Well…I’m by now you’ve heard about the church shooting in SC that left 9 dead and the shooter on the run…at least they now have caught the 21 year old white guy that did the shooting and the only thing I have to say is that this is just sick…but expected, given the hate that spouts from the right across this country. When are we going to stop trying to have the south rise again..where in SC they fly the confederate flag over the state capitol? The theme that runs through the right hand bubble was quoted by this idiot as he was murdering these people “we are going to take back our country from you”…how many time have you heard this from the politicians on the right? And the nonsense of “second amendment remedies” gets mixed in an this is what you get…a racist punk who believes in and acts on this propaganda that is spewed from hate radio…I’m sure there are those on the right who will hold this scum up as a hero….all I can do is shake my head and worry for the future of this country….

Donald Trump is in!
Well…I can hardly contain my glee after hearing the announcement that the Donald has declared his candidacy for president…and his speech announcing it was just the riches bit of absurdist theater I can remember seeing in a long, long time…starting with his rant that illegal immigrants are “drug dealers, they bring in crime, and they are rapists” wow, way to go Donald…alienate some 40% of the voters out there that are Hispanic and then all of us that are on the left…hmmmm…what does that leave for you? Oh, the 26% that are tea partiers…not the brightest way to get elected by any means. But, really….does this delusional idiot think he has any chance in this election? Yeah…I’ll be he does since he still believes in a fake Obama birth certificate…that there is no global warming, or that he is a businessman of any sort….I guess it would be pretty easy to be rich when you start out with 400 million dollars of daddy’s money and then use bankruptcy as your business plan to screw all your creditors and the people that work for you…I guess it’s not much different than ole Mitt’s plan from Bain…the two of them should work well together…it is going to be a fun summer listening to this idiot…and the rest of the idiots that are running…go Bernie!
Let’s learn a little on “free trade”
Well….with all of the drama over the new trade agreement that was scuttled last week by the dems in the house…thank you Nancy Pelosi, I think it’s time to look back a little at the other big “free trade” agreement, NAFTA, that has been in effect for over 20 years now. There was an interesting study that I read a little about a few days back and one of the big takeaways from the study was it’s effect on wages in the US…where it has been responsible for essentially a stagnation of wages here…with the huge pool of cheap labor that suddenly entered the market from Mexico, wages have been under downward pressure…after all, why would the auto companies want to pay an American worker 20 dollars an hour when the can pay Mexican workers 2 dollars? The study also predicted the demise of the Canadian auto industry in about 20 years which, before NAFTA, was an important sector of their economy. And, again, why invest in Canada when there is cheap labor south of the American border? What these trade deals show is that it is impossible to maintain an American middle class and it’s wages when you compete with countries that pay third world wages…we need to shout that every time there is another one of these deals that continue to take all the good jobs away from the US…let’s stop this race to the bottom before it’s too late….
Noodling…again…
Well….have been sitting here today thinking about what to write and I’ve already done most of the things I wanted to so I guess it’s noodling time again….I was a little heartened by Hillary’s speech the other day when she has started to sound like Elizibeth Warren and that move to the left is what I have been waiting for from the dems for a long time…if dems are dems and we get out the vote we win….and there was no one even talking to all of us on the left until now…but, I still like Bernie Sanders more since he is the real item…he just has to keep saying what he has been saying his whole career…I think you can call him authentic…I am really surprised as he is) by the size of the crowds that have been coming out to see him…I think that’s pretty cool…okay…so I didn’t noodle much…I finally got a second one done this weekend…
Rick Snyder is a liar…
Well…during all the hoopla over the “religious freedom” law that was passed in Indiana, our governor, ole Rick Snyder said he would never sign a bill like that…well today showed that he is a liar of the worst sort…he did exactly what he said he wouldn’t…he signed three bills into law that gives adoption agencies in Michigan a brand new right (that the right is always bitching about), the right to not allow same sex couples to adopt due to their “honestly held” religious beliefs. I have had enough of this crap…my tax dollars go to support each and every one of these adoption agencies and I do not want to support people that have now been given the right to discriminate against anyone they don’t like…but these laws go even father than the ones in Indiana…they allow these supposed “religious groups” to not allow divorced people to adopt…to not allow single people to adopt…too not allow inter racial couples to adopt…you get my drift…with almost 4,000 kids waiting for a new home here in Michigan, you would think that any loving single or couple that wants to adopt would be welcome here in Michigan…but, again the repubs and our liar of a governor don’t give a damn about the kids…just pandering to the religious here that want to impose their warped view of religion on the rest of us….shame on you Snyder…I have lost all respect for the “tough nerd” that said he was above this crap…
Sam Brownback v. the Constitution
Well…with so much crap coming out of Kansas and it’s failed tea party experiment of cut taxes at all costs…the governor there has sunk to a new low…after some rulings against him saying that the state government had a constitutional responsibility to fund the schools there, Ole Sam did just what the bullies in the repub party do…he got the repub legislature to pass a law saying that if they ruled against him again, that the entire judiciary there will be defunded…just the kind of extortion that the repubs are good at…well.. the only thing they are good at is threatening people that won’t do what they want…never mind that the judicial branch is supposed to be the check on the legislative and executive branch…where is that pocket Constitution that all of you tea partiers carry around, Sam? This stuff is obviously uncostitutional but that doesn’t mean anything to the repubs…they only read the Constitution when they can use it as a club to get their own way…man…we need to get out to vote to get rid of these asses…geez…
Who elected Grover Norquist?
Well…read an article this morning that just distilled what is wrong with the repub party these days…with the tax cut fever that has spread through repub controlled states like Wisconsin, Kansas, Louisiana, and our own state of Michigan that has busted all of the budgets…some of the conservatives in Louisiana have figured out that gee, maybe cutting all those taxes was not such a good idea since they are now looking at a 1.6 billion dollar deficit. Some of them have even uttered the unthinkable, that they may have to raise taxes to fix the shortfall. But, here comes the sickening part…instead of doing their jobs and taking care of the people of Louisiana, they first had to make the pilgrimage to the shrine of tax cutting, Grover Norquists office…and you know the result. Under no circumstances will he allow them to raise taxes…but, my question is “who elected Grover Norquist?” No resident of Louisiana voted for him so why do they have to suffer the destruction of their state to please him? It’s about time for the US to throw this idiot and his nonsense to the curb…this crap has never worked to do anything but to make the rich richer and allow them to freeload on our tax dollars….I hope this makes you as sick as it makes me….no one person has done more damage to the country than ole Grover…geez…

Well….have had a weird day so far with lots of problems on the bike but that’s not what this is about…read a little article this morning that ole GW got $100,000 to do a speech at a fundraiser for a homeless shelter in Texas…I question why anyone would pay to listen to this idiot who has been wrong on everything he ever did, bailed out by his daddies buddies when he went bankrupt, and is a war criminal, but I also question his understanding of a fundraiser for homeless people and the good that that $100,000 speaking fee would do for the homeless….that said the comments to the article were predictable….the Clintons go all over the world and make more money than that…and it is a good thing that GW stays in the states to do his speeches…yeah, ole GW stays in the states to do his “good work” for the American people…he stays in the states since if he travels almost anywhere, he will be arrested and sent to the Hague for a war crimes trial…and that is the only reason he doesn’t travel…not for any love of country…what a bunch of maroons…geez…
Ted Cruz is the worst person in the world…
Well…I apologize up front to Keith Olbermann for stealing his schtick but there is no better description for Ted Cruz for what he did this week….at some speaking engagement, ole Ted was trying to be his smarmy best to the ugly crowd and decided he needed to make jokes about Joe Biden…the same Joe Biden who is burying his son right now…the same one who has seen tragedy throughout his life, losing his wife and young daughter in a car accident many years ago…but that doesn’t matter to ole Ted, the only thing that matters to him is to get a laugh at anyone’s expense….but this, this is just the distilled essence of the modern republican….the cruel psychopath that doesn’t care about anything but his ideology, who doesn’t care that…okay…who just doesn’t care about anything except himself….how can he live with himself? Quite easily, it appears…the essence of a psychopath according to the APA….geez…
The cost of brutality…
Well…just read an interesting little article in the Free Press about the individualized costs of just one police brutality case in the city of Inkster…if you recall, an idiot cop dragged a guy out of his car under false pretenses and beat him mercilessly…in this one case the cop was fired and is now under trial for multiple felonies in relationship to that beating…never mind the many, many others he was responsible for. This article put a new spin on the 1.38 million dollar settlement to the beaten man…they broke it out as a per household amount that is going to have to be paid through a millage increase that will tax everyone in Inkster…and that comes out to $178.30 property tax increase for a house that is only worth $55,000…yep for each homeowner they are going to have to kick in almost 200 bucks to pay for this one case of police brutality…I wonder if this will help end this nonsense? If I lived in Inkster, I’d sure be yelling for changes so this wouldn’t ever happen again…and, I would press the city to file a recovery lawsuit to get the money back from the fired officer….geez…
