Well…have to cheat some since I have been a little slow on the uptake lately…so,…no, I don’t think I’ll cheat…just want to comment on the idiot Chuck Todd’s statement the other day that went something like this: “it’s not my job to point out Republican lies…” I’m sorry, Chuckster, but it is EXACTLY the job of the media to point out republican lies and talking points. This is what is wrong with the media these days…they act like truth and facts don’t matter any more…and they give this false equivalence to what is true and the lies that come out of the repubs every day….what the hell is wrong with the media? When did they stop doing their jobs as they did during Watergate? If the media acted then like they do now, Nixon never would have had to resign since they would have bought his lies and actively supported him. Chuck Todd should lose his job over this since he has shown that he is not a journalist…just a stenographer for the repubs…geez….

The backlash is coming….
Well..if you’ve been here at all, you know how I feel about the idiots who are so scared of life that they need to carry guns around with them wherever they go….and, you have also heard me talk about how uncomfortable I am when one of these idiots walks into the coffee shop, etc. where I am….and you have heard the arguments for second amendment rights..yada, yada….what about the rights of those of us that don’t want to be around guns? Then the argument from the gun nuts goes that those who carry guns have to be trained, licensed, etc. and you’ll be happy to have one of them around when you’re getting robbed. Then my argument goes that they are responsible gun owners until they’re not…until they snap from whatever and start shooting. Well…that happened just yesterday when two “responsible” gun owners had a shootout after a road rage incident and both of them ended up dead. Both had licenses to carry their handguns but both of them snapped…what would have happened if only one of them had a gun? Another person would have been killed by a “responsible” gun owner…and it wouldn’t make him or her any less dead. What if there would have other people in the car wash where they chose to have their gun battle? Do we just chalk them up to be collateral damage and just shrug our shoulders and say “oh, well”? I have had enough of having to change my behavior just so these idiots can look like a big man with his piece strapped to his waist…it is time to stop this crap and restore some sanity to our lives…geez…
Republican extortionists…
Well…the repubs have finally devolved into the Mafia with their latest threats to crash the world economy unless they get all of the crazy they have been trying for for the past 4+ years. The latest nonsense is that they have threatened to hold the debt ceiling hostage unless the Keystone pipeline is approved along with the wish list of the far right…of course the repeal of the ACA, but then more tax cuts for the rich, more food stamp cuts for the poor, and more voter suppression, slashing SS and Medicare…you get the point…they can’t win elections so they thumb their noses at democracy and do what thugs do, threaten the country and the world…are these guys nuts? At least we have the president saying that one of his biggest mistakes was negotiating with extortionists in 2011 and has promised never again. I say let them crash the economy…and then let’s tie this millstone around the necks of every one of them and push them out of the congress so maybe some sane people can take their places…ignorant know-nothings have no place running this country…we are the laughingstock of the world whenever they open their mouths and I have had enough of the crazy…geez…
I’m confused…
Well…here comes the new meme of the day from the right wing wingnuts…that because Obama got Syria to give up it’s chemical weapons without firing a shot, it makes him look weak and because he is weak (in their minds), he now will go along with defunding Obamacare. What the hell planet are these nuts living on? In any rational mind (which means none on the right), getting what you want through talking and diplomacy is much preferable to using military force and killing a bunch of innocent civilians…but the right thinks that there is only one response to any crisis…bomb them! But, the funny thing here that exposes the pure, unadulterated hatred the right has for Obama is that they were for bombing Syria until Obama came out for it…then, they immediately changed to be opposed to it….I, for one, feel that diplomacy was and is the right choice in this situation, that there is nuance and subtlety that can work wonders if you have an administration that understands it. That does not describe ole Gw’s time in office…they had an outcome they wanted and then faked the info until they had a reason to attack….something that still should subject those folks to the law….I can’t wait to see how this one plays out…geez…
The three stooges are back…
Well…just a short one while I thaw out from the bike ride…I hope you saw the debacle of a press conference that was given by the three stooges the other day…no, not the real stooges but the stooges from the repub party, Michelle Bachmann, Steve King, and Louie Gohmert. For some reason, they took a trip to Egypt and then put on the most stupid event I have ever seen in their press conference…not a bit of intelligence between the three of them…I can not remember hearing three less intelligent people go out and embarrass this country like they did…and then ole Michelle even tops it by going on and on about how long the US has been here and culture, values, etc…lecturing people whose culture has been around for 5,000 years….there has to be a way to keep the stupid here in the US so we don’t lose the last vestige of respect we have in the world…geez…
The idiots waste another million…
Well…it was another red letter day in Washington yesterday with the idiot repubs holding another vote on the repeal of Obamacare…that is number 40 and I just can’t believe that they are getting away with it…especially since none of the laws will ever be taken up by the senate and would surely be vetoed by the president….so, what the hell are they voting for? There has been research done on the costs of these futile votes…from the staff time to write the bills and all of the other costs, and it has now passed the 50 million dollar price tag. Yep, these idiots who supposedly decry waste in government, and who voted the other day to cut food stamps to thousands of people and let them starve to save money have wasted 50 million dollars just trying to poke Obama in the eye. Think about all of the things that 50 million dollars would buy…how many kids could have gone to college? How many retirees could have been fed? How many homeless could have been given a home? These stupid, heartless bastards just don’t care about anyone but themselves and their billionaire bosses….geez…
Just a short one on some news…
Well…just wanted to relate something that I read today about some economic analysis that has recently been completed…the numbers are in people, and we now have the largest income inequality in the history of the country…yep, even worse than the depression, even worse than the gilded age of the robber barons whose trusts stole everything while their workers died and people starved…oh, sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Sounds just like now….with the repubs trying to steal everything that is not nailed down for their owners like the Kochs…and then cutting food stamps by forty billion dollars so people really will starve…they will literally starve citizens of this country just so the rich can have another summer home or Ferrari….this is just so sick I can’t even believe there are people like this in the world…we can do something about this, we just need the will…and the repubs to die off…geez…
I was right….
Well…if you look back a few days, you will see my take on what should be done on Syria…basically to use diplomacy to twist some arms and throw around a few rewards to get this problem solved without using the military…and, guess what? That’s just what Obama and Kerry have been doing getting Russia to put some pressure on Syria to give up their chemical weapons to international supervision without a shot being fired…but I do think the idea of the war talk and Obama twisting some arms in congress to get the authorization really did put Assad on notice that the game was up and that there was going to be change…maybe this is the eleventy dimension chess that some on the left think Obama is capable of…I’m not sure if that is what happened here, but it appears we are farther from attacking than we were a week ago and that is progress in my book….geez…
What’s wrong with diplomacy?
Well…have been thinking about cleaning my bathroom but this looked easier so I’ll give this a try…one of the questions that I have with this whole Syria nonsense is “what’s wrong with diplomacy?” When did our entire foreign policy devolve into using military force for everything? What is wrong with talking to the world about it and trying to find a diplomatic solution? We used to do a good bit of “horse trading” to get what we want with the use of the military being the last resort…I think it would be a good idea to try that for a while and not be in such a hurry to bomb everything in sight…it’s like the old saying ” when you are a hammer, everything you see is a nail”…..so, let’s talk for a while…Syria isn’t going anywhere….geez…
Let’s burst the bubble of saint Ronnie…
Well…I am gagging at the new repub talking point that goes something like this: Saint Ronnie would have responded more quickly to any chemical weapon attack than Obama and would not have allowed anyone to use them when he was in office….and this comes from “top republicans” in congress….what a crock of crap. Do these people not even think of history when they open their mouths? Let’s burst this bubble right now with just a small dose of history that these idiots conveniently ignore…first, during saint Ronnie’s term…the administration knew that Iraq was using chemical weapons in it’s war with Iran and even used satellite photos to tell Iraq where the Iranian troops were…hundreds of thousands killed…second, saint Ronnie stood by when Saddam turned his chemical weapons on the Kurds in Iraq that were revolting against his regime…another 100,000 dead or maimed…saint Ronnie knew and did nothing. So, to say that saint Ronnie is the template for action on the use of chemical weapons is to laugh, and laugh, and laugh….what happened on his watch is so much worse than what is happening now in Syria that the repubs need to just shut up about it…not that they will…truth doesn’t mean anything to them when they think they are scoring political points…geez…
