Well….being of the paranoid sort at times, and having read that some hackers and companies can watch you through the cameras on your devices, I am concerned enough to have taped over the one on my computer…not sure why anyone would want to look at an old guy writing on his computer but, better safe than sorry, right? Today, though, I had it confirmed to me that Netflix is not watching me watch them…during Jerry Seinfeld’s Netflix show, periodically Netflix has been asking me if I want to keep watching if I do more than two of the shows in a row….the shows are really short at around 15 minutes each so it is quite normal, to me, to watch more than one…have never had them ask me if I wanted to continue watching on any other show…or maybe it’s a new part of their software? Who knows? It’s still a little creepy….holy crap…it just hit me that I’m watching on my tv that doesn’t have a camera…I wonder if they DO watch if I use my computer…better leave the tape on….

A little music…
Well…was going to do one on the conspiracy that it was just revealed that Sessions is part of…you know, that little thing called obstruction of justice? But, I think I’ll talk about something else first…as you know, I have been trying to broaden my topics some to keep my sanity (what there is left of it) intact, so I’ll just go off on a new direction. I wonder how many of you have gotten sucked into youtube? Had the Who’s “Eminence Front” running through my head all morning so I decided to go out and watch it…not just one but almost a dozen copies came up so I watched a few of those and then “Love Reign O’er Me” popped up so I had to watch a few of those. That led into some Steely Dan that kept me busy for almost another hour until I looked up and it was lunch time….then back to the tube for some Allman Brothers and found a copy of “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and then I had to just stop or I’d still be watching them now at almost two. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours….and now I wait for Man U to play at 3…more later….
There are still good people…
Well…just a shorty on a video I just saw on twitter….a woman drove by a homeless man standing in the snow next to a street with no coat and then did a marvelous thing…she turned around, went to a store and bought the man a coat…..what a wonderful thing…it tells me there are still good people in the country and I have to hang onto that until next year….thank you Christina Calvo of Waterbury Conn.
Indian movies….
Well…as I talked about before, I am quite a big fan of movies from India and spent the nights this weekend watching a couple that popped up on the server….Baahubali 1&2….now, there is a wonderful strangeness to most of them, with most of the ones I’ve seen having lots of music and dancing…and that is even in the gangster movies that they make. Baahubali was no different….a huge, sprawling epic set of movies that reminded me of American movies from the 30’s in the way they were almost naive and simplistic in how they treated right and wrong. The only problem I had with the movies were the subtitles and the work it takes to read them that distracted from the visuals somewhat…and they were gorgeously shot movies…but, at 2 1/2 hours each….it took quite a bit of work to get through them….worthwhile, though to see the world through a different culture’s viewpoint…..
Not much going on…
Well…sitting here trying to come up with a topic without much luck so far…so, I guess I’ll just talk for a while and see what happens…I did see the Space X launch today and it was pretty cool…they even had a long distance shot of the maneuver that the first stage makes when it starts the descent process…and then they had the onboard camera showing it landing and it was so clear you could see the smoke trail from the launch as it came down…pretty darn cool. Oh, the repubs tax giveaway is going to be released late today and these idiots want to vote on it Monday…giving interested parties only two days to go over the 500 pages and figure out just how bad it is….even more of a reason for us to get out to vote next year so we can undo this monstrosity….hmmm.. what else? Not much right now, I guess….trying to stay away from the news a little today so I don’t have much to say right now…more later….
The trumps really are idiots…
Well….still bored today since the space x launch has been postponed until Friday…but, I did want to comment on a little article that I just read about the idiot trumps….it seems that there was an election for mayor of New York in November that the idiots tried to vote in but they are all so damn dumb that not one of them who tried to fill out absentee ballots got it right….so, these supposed geniuses…the “best people” couldn’t follow the instructions that are written for a 6th grade level education…man, are these people stupid….
Still a little bored today…
Well…sitting here still a little bored today and wondering if it is too weird to be geeked up about the Space X launch that is going to happen in about an hour. This will be the first time the entire rocket and capsule will be used ones and the booster will be landed back on the cape…and it is going to be streamed live on their website that I already have up with a little countdown counter in the corner…okay, I’m more that a little bored but this will help with that….
No trump today….
Well…yeah, I know…some of you are getting pretty tired of me going on and on about the idiot trump so today, no trump. Okay, one little thing…the idiot boy was not chosen to be Time’s person of the year…he is such a loser he can’t even win that….and that makes me laugh….have been watching some new tv lately over on netflix…finished off “Godless” and started “Dark” yesterday and, while I liked “Godless”, after two episodes of “Dark”, I’m not sure what I think about it…there are times that the English dubbing is distracting…but the story is just weird enough to keep me interested…we’ll see after a few more episodes….there is a new show on syfy tonight called “Happy!” that looks just about weird enough to give a try….about an ex-cop hitman who has a blue, flying horse that he talks to…and it is supposed to be full of blood and gore…and it’s partially a comedy so it may be interesting to see…ordered that up on the server along with “Godless” today….since all of the DC shows on the CW ended this week….tv is going to be a little bare for the next month or so…will probably have to go back to some of the shows I have kept in reserve like “Stranger Things” or “Sense8” to fill the time….but I don’t really want to end “Sense8” since it has been cancelled and there won’t be any more of them….but, I guess they all have to end sometime….
Steely Dan
Well…no politics today with the excitement building for the SD concert tonight….even after seeing them 5 other times, I think I feel the same as I did the first time back in 2002….it will be different without Walter but life goes on….my only concern is that they haven’t been playing two of my favorites, FM and Pretzel Logic….but they have gone into the solo catalogs of both of them with a couple and that may be cool…it would be neat to hear Slinky Thing done live….whatever happens, it will be a nice, relaxing night…think I may take my earplugs just in case….
Not Steely Dan without Walter?
Well…just ran across a thread on facebook where people are commenting that since Walter died, it’s not Steely Dan anymore and they want their money back for the concert here in GR…now, these must be people who have never seen SD before…while I loved the way Walter played, there were many concerts this year where he was sick and wasn’t there and they had a fill in do his parts…to be honest, most of the time you really didn’t know he was there or not…and I’ve seen them 6 times….it was the same for me when John Entwhistle of the Who died a week before I was to see them here and it never occurred to me to want my money back…and Ox was more a part of the Who’s sound than Walter was to SD’s…and I’m a bass player fan that was looking so forward to seeing his unique style of playing. I wonder where this all comes from? Would you want your money back for Eagles tickets because Glen Frey died? Or not go to see them because he’s not there? All I know is I’m going to go see them and enjoy the night….I’m sure that Donald will be firing on all cylinders to make up for it…I know that it won’t be the same without Walter….but, we’ll still get to hear what Walter has left behind….and we can revel in the fact that he was here at all….
