Well…I am dumbfounded by the new ad being run by Terri Land attacking Gary Peters here in Michigan in the senate race for Levin’s seat…basically, the entire ad is this: I am a woman so I know about women’s issues and since Gary Peters is a man, he doesn’t. Yep, that is the entire ad…but to me, the real issue here is not that Terri is a woman and understands women’s issues…which is just not true by the way…the real issue is that, in her time in congress, she just doesn’t give a damn about those issues…she voted to repeal Obamacare 50 plus times, and has made it clear that any attempt to even out the wage disparity between men and women has been rejected by her and her cronies in the repub party…along with her support of the restriction of women’s rights that is at the forefront of the modern repub party.,..exactly what issues does she care about? What issues does she think are important…you can never find that out since she never takes questions from the press…sending out aides to answer…is it because she just isn’t bright enough to talk without talking points? Just like the rest of the repubs…stonewall or lie until you are elected and then do exactly what the rest of the repub party does…make laws for their rich donors and then grift to get a piece of it….geez…

The problem with Koch money…
Well…int he wake of Citizens United and the McCutcheon decision, the supreme court has torn away the last vestiges of control of the government for and by the people and replaced it with one for and by the Kochs…let me explain…when the Kochs started out, limited by campaign finance laws, they concentrated on national issues since they were limited in how much they could spend…but now, since the supreme court has taken any limits away, these asses are now taking away the right to self determination across the country by getting into races as local as school boards. And, this is done with the single mindedness of hatred for unions, democrats, and the middle class that is just breathtaking…with them going so far as to spend millions in Tennessee to defeat a mass transit proposal that would have allowed people to leave their cars at home…something the oil rich Kochs could not stomach. This same interference and hatred for unions is seen in their assault on local school boards where they are buying seats for their tea party cronies on the boards and then instructing them to fight the unions, ensuring that teachers fall out of the middle class….so, when someone says the Kochs are not the problem, they are lying, lying, lying….geez…
Still no outrage…
Well…even after yesterday’s post on the takers in the repub party, I still can’t work up a lot of the outrage that normally fuels this thing…it’s not that I haven’t tried….but I think I’m in outrage overload and just a little numb from the whole direction of the country….where the ACA is doing good across the country and the repubs are still trying to take insurance away form those who have benefited from the law…and the bad thing is that these same people will vote for them since…freedom or something…not sure why the poor folks who vote for the repubs keep doing it…it’s not like they give a damn about them…they don’t…and have shown that for decades now…and no amount of regulation or tax cutting is going to get them into or keep them in the middle class…it only works to make the rich richer and make the rest of pay for their pollution and stealing of the natural resources that belong to every citizen….I guess that is communism or something…will never figure it out….geez…
The lawlessness of the right…
Well…I’m not sure if you heard about the little showdown between a rancher out west who has been illegally grazing his cattle on federal lands for over twenty years in defiance of many court orders for him to stop…with the latest chapter being his use of armed right wing militia groups to stop the confiscation of his illegally grazing cattle since he doesn’t recognize that the federal government’s laws have any validity in his state. Yep, you heard it, just another instance where the “law and order” repubs pick and choose what laws they are going to follow…but, my big bitch is with the feds and their enforcement people for letting this tin horn idiot get away with it…when the militia folks arrived at the scene, they feds backed off since they didn’t want any bloodshed…armed men in defiance of the lawful actions of the government is against the law…so now felonies are allowed to pass since there may be bloodshed? What’s next, armed robbers being left alone to rob since there may be bloodshed? The more time that these so called patriots are allowed to get away with ignoring the law…and, in effect stealing grazing land from the federal government, the more emboldened they become…this crap needs to be stomped on right now and these folks need to go to jail…now…geez…
Taxes, taxes…
Well…after tangling with the IRS again for a measly 500 bucks or so…it just pissed me off when I was reminded about GE and how they have been able to manage their tax liability…and, by manage I mean avoid paying any taxes at all. Over the past three years, on 28 billion dollars in income, GE has paid no taxes…in fact, they have used the code written for them to get over 3 billion dollars in refunds…yep, folks…you and I are paying GE 3 billion dollars out of our taxes to bribe them to stay in the US…not that being here is the reason the company exists…that US markets have gotten it to where it is today…no, it is from their wonderful business savvy…if you can’t recognize it, that last part was all snark…the infrastructure, the education, and the market they depend on is all paid for by us and they use if for free since they don’t pay taxes…talk about free riders and takers….how many people would it take to take the 3 billion dollars they take every year? Parasites all……geez…
The deficit drops…
Well…I have been just shaking my head at the hypocrisy of the right for the past few years concerning the federal deficit but one new little tidbit of information that came out this morning highlights how the concern from Ryan, Cantor and their cronies is just so fake and partisan…this morning, the CBO reported that the deficit is going to be under 500 billion dollars for the year…the lowest since 2000, the year that ole GW took office…that means that every year that that idiot was in office, the supposedly terrible deficit was ignored by the repubs and when the dems were in control, they never held the government hostage to try to cut it. So, when you hear anyone on the right bitch about how out of control “Obama’s” spending is, you just have to tell them this little truth…they won’t believe it but you should tell them anyway…maybe their heads will explode and that will be fun to watch….geez…
Another day….
Well…have been thinking about what to write today with very little luck so I think I’ll just noodle a little and see what happens…one of the things that the repubs hating the ACA and trying to obstruct it at every turn has done is to put single payer back on the table in some states and keeping the issue alive across the country…and, why not?
The rest of the industrial world does single payer and their costs are just a fraction of what we spend on healthcare here…I’ll bet the insurance execs across the country are starting to get a little pissed at the repubs since they are keeping the issue alive when they would prefer to try to lock in their obscene profits and keep single payer from getting any traction…wouldn’t it be better to take the complexity out of healthcare by giving everyone the same coverage…where everything is covered, no co pays, no crap from the insurance companies, and you only sign up once in your lifetime…that would be nirvana to me…geez…
The family values crowd…
Well…I have been laughing…or would have been laughing at another member of the “family values” crowd if it wasn’t just so absurd…if you haven’t heard, another Louisiana congressman got caught making out with a staff member after he was elected extolling his virtues as the family values candidate. But, here’s the real curve, now that he was caught, this idiot didn’t follow the David Vitter model…and that is lie to everyone, act contrite, and call for forgiveness from god…nope, this guy is willing to spend millions of government dollars “investigating” who released the tape of him making out and then try to proffer criminal charges…yep, he is going to try to prosecute the person who revealed his wrongdoings….not resign as he should but play the well worn right wing victim card where none of their behavior is their fault…but the fault lies with the media who revealed it…I can not believe the chutzpah of these idiots….geez…
Hypocrites….
Well…I have been following the sickening comments coming out of the repub controlled house that they won’t restore long term unemployment benefits because they “make people not want to work” and other specious comments….but, the thing that makes it even worse is the smug self righteous belief that they work so hard while the people looking for work are just slackers. Well…I’ve got news for you, idiots…taking a month off then coming back to work for four days, then taking another 18 days off does not make for doing the full time job that you are getting paid big bucks for. I have just one thing to say to you idiots…shut the hell up…geez…
Shining some light…
Well..this is just going to be a short one since I did 15 miles on the bike today and I am worn out…but, I did want to touch on what is happening on the left to expose the Kochs and their nefarious plans for the country that includes polluting everywhere and having the American people pick up the cleanup tab, busting unions, and even interfering in local mass transit decisions since only the less fortunate use mass transit…or so they think. We have to continue the work that Harry Reid has been doing on the senate floor where he has shone a light on these plans by enumerating the bad effects their money has had on the country…and I think it’s starting to work since Charles Koch wrote a whining, “poor me” op-ed in the WSJ this past week that has been roundly ridiculed even from some of those on the right…now, we need to make these idiots the focus of the next election and use that to get our side to turn out…because, as Kos says: “if we vote, we win”….
