Well…slept all the way in til 5:40 this morning…and yes, that is sarcasm…I really don’t sleep much anymore and it is tiring running on coffee all the time…but that is life so I guess I’ll live with it…I do have a couple of things to do this morning and that means I’ll have to drag myself out to run an errand to get more books from the library and hit DD to see if there is anything I need since their ad has not reset like it’s supposed to on Tuesdays…it rained here the entire day yesterday and it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow with another inch or so and I’m just glad it’s not snow…have to start thinking about putting the summer wheels back on the car but hey need to be cleaned first and I can’t open up the outside water spigot until it’s not going to freeze but that won’t happen for another week or so…it’s going to be in the 30’s for a high next week and that sucks…it’s April and we should be seeing spring but 50’s is not spring to me…not much to do today…just the errand and the normal stuff and putting another coat of paint on the repairs…more later…

Well…as I was siting here on my butt just reading, it hit me that it’s been a week since I did the cement repairs and that it should be cured enough to paint…so I went down and got the first coat of Zinsser’s peel stop paint on it and I’ll let that dry for a couple of days before put the second coat on it…only used about a third of the quart that I bought so I’ll easily get one more and maybe two more coats from it…I have a few more places that need to be repaired and painted so I’ll probably buy another quart soon and get started on that…I do want to paint the bike room and continue the grey with white trim as I’ve done up here…I guess we’ll see if it works or not…didn’t get much else done today other than the normal stuff and some reading…man, it’s been raining hard out here since I gut up at 5am this morning and we are supposed to get 2 inches of rain today and another inch a day Friday and Saturday…it’s pounding against the siding and we even had some thunder roll though and I can figure that out with it only 35 degrees out here…at least it’s not snow…more reading…

Well…up and moving a little after 5…again…but today is going to be an easy one with the rain keeping me off the outdoor bike so all I have to do is the weight work and one indoor ride and that means I’ll be done before 8:30 or so…didn’t eat much yesterday but 2 pieces of pizza but I’m having a bagel to get the day started today…but not for a while…need to drown myself in coffee first or I just won’t get started…going to have to get off my butt and get the lawnmower fixed so I can start on the yard work soon but I think I can put that off for a few days…and just live for a while…not sure what I’m going to cook today but it will probably be just heating up some leftover pizza…don’t really feel like making mashed potatoes to go with the ham so that will wait til tomorrow…not much to do today…just going to get the normal stuff done and then clean a bit…it’s raining and almost cold enough for it to be snow and that sucks on April 2nd…more later…

Well…I almost forgot about the Artemis II moon launch today where they are sending 4 astronauts for a loop around the back of the moon and then back here…the flight is supposed to last until the 9th and it will be so cool to see a rocket launch that has nothing to do with ole elon…didn’t get much done today but the exercise but no outdoor ride since it’s still just a bit above 40 here and I’m not going to be that cold anymore…supposed to start raining later tonight and rain all day tomorrow and tomorrow night with some storms thrown in…so it will be indoor rides for the next few days…I did get another BAH at Meijers this morning and I picked up a 10 pound bag of potatoes at aldis for only 2.79 so I’m good on them for a while…used my next to last frozen pizza today so that means it will be a one meal day for me…didn’t even have a bagel for lunch so I can make a snack later…okay, back to reading…

Well… up and out of bed by 5:27 this morning and that followed waking up at 3 or so…and that’s wearing me out. ..the weather is going to suck for spring and we’re not going to get to 60 until late April and that’s just not right…so I won’t be out on the bike in shorts again until May…ick…didn’t get a thing done yesterday but I need to get moving now since I’m doing the grocery run this morning and need to get the weight work done and a ride in downstairs before that…and then I need to plan on some cleaning…still have 2 books to read out of this set so it looks like I won’t be hitting the library til Friday or maybe I’ll wait til Monday to give me time to do other stuff…got the laundry done yesterday so maybe I’ll paint the patches downstairs today and see if the paint really works…not much to do today…just need to get off my butt and get moving right now and I’m tired of that every day…more later….

Well…the second storm of the day is rolling through here and the lights just blinked and I don’t like that one bit…at least it’s still over 50 and the furnace hasn’t been on all day for the first time this year…I did get out on the outdoor bike in shorts today but it really wasn’t pleasant when I forgot that the temp is 10 degrees colder out at the lake…so I cut the water stop short and got to the north side of the dunes where it was warmer…the detour route isn’t bad but going the wrong way through the tunnel of trees is a little weird…my legs held up a lot better with just a little stiffness but my right thumb has been howling all day so I’ll hit it with some voltaren soon…can’t pass up protein at 85 cents a pound so I’ll be getting another ham tomorrow since the pork shoulder is no longer on sale…darn…and that means I only have to make mashed potatoes again and I’ll be eating for another week…okay, want to finish the book I’ve got going…

Well…another month ends and I don’t know how I feel about it…it sure feels like time passing has a finite edge to it as I get older and there is an end that I can see coming…didn’t drag my butt out of bed til 6 or so this morning and I feel like I’m running behind as I always do…the weather forecast has changed from the 6 inches of snow that was supposed to come Thursday to an inch of rain instead and I’m okay with that…it would be warm enough to get out on the bike right now but it is going to be raining for a few hours so I guess I’ll do an indoor ride to start the day and maybe get outside after lunch…need to check on the cement patches I did downstairs to see if they are dry enough to paint…would like to get that done today…Meijers has pork shoulder on sale for 1.49 a pound and I am going to get one of those tomorrow if they have them…but they haven’t been following their ad prices lately and will either not have them or have a higher price and that sucks…I guess I can buy another ham at 85 cents a pound if they don’t….more later…

Well…finally, I got two rides in outdoors today for the first 25 mile day…I think I’ll be paying for it tomorrow but that’s okay…and it was the first day this year I didn’t ride the indoor bike and I was done with them before 10am…not too cold out there but it was still in the 40’s and I know how to dress for that…I measured the new detour route and with riding the tunnel of trees both ways, the new route is the same 12.5 miles as the old one so that is cool…I did see a duck perching on the railing of the boardwalk and I’ve never seen that before…usually the ducks stay on the other side of the dunes in Muskegon Lake where their food supply is…weird…okay, back to reading..

Well…another day of out of bed before 6 and I feel pretty worn out from it…just poured the first cup of coffee and I sure hope it gets me started soon…I think today is going to be the first day of 2 outdoor rides since it’s 50 already and that means I can get out as soon as it gets light…I did look for a new bike yesterday but one drawback is that I re-geared the ones I have to a road bike gearing to get more speed out of 24th and it will take a couple of years to wear out the gearing on any new bike…not going to replace a new crankset or cassette so I’ll have to live with the slower speed for a while…and that means I’ll be 75 before I get the gearing back to what I like…but I can at least get a new bike for 449.00 that is just like two of them I have…I guess I’ll have to think about that…okay, it’s not 50 but 42 and that is still warm enough to go out at first light…I do need to eat more than I have been with only one meal a day for a week now and I’m not sure if I’m going to buy another ham or a pork shoulder this week…Meijers has pork shoulder on sale for 1.49 a pound and that may be a good change if I can get a small one…more later…

Well..even though I did get an outdoor ride in, it has felt like a lazy Sunday today since I haven’t done anything else but read…I guess I’ll have to just accept that there will be days like this as I get older…just not a lot of motivation right now…there are too many sports on today with Michigan playing, Indycar and Nascar races, and MotoGP…hard to decide what to watch but right now it’s Michigan…going to rain Tuesday and then back to snow and rain for Thursday…still going to be cold until mid April and that sucks…I am thinking of buying a new bike since I’ve run out of parts to steal from the black bike…probably only going to have one meal today even with getting 21 miles in…today was the last day of going through the tunnel of trees until July or so with them rebuilding the road and trail on the uphill to the beach so I’ll be taking the back way starting tomorrow…okay time for Michigan…
