Well…this gets more laughable as time goes on…the repubs are filing suits against state voting laws and continue to keep getting slapped down even by trump appointed judges…I think they are looking back to 2000 when Florida ignored their laws and counted a bunch of mail in ballots that were postmarked after the deadline and gave the election to bush after the SC stepped in and stopped the ballot counting. I think that is what they are shooting for here again…to try to find a judge somewhere who will rule for them so they can eventually get it to the SC where their illegitimate justices will give them what they want…and to help with that gaslighting, trump is going to go on the tv tonight and declare himself the winner no matter what the count says…and the television media is going to go along and carry it live…and this after trump telegraphed that he was going to do it and many outlets carried that story yesterday. Yeah, not gonna work…there are too many people involved in counting the ballots who have integrity and are going to report accurate counts and no amount of bleating by the loser in chief is going to change that…it may take until later in the week and we have better lawyers than they do so I say bring it on, loser…wreck what’s left of the repub party so we’ll grind that into dust in the next election….geez…

Countdown…election day…
Well…the day that we’ve all been looking forward to and dreading is here and my stress level is still at 11 and that is part of the reason I’m late here today…needed to take advantage of the weather and get 26 miles in on the bike and I am beat…but I’m here so let’s get started…okay, right up front, I hope all of you have voted or plan to today…we need all hands on deck to make sure the orange tumor that has infested our country for the past four years is gone in January…and while I am cautiously optimistic….okay, I hate that phrase, have read it over a hundred times today, it does nothing to describe the tension we all are feeling…one good bit of news is that the idiot boy’s ground game in PA really doesn’t exist…it appears that Brad Parscale, who was supposed to do it before getting fired, just took the money and ran….and many polling place in red areas are dead with no lines to speak of….oh, we can only hope since we are almost 700K ahead in mail in ballots and that may carry us to a win there….turnout is ridiculous across the country and may reach 70+ percent which is almost 10% higher than in 2016…whether that favors us I’m not sure and I think the analysis will have to wait until after the election…one thing that is happening is the turnout of younger folks is up 20% from 2016 and they appear to be pretty darn motivated…so, let’s keep them motivated by giving them a seat at the table to understand what they want the country to look like and what it is government can do to make their lives better….we should know by 9 pm or so who won Florida and Georgia…if Joe takes either one it’s over for idiot boy, if he takes both, it’s going to be a landslide and maybe almost 400 EV’s…I do know that after I finish this, I’m tuning out to watch soccer and then catch up on some shows tonight instead of watching the news…I may check on the results before I go to bed since that would be as good as a sleeping pill to me…and I am going to have martinis tonight….fingers crossed….

Well….sitting here with more time on my hands since the wind is blowing a steady 20-25 and gusting to 40, and with it being cold, I am not going to go out on the bike today…it is just too brutal when you’re going as hard as you can and then a gust hits and stops you in your tracks….so, I had a thought I wanted to talk about…with all of the lawbreaking that has gone on in every part of the government under idiot boy, and the stonewalling that has kept records of this criminality secret since there are no tools that can get the government to cough up these records to house investigators if they don’t want to, I wonder what these idiots think is going to happen when Joe wins? All of the records that will prove these morons broke the law will be readily provided to every house committee that wants them…so I think we need to watch for the big shredder trucks rolling up to the WH and the Justice department on Wednesday….and then prosecute everyone who has destroyed these records when we take over in January. If I were a member of ICE or the border patrol, I’d be especially scared of investigation since it has already been documented that they have brutalized immigrants for the past four years and have gotten away with it for now since trump’s justice department has looked the other way for all that time….cripes we are in for a clean up job in January….
Countdown…one day til the election…
Well…okay, I’ll admit my stress o meter is pegged at 11 and thankfully I had some painting to do that took up some of my free time this morning…but not really enough so I thought I’d do this one to use up a little more…the final polls are in and they show no movement toward the idiot trump with the national polls showing an almost 10 point Joe lead and 538 moving their projection to a 90% chance that he will win…but, let’s remember one thing…they had Hillary at 88% at this same point and the idiot boy won…one point that I am hoping will hold up is that at no point during the 2016 election did Hillary have the support of 50% of the electorate and she still won the popular vote by 3 million…in the final poll, we see that Joe is at 52% which means there are very few undecided voters and these voters broke for trump last time and put him over by the 77K votes he won the EC by….I think the eye of the needle is much smaller this time and, let’s mix metaphors here, and can lightning strike twice for the idiot boy? One interesting poll from this morning is that Joe and idiot boy are tied in Texas at 48.1% and that is surprising in blood red Texas but I think it reflects the demographic changes that are happening there and, even if Joe doesn’t win, the writing is on the wall for the repubs that change is coming…and not a minute too soon. The Georgia senate races have tightened a bit and are basically a tossup today but we’ll see what turnout says there…we need to remember that Stacey Abrams only lost the last governor’s race by less than 1% even with the widespread voter suppression that may be able to be countered by turnout…I hope so anyway. I still think we’ll get the 4 seats we need to make Moscow Mitch the minority leader but that one is going to be a nail biter. So, please people, get to to vote like this country depends on it…and it’s not hyperbole to say it does…I need some calm in my life and trump has to go to make that happen….VOTE!
Countdown…2 days til the election..
Well…damn, it’s only 10:30 and I’ve accomplished everything I wanted to already…so, I thought I’d come here for the next to last one of these…or the penultimate one…can’t remember ever using that word before….so, let’s go…new polling is out today that shows very little movement in any of the states other than one that shows trump up by 12 in Iowa when every other one has it tied or with Biden ahead by one…I’ll take that one as an outlier since the sample size is only 200 and that makes it easy to not be representative…Biden looks good in the states that idiot boy needs to win, Pa, Wi, and MI with near double digit leads in those states where Hillary was even to up only around 2%….so that looks good for Joe and us…and many of the pollsters have started to convert these percentages into EV’s that all look pretty good for Joe…not one of them have trump winning with Joe having a floor of 280 EV’s without any states that are really swing ones anymore…it appears they are being conservative and I like that…they have also put the swing states in and with a Biden win in those states, it could be a landslide with up to 400 EV’s…but I am just hoping for any kind of a win even if it’s 270 and I am still nervous about the voter suppression that the repubs are doing openly now when they used to do it in the shadows…in Georgia, there was march of mostly AA people going to the polls who were attacked by police using pepper spray when they did nothing but walk….I think there will probably be more of that in the next two days but I don’t get the mindset of these morons…I mean, if we win all three branches of government, many of them will be held accountable and will be out of jobs…but past that, how much of an asshole do you have to be to pepper spray someone just wanting to vote? Okay, I’ll stop editorializing now…just get out to vote if you haven’t already…we need all of you…and we need you right now…
Countdown…3 days til the election..
Well…yeah, I’m sure you noticed that I skipped day 4 until the election…I decided to stop counting election day itself so that makes it three days…and I’m writing it so I can change if I want…if you’ve been here on the weekends, you’ll know that I usually slack off some with the political ones on the weekends but with the election so close, I thought I’d try some discipline and make sure I do one…so, here goes…after the past four years of stress every damn day with waking up to some new outrage that the orange asshole has foisted on the US and the world, it has gotten considerably worse over the past month or so and I think my stress o meter is pegged at 11…it sure feels like my body is reacting to the news with ever greater nervousness as I see the repubs abandon democracy to try to cheat in the election with their willing enablers on the SC and other courts across the country….I remember when when there was a repub party that was somewhat honest and listened to the will of the people….or at least they didn’t cheat so openly or so widely…but now it appears to be all cheat, all the time across the entire country since they know that 70% of the country don’t want the policies they are selling…and that includes repubs who think that every vote should be counted no matter how long it takes…I mean how does counting mail in ballots a few days after the election proper in accordance with state law make them invalid? But that is the attack that they are going to make…and since some states, like Michigan, can’t start to count the votes until election day (another repub law that is designed to allow some votes to not be counted) we may not have the entire count done until a few days after the election with the huge increase in mail voting due to the pandemic. It is so disheartening to have one of our major political parties abandon democracy to try to protect their power and abandon the principle of “one person, one vote” that has been the bedrock of our country…okay, yeah…that sounds naive and I know that the history of the country is spotty at best giving everyone qualified the vote…but, isn’t it an ideal to aspire to? This is going to be a tough three days….
Every dem should be asking this question…
Well…I think I’ve decided to take the day of riding today with the cold and wind so to keep the guilts at bay, I decided I’d do another one of these since this just popped into my head…why aren’t the dems asking the age old presidential campaign question: “Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?” We all know the answer to that one…NO! I’m sure the 250,000 dead from the virus would agreee…I’m sure the 8 million plus who have contracted the virus would agree…and I’m sure the 30 million people out of work (including the 1.1 million out of work in just the past week) would agree…along with the hundreds of thousands of business owners who have gone bankrupt or closed…and every damn dem should be asking that at every campaign stop, every press conference, and every debate. And the bullshit shouting by the idiot trump about the strongest growth ever in the economy needs to be met with…that may be true but we are still well below the economic activity that was given to him by Obama….and all idiot boy did was screw it up….so dems, if you are listening, ask the damn question and the watch the faces of the repub idiots as they try to lie their way out of answering…
Countdown…5 days til the election…
Well…there is quite a lull in polling right now so there is no movement to talk about but there is one thing that I do want to talk about and that is turnout. News reports from across the country are reporting record after record turnout…in Texas, they have already passed the entire turnout of the 2016 election with one day of early voting to go and election day to add…and this is being repeated in Georgia, NC, and other states including here in Michigan. But, what does this mean? There are some good results for the good guys with a million people voting in Texas that have never voted before (much of them the under 30 crowd) but there is no way to tell which way they will break in total…I think the other side is almost as motivated as ours and that is seen in Florida where we are only up by 2% in early voting and that has come down from almost 25% up….one thing that I see as important is the young, democratic county clerks in some locales who are being very creative in getting around the repub restrictions on voting as in Texas where their repub governor limited ballot drop boxes to one per county, even in counties with 5 million people in it…so Chris Hollins the country clerk opened 100 early voting locations, kept some of them open 24 hours a day for shift workers, and even instituted drive in voting for people who were concerned about voting in person…and this has led to an explosion in people voting who just couldn’t swing it with the restrictions that the repubs had in place. So, should we be optimistic that this explosion is going to help our side? Cautiously, probably…that is how I’m looking at it with the hope in the back of my mind that there is a landslide in the making for our side…and that we can finally drive a stake through the heart of the repub party…after all, and I’ve said this before…we outnumber them…and if we vote, we win….keep it up folks…vote!
Countdown…5 days to the election…
Well…a few good, high quality polls for Joe today that put him up by 6 in Florida and that means that he has an 89% chance of winning the EC according to 538, and a 95% chance of winning according to the Economist…if trump loses Florida the game is over and we should know that late on the third or the early hours of the 4th…and crucially, Joe is over 50% and that leaves only the undecideds that trump could get and he would need to get all of them to even get close…okay, I know we on the side of good have a habit of seeing the worst and remembering 2016 when Hillary was ahead (but by about 2/3rds less than Biden is now) and got almost 3 million more votes but still lost…so we need to keep working up to the night of the 3rd and then be ready to take to the streets if idiot boy and his minions try to steal the election…but, let’s also take a breath and think about all the work that has been done so far…have a drink, and get ready for the pull all the way to Tuesday…we are saving this country and that is damn hard work. Think of how good it is going to feel when we kick trump and his cronies to the curb…I have the cocktails ready…
The dog ate my homework…
Well….with the “wet laptop” smear of Joe Biden that was found out to be Russian disinformation that was given to the idiot Rudy Guiliani to push falling flat because it was just so ridiculous…we now have the moron Tucker Carlson going on his show last night to say that he had a “huge” packet of information that would destroy Joe and “prove” that he was a crook…but, here’s the catch…he then said that the packet had “disappeared” during transit from one of the “major” carriers that deliver packages…yeah right, just like the dog ate my homework dodge that every kid has used when he didn’t do his homework…look, Tucker, I have one question to ask: “what’s the tracking number from the package?” Every one of the “major” carriers routinely e-mails a tracking number when a package is on the way…even the USPS has started to do that so you can tell when the package will arrive and where it is in transit…and my second question goes to his assertion that there is no electronic copy of the information anywhere…yeah, Tucker we are not in the 80″s anymore…everything has an electronic record…where is it? I f this “information” is so important, there has to be an electronic copy of it somewhere…so, where is it? Look, we all know that tucker is a liar…he even got a court case thrown out by a judge BECAUSE he is a liar and the judge said you couldn’t trust anything he says…so, another try at smearing Joe crashes and burns…I wonder when these morons are going to realize that you can’t smear an honest man? They are so used to dealing with people on their side who are liars and cheats so they think everyone does it…but not Joe…tick tock….your time is coming to and end…
