Well…I’m not sure if any of you read about this but it put a big smile on my face…some time last week, as I was reading the news, I came across an article about a woman here in Michigan who is getting a petition drive up to put a woman’s control of her own body on the ballot and enshrine those rights in our constitution…and with almost 70% of the people here supporting a woman’s right to choose, if she can get enough signatures on the petitions, which I will gladly sign, we can finally take this weapon away from the repubs here and make sure they can never make women second class citizens again. I think this is a reaction the almost certain overturning of Roe by the right wing zealots on the SC…taking away a right that women have had sine the 70’s…something that has never happened in the history of the country…but that doesn’t matter to the right wing hacks on the SC…every one of who promised that Roe was “settled law” and they would follow precedent and leave it in place….but every damn one of them lied their asses off during their confirmation hearings and that should be enough to remove them from the court. This is what comes from reps who only serve a small minority of the country trying to jam their religion down our throats…we will find a way to fight back…and this amendment is the best way I’ve seen…geez…

Rooting against America at fox news…
Well…if you watched fox news Thursday evening or Friday morning, you saw every damn one of those ghouls rooting their damndest for America to fail on job creation…with the comfy couch assholes just gleefully predicting that we probably would lose up to 300K jobs and blaming Biden for what I don’t know but blame they did…and that doocy ass who is daily shredded by Jen Psaki at the WH briefing was standing outside the WH calling Biden a failure and predicting Joe would try to spin the job losses by saying he had created more jobs in his fist year than any other president…but that doesn’t matter anymore because losing 300K jobs is so bad that it offsets the gains of the past year…you see where I’m going here, right? Yep, the meme they were pushing fell apart spectacularly when job gains of 467K were announced for January and November and December were revised up by almost 700K jobs gained…and you know what happened next, right? Yep, fox completely stopped talking about jobs and went straight into their puff pieces on the asshole truckers in Canada who are protesting vaccine mandates and spouting even more outrage at the January 6th committee…normal stuff for them when their propaganda is stuffed right back down their throats by the truth…god I hate those assholes…geez…
Biden is doing it right…
Well…damn, what a difference a real president makes on the world stage…as Putin rattles his sabers and threatens Ukraine with an invasion if they don’t roll over for him and stop working with the west to guarantee their sovereignty, can you imagine what would be happening if the idiot boy was still in office? Yep, he would be rolling over for Putin and half of Ukraine would be Russian territory by now…but, Biden is not taking any of Putin’s bullshit and is working with NATO to respond to his threats with the only thing he understands…power…and we are making it clear what the cost will be if he does invade…the Russian economy will be crashed and it will cost him billions personally…and he won’t have a reconstituted USSR that is his real aim. I understand the people who are protesting and have sent letters to Biden opposing war in Ukraine, but appeasement of people like Putin just doesn’t work…and I think that Putin is thinking in terms of the previous guy who was so scared of everything and his administration was so incompetent that he could basically do whatever he wanted anywhere in the world with no consequences…and that is no longer true when you have a competent president who truly values our allies and works with them as a team to meet Putin’s blustering…no matter what China says….why they are supporting Putin on trying to stop NATO expansion, I don’t know but I think it is more a sharp stick in the eye to a newly muscular American foreign policy…and it costs China nothing as they try to extend their influence across the world…so, I think Biden is doing it right and I hope he keeps it up…

Well..it finally looks like people are getting tired of Facebook pushing hate and supporting right wing fascists across the world….over the past few days, facebook stock has lost about 25% of it’s value and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person as Mark Zuckerberg…that means the market cap of facebook has dropped by 200 billion dollars and poor old markie himself has lost 24-26 billion dollars in the past week…and it’s all because people are getting tired of facebook’s bullshit and markie’s love of everything repub and have been leaving it in droves….I’ve never been able to understand the allure of facebook and the only reason I have an account is that the Miata club I belong to moved over to facebook from Yahoo but I very seldom use it for anything else other than to wish people happy birthday and to post photos of the progress on the house….I sure as hell don’t get my news from it since it has been proven that ole markie has built algorithms that overwhelmingly push right wing bullshit in it’s news feed over the facts or truth…so, people…keep it up…keep leaving facebook and keep making ole markie pay…maybe some day he’ll be that has been that people point at and laugh…it can’t come soon enough…
I’m beginning to hate the NYT…
Well…damn, I’m not sure who is running the New York times but there has been so much bullshit bothsiderism that it is squandering the hundred plus years of great journalism that made it the “paper of record”….throughout the Hillary Clinton e-mail non scandal, they had breathless coverage of the nothing that it was every damn day and they were responsible for getting the idiot trump elected with all of that crap…and today, they had a huge article about how badly we are doing controlling the covid virus with more cases and deaths than any other country….and, because they are kissing the right wings ass constantly, they tried to cover up the reason for our poor performance…every damn report from the CDC, the NIH, and every other study highlights one thing, the vaccination plateau we have reached where almost every dem is vaccinated and boosted by only 52% OF repubs are…and they act like the reason for that just can’t be figured out and they leave it at that…and that is the problem..it CAN be figured out and yet they just don’t want to say it…it is fox news and the daily loads of misinformation that come from it and the whole right wing ecosystem that are actively trying to keep the pandemic going to hurt Joe Biden…it’s as simple as that…the repubs are willing to kill for political gain and that is the cynical calculation they are making every day…to sacrifice their own voters for the next election…why can’t the NYT write that? Because the owners are also making a cynical calculation to keep in the good graces of right wing billionaires who infest this country…and let’s put it bluntly, the NYT has been sliding to the right for decades now and no one left there has any journalistic integrity anymore..the truth is the truth and it doesn’t need to be analyzed or put in context or anything else…just frickin print the truth…that trump tried to overthrow the government or that fox news is responsible for the anti vaccine bullshit that is pushed on every one of it’s shows…geez….
Trump is certifiably nuts…
Well…man, I am shaking my head at how nuts the idiot boy’s latest rant is..it’s not enough that he confessed to plotting and carrying out the coup on multiple occasions over the past week…and now new documents that were part of the trove of them that idiot boy was trying to hide from the public with lawsuit after lawsuit that culminated in the SC voting 8-1 to release them to the January 6th committee, show that at least three times trump tried to get various parts of the government to seize all the voting machines, ballots, and any other information that said he lost the election. But the most twisted part of what is called logic from the idiot is that now he thinks that Mike Pence should be investigated by the January 6th committee for not trying to overthrow the government…yep, in that shriveled walnut that trump calls his brain he has come to the idea that because Pence didn’t break the law and support his coup, he should be investigated for it…never mind that idiot boy has called the committee various childish names and still feels it is just a “witch hunt” against him, forgetting that he is not president, now he wants to use it against the person he feels is most responsible for him not being president any longer…and you may ask what is Pence’s response to this new slam against him? Nothing…he still is afraid of going up against the diminished, delusional moron and will never say a word against him even though trump’s followers tried to find him and hang him…I still wonder why the DOJ is still sitting on it’s hands after the umpteenth confession by the idiot boy, cripes, I could make the case against him in court and I’m not a lawyer…geez…
Is this enough to arrest him?
Well..after his Nazi rally over the weekend where the idiot trump threatened the prosecutors across the country who are investigating him and then following it up with a written admission that he was behind the January 6th attacks and trying to overturn the election…my only question is: Isn’t this enough to arrest him? I mean, with his admissions and all of the evidence that show his criminal behaviors, why the hell isn’t he sitting in a jail cell right now? If you or I threatened a DA who was investigating us, you can bet your ass we’d been in the klink awaiting trial so why is Garland letting him run free to try to incite riots if he is indicted? I think it’s bullshit that there is any political calculation here…there are crimes that idiot boy needs to be held responsible for and politics has nothing to do with it…did they think of the political considerations when they arrested John Gotti or any other criminal? Garland is destroying the rule of law in this country by letting trump dare the justice department to come after him while he sits on his hands and nothing happens…and it all traces back to him…if he doesn’t have the guts to go after idiot boy, then he should resign and let someone take over who will uphold the law no matter who the lawbreaker is…and it needs to happen now…it’s already been over a year since January 6th 2020 and that’s too long to let these crimes fester in the body politic…geez…
The ERA has been ratified…
Well…not sure what is going on but I’ve only read one article on what I think is a big damn deal…this week, the Equal rights Amendment to the Constitution was deemed to be ratified by the Office of Legal Counsel of the department of justice which makes it the 28th amendment to the constitution….and the decades of trying to enshrine the rights of women to be equal to those of men has finally been started by this adoption…it has been a long and hard fight that has been pressed by generations of women across this country and has been fought at every step by white men who think that women are things to be owned and controlled and inherently have no rights other than those given to them by these men….and this crap goes on here in 2022 with laws written by men that limit the control that women have over their own bodies and that are exploding in repub controlled states across the country….and when the repubs take over states that have ratified the amendment, the first thing they do is try to de-ratify it…just like they did to the 14th and 15th amendments that were ratified just after the Civil war and that the supreme court has rejected time after time…imagine that, this same party has not grown past the 1870’s where they objected to the 14th amendment that grants equal protection under the law…and the repubs didn’t want equality then and they sure don’t want women to be equal to them now. I will be interested to see how the repubs fight now to keep this amendment from being implemented…I’m sure it will go all the way to the supreme court and with the right wing assholes that sit on the court and ignore precedent in their ongoing efforts to push their right wing ideology, it is still going to be a hard fight since these idiots don’t think that anyone should have rights except repubs…geez…
Right wing book banning…
Well…if you’ve seen the news lately, you would have seen that repub controlled school boards across the country are making it their only reason for being to ban books they don’t like, mostly by people of color or that shine a light on the racism in this country…with their rationale being that kids shouldn’t be exposed to the Holocaust or anything that might make them uncomfortable. Damn, I am so tired of these snowflakes trying to keep kids from understanding what the world is really like…from slavery to the cold war to rampant discrimination to fascism, they don’t want children to know the reality of the world since they think that knowing history or difficult concepts that will shine a light on reality will harm them in some way or make them ashamed of being white…yep, that’s a big part of it…they just don’t want white kids to know that their ancestors were responsible for the slave trade and Jim Crow on to the discrimination that still exists now…look, when I was 8 or nine years old, I bought the book “Fail Safe” from the Scholastic book club that came around to schools and made books available to everyone in grade school….now, that book was about the possibility of a military officer taking it upon himself to leave his fail safe point and drop a hydrogen bomb on Moscow…which was one of the fears that we all had growing up during the cold war where we could die any day we woke up…but the twist was, to prevent an all out nuclear war, the commander of US forces made a deal to drop a bomb on New York city to make up for Moscow….and the searing part of it was that his family was in NYC that day and he had to sacrifice them for the good of the world….this drove home to me that leadership sometimes meant doing the right thing at great personal cost but honor and duty required that choice….now, this was a deep concept for an 8 year old but one that helped shape me throughout my life….and the thing was that no one banned that book and it was not too tough for an 8 year old to understand and I think the same goes for today…I mean banning “to Kill a Mockingbird” since it shows the widespread racism and it’s effects on black people in the south in the 30’s? That’s something that every person in this country needs to know since progress on race in this country has been fitful at best…and it’s best if children are taught these concepts before their views harden as they get older…geez…
Justice Breyer is retiring….
Well…there was some good news about the supreme court yesterday when Justice Breyer, one of the only 3 judges left who actually follow the law, announced he will be retiring at the end of the present term at the end of June…and that means the Joe Biden will be able to appoint a justice that is not pushed by the Federalist Society, the right wing organization that has funneled millions and millions of dollars into the fight to get only unqualified right wing ideologues on the court. I almost laughed when I heard Susan Collins, who backed jamming Barrett through to the court in the last 30 days before the dems took over the senate, opine that there is no need for speed in getting the next justice appointed…yeah, since they already did it for one of their pet justices but it’s different now…the dems are in control so she thinks they should delay and delay until the possibility of the repubs taking the senate back in November so McConnell can steal a 4th seat. Luckily, Chuck Schumer is using the Barrett appointment as a template for getting the next justice through and will use exactly the same timetable as McConnell did…and we need to play hardball to make sure we get a true progressive that is not beholden to business and the right wing of this country…so, I am waiting to see how this all comes together over the summer…and to see if Clarence Thomas’s wife Ginny is indicted for her part in the January 6th insurrection…and she was all over the conspiracy so she should be….geez…
