Well…after the repubs spent the first 6 months after the election trying to prevent dem voters from voting by almost 300 voter suppression laws, it looks like Joe is finally getting the idea that this is the most important thing to get done…part of the new emphasis I think came from the 50 dem Texas legislators who fled the state to DC to prevent the worst laws of all of them from being passed there…and who have been threatened with arrest from Texas’ governor for their actions. This afternoon, Joe is giving what is being called the most important speech of his administration and will be calling out the repubs as the un American pricks they are….and here’s the thing, they really are trying to steal the country since they have no ideas that anyone except for their rabid base likes…taxing the rich to pay for infrastructure and elder care is supported by 80% of Americans and yet that was the first thing the repubs wanted out of the infrastructure bill….and making it harder to vote is only supported by their fox news watching cult followers…where more than 65% of Americans want voting easier. So, as with the rest of us on the left, we need to keep up the pressure on every legislator to pass this voter protection legislation…or we will lose our democracy forever….geez…

A few things…
Well…darn, just finished up all the work I had to do today and it’s almost 2pm….one little thing that has been under the radar after it was announced last week is the fact that Joe Biden’s administration is going to go after monopolies and consolidation in business and is going to be much less inclined to approve mergers that lead to it. I really hope he addresses the consolidation in the media, too, since I think there are about 4 companies that control all of the radio in this country….I guess even fox news is getting tired of trump lying about his election loss and they even ran a streamer basically saying there was not voter fraud in the 2020 election while the idiot boy was giving a speech to the q anon convention over the weekend….or I wonder if it is the 2 billion dollar plus lawsuits that are still pending from the voting machine companies they have been slandering since before the election…..the sanctions hearing that is going on here in Michigan about the unfounded lawsuits that trump lawyers brought about the election trying to overturn the results and appear to be entirely based on the fevered dreams of repub voters is not going well for them….at the very least the judge thinks the lawyers should have checked to see if they were true before filing the suits but the opposing lawyers think they shouldn’t have to…and it has devolved into a shouting match that is not a thing any smart lawyer would avoid…but trump’s lawyers have never been too smart….that’s it for now…
Why would they do this?
Well….when I read about all of the vaccine/virus denial and lies coming out of right wing news, the question comes to my mind is why would they do this? What’s in it for them to make sure that their listeners get the virus? Is it just stoking the outrage machine they need to keep their viewers coming back for more? I have never seen a safe, effective vaccine vilified as the covid one is and you would think there would be a clear reason for this coordinated attack…I know part of it is to attack Joe Biden…but the line of the attack they are using is so incoherent that the only thing you can draw from it is “vaccine bad” and saving lives by figuring out how to get more vaccine into more arms is like Nazism….this is how far the repub party has fallen in my lifetime…it is now run by cranks and crackpots who have no problem causing people to die by their lies…and what for? What could possibly be a net gain for them to kill off their own people? I still don’t get it….morons…
Stupid republicans…
Well…with the latest studies that show that 99.8 % of covid deaths from the delta variant occurring in unvaccinated people, all I have to say is stupid, stupid republicans since the overwhelming number of unvaccinated people are republicans. The latest polls show that almost 80% of dems have been vaccinated and many others still plan to be but only about 43% of repubs have been and there is really no group of them that plan to be vaccinated in the future….it is still a “hoax” to them and they think that the vaccine will turn them in liberals I guess….so, to “own the libs” many more of them are willing to die to prove some point that escapes me…and there are even many of the right wing nuts on fox news still shouting that they will never be vaccinated, and even the senator from Wisconsin is spouting conspiracy theories on tv about them, further hardening the opposition to the vaccines in the right wing sphere. You know, maybe we should just let them not be vaccinated and live with the consequences…or die with the consequences since that is what is going to happen to a lot of them as the delta variant is taking over cases in the US…stupid, stupid republicans…geez…
3 million bucks for a lie…
Well…I’m not sure if you’ve been following the “audit” that is going on with the 2021 votes in Arizona, but the latest news should really, really piss off the taxpayers there…the SOS there has just revealed the every voting machine, and every tabulating machine that has been handled by the frauds who are trying to find votes for trump and overturn the certified results of the election are going to have to be replaced since the security of the machines have been ignored and any random person could have gotten access to them and rigged them to not reflect the real totals of the votes…something that the repubs doing the counts can’t be trusted to not do. So, for one (democratic) county in Arizona, the taxpayers are going to be out over 3 million dollars based on the big lie that there was voter fraud in the election…and now the same thing is happening in Pennsylvania and other repub states across the country…I think they may try it here in Michigan but that might have been stopped by the repub senate report out last week that there was no voter fraud here in Michigan. It is just bullshit that taxpayers have to foot the bill for repubs delusional conspiracy theories…but, I can write the ads for dems about this crap….and I hope dems across the country use this waste of money to hammer the repubs in 2022…geez…
190 traitors…
Well…I wonder how many repubs in the House were actually involved with carrying out the attack on January 6th? With their vote against the January 6th commission this week, it would appear that there are 190 traitors in the house…that’s how many voted against the investigation with the disingenuous explanation that the attackers were just “tourists” that didn’t do anything wrong so the attack doesn’t need to be investigated…now, if the 500 people that have been charged in the plot didn’t do anything wrong, how have they been charged with multiple crimes? Even the idiot trump is getting into the act calling for the officer who shot and killed one of the attackers to be “lynched” at one of his fascist rallies last weekend….if I were any of these repubs, I’d be shaking a little about what is going to be found…at the very least many of them were involved in supporting the attackers through the big lie and many still spout that lie every day…get over it morons, trump lost…and you are going to when the truth comes out….
This is scary…
Well…just read a pretty scary article about the drought that has been widespread across the west where the rivers are essentially drying up with the lack of snow and rainfall and if conditions stay this way for much longer, places that depend on these rivers like Phoenix will become unlivable…and this is not something that is going to happen in the far future, but in the next decade or so. But that’s not the scary part, since droughts usually end at some point, water conservation and changes in lifestyle can get you through until the rains and snow come back….but this new study paints a much more dire picture, that climate change is causing the aridification of most of the west and the deserts that were once confined to the southwest are going to spread north to Colorado and that these changes are going to be permanent, making much of the west uninhabitable at the population density it now supports. and we have one party in this country that doesn’t even believe that any of this is happening, even though they can readily see that the Colorado river behind the Hoover dam is down almost 150 feet and towns that were flooded when the lake was filled are re-appearing since the water is so low. Soon, there won’t even be enough water to generate electricity from the dam and that will impact Las Vegas…but, they still do nothing…even repub reps from the states that are drying out still don’t care and are still blocking doing anything about it….one study says that with new information and data on the amount of heating it may already be too late to fix it even if we stop burning fossil fuels right now….but still the repubs will do nothing as the country burns…
Boy, the trumps are stupid…
Well…with the indictment of the trump organization and of the head guy Weisselberg for tax evasion on millions of dollars of cars, apartments, private schools, and lots of other things, you would think that the people who own the organization would have lawyers telling them to shut the hell up and not make it worse…but not with the whole family of idiots who are the trumps…every damn one of them has been all over tv saying that giving all this stuff to an employee for free is just how it’s done and it’s no big deal the company or Weissleberg didn’t pay taxes on this compensation….actually admitting that yep, they did break the law…even the idiot trump tried to belittle the charges by admitting that what the indictment says is true by saying it was just a car, who pays taxes on cars? Then the person who “knows more about taxes than anyone in the world” pouts and asks at his fascist rally Friday..”does anyone know about taxes?” These are some seriously stupid people…basically admitting they broke the law but they truly think this is just a PR problem, that if they try to minimize the offenses, which are felonies by the way, they will again get off with just a few fines and they can buy their way out like they have for their whole lives….so, keep it up morons, keep admitting to breaking the law on tv and when it’s your time to be charged, these interviews will be admitted as evidence that you knew what was going on and then when you lie to the prosecutors, they can add perjury to the pile of charges that are coming…geez…what a bunch of dopes….
I hope Cy Vance knows what he’s doing…
Well…there is news leaking out of Cy Vance’s office as we wait for charges to be filed in the case against the trump organization and it doesn’t sound good for those of us who want these criminals behind bars the rest of their lives…the first charges are scheduled to be revealed tomorrow and they appear to be minor at the very least having to do with free cars and other two bit stuff that will probably not mean any jail time for anyone…and Vance has already said earlier this week that trump is not going to be charged but that the investigation is “ongoing”… but they’ve had trump’s taxes for 4 months now an that is the best they can find? I sure hope this is not just another time where trump and his cronies break the law and there is no consequences other than fines…what happened to the money laundering that was run through cyprus? Or the estate in Florida he made 60 million dollars on when he sold it to a Russian oligarch after owning it for two years? Or the election tampering he did in Georgia? If trump gets off from all of this, I’ll lose all faith I have in the justice system of this country…and that is not much….geez….
So, rich people can rent South Dakota’s national guard now?
Well…with all of the shrill yelping from the right about the “crisis” at our southern border, grandstanding asshole Greg Abbott of Texas is enlisting governors of other far right states to help him do something at the border…not sure what that is but he sure wants to do something and he is inviting the idiot trump to his state tomorrow to “tour” the border and to show the world the “crisis” that doesn’t exist. One of the governors he has “partnered” with, Kristi Noem of South Dakota, is even sending a contingent of their National Guard to the Texas border and she thought it would be cute to say that “private donations” are funding the deployment so people of the state wouldn’t be pissed…but that brings up an interesting question: So, can rich people now rent their national guard? I wonder who would be giving the orders for what the mission is? So now South Dakota is just like Somalia where militias sell their services to the highest bidder? I wonder what else they could rent them for? To put down a union organizing drive? To keep “those people” out of the rich people’s neighborhood? To annex land from another state to make a rich person’s ranch bigger? Noem is just another trumpist idiot who doesn’t understand how government works and will break the law if it doesn’t suit her….and, I’m sure the US military is not going to sit still for her selling the services of their soldiers to the highest bidder or for political reasons….if any of these soldiers deploy, I wonder who is going to face a court martial for ordering it? I just can’t believe the people of South Dakota are so stupid that they would let their friends and neighbors in the Guard be used like this…but it is a blood red state so I guess it’s possible…geez…
