership that would ensure that if Putin tries any bullshit with them, section 5 would be triggered and that means that if they are attacked, it is an attack on everyone in NATO and there is no way Putin can deal with that. So, moron, nice job, Putin…this is going to go down in history as one of the biggest mistakes ever made and I think it will mean the downfall of Russia for good….and the Hague is waiting for you if you ever leave Russia again for the war crimes you are committing right now….very smart, asshole…
Not enough sanctions…
Well…with the bullshit that Putin is pulling in Ukraine…just announcing that he recognized two regions as being independent countries…after he spent the past 5 years attacking those provinces by sending Russian soldiers disguised as Ukrainians in to cause mayhem and give him an excuse to send in un-disguised troops that is essentially an invasion based on lies…and the rest of the world, other than China, is standing together to make Putin pay for his unlawful behavior. But, with the sanctions that have been announced by both the US and the EU along with the UK, I still don’t think there are enough of them and I don’t think they are targeting the right people…I do agree with going after the banks in Russia and all of the Duma who voted to give Putin permission to invade…but I also think the next round that should be announced today in my opinion, should go after all of the oligarchs who have been Putin’s cronies and have stolen all of the wealth of Russia over the past 20 years…and that should start by seizing every damn villa, super yacht, bank account, and everything else of these thieves and make sure they can’t travel anywhere in the world or they will be arrested as part of the plot against Ukraine. So, I’m waiting, Biden…and the EU…get after it and make the pain for Russia so great it’s economy crashes and then maybe the people of Russia will get tired of his crap…it’s happened before…geez…
