Well…I just don’t frickin get it…I’ve been good with no cocktails for three days and yet today I feel so darn worn out and exhausted…probably from not eating enough again but yesterday I had 2 chicken legs and some pasta salad for lunch and a bowl of rice and chicken masala… and that’s over a thousand calories for the day and I only did 25 miles…I did do 33 miles today and did the grocery run with the same lunch but some spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner with about the same calorie count so I just can’t figure it out…I haven’t slept well the past two nights so that may have something to do with it…only about 5 hours a night but I’m used to that…oh, well…maybe the pasta will help…I did get the dining room table cleaned today so I’ll have room to put the food when I tear the fridge apart to clean it tomorrow…going to do the freezer, too, and dig through old stuff in there and dump it…should be able to get to that early since I really don’t have anything else to do other than do two rides on the bike and I should have that done by 10…no bargains for protein this week but I have lots of ham in the fridge along with some random chicken in there…and I do have the ingredients to make some bean burritos which would be good and some salads…so plenty to eat even without protein…okay, need to read some…

September 18th
well…up and down all night last night and out of bed before 5:30 but I feel okay and I’ll take…I may have broken my compulsion to ride all the time with going down to only 25 miles a day…and I’m even just sitting here this morning at 5:50 instead of hurrying up and getting downstairs to ride before the grocery run…I may still do it but at least there is the possibility of not doing it and that is progress, I think…it’s only 52 out here right now and I hope it warms up a bit so I can put the top down on the car for the grocery runs…running out of those days and that sucks…oh, well…it felt good to get some things done yesterday and I hope to continue that today with cleaning the living room and putting the tools away downstairs that have been out for a month…and I need to get after ordering the new parts for the bike today, too…it will be third day of being good tonight and I’m slowly moving toward only having cocktails 2 nights a week and I should be there by the end of the month…just need to get my body back to feeling better but at my age, I wonder what that will be like? Can’t be worse….not much to do today…just going to try to have another normal day and enjoy myself a bit instead of going, going, going all the time…way too task oriented and organized and I’m going to try another way…more later…
A good day…
Well…it’s been quite a different day today and only doing two rides has had something to do with that…started out getting the two rides in but I went a little too hard with knowing I only had two to do…so, my thighs are sore right now but I can live with it…my neck is better and fingers crossed it is healing…then I went over to the library to get three new books, then back here for lunch…then I needed to get something done so I cleaned the whole kitchen and mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors while I was doing laundry…just put that away and now I’m waiting for Man U to play at 3…and I am going to really watch the match this time…or read and watch the match, not sure yet…I’m really working toward only having cocktails only two nights a week but won’t get there for a couple of weeks and that’s okay…will need to clean the living room tomorrow and maybe the dining room, too…we’ll see…time to take a break…
September 17
Well…another fitful night’s sleep after being good last night and that’s becoming a broken record for me…but, I feel okay and I haven’t even started the coffee yet…I’m hoping today will be a more normal day with emby working so I’ll have background noise all day…I am seriously thinking about going down to 25 miles a day on the bike and only doing two rides…have so much cleaning and maintenance to do around here and I have met the goal for the year and my body could use some rest and repair time…it’s only 53 out there right now so it looks like I’ll have to wait to get on the bike this morning unless I do an indoor ride and I’ll decide that here in a few minutes after I’m done here…I do want to go to the library for more books this morning but that doesn’t take much time…and I have some chicken legs that need to be cooked or frozen today and I’ll decide that in a few minutes, too…no beach today since I got a good burn yesterday and my skin won’t take the abuse…not much to do today…just going to take it a little easier and make sure I eat enough…yesterday I didn’t…more later…

Well…this was one of those days where I couldn’t get a flow going…to much unusual stuff happening…with the biggest thing was having to fix my tv shows in emby and sort them out of the 3,000 channels that are in the list and that took my almost 2 1/2 hours today…I did get two rides in today before I went out to the beach and I think it will be the last time since my chair just fell apart today…I guess I could take a couple of towels out and just sit on the sand and I just might…we’ll see…I still have the weight work to do now so this will be a short one…I did get the pasta salad made this afternoon and it is nice to have that in the fridge to go with the sandwiches…no cocktails this week until thurs and I think that will be the new norm from now on…will save some cash and calories…it looks like a three ride day tomorrow and I do need to hit the library to get more books…
September 16th
Well…running late this morning after having emby reset and trying to re construct my channels…crap…I did sleep okay last night so I guess that’s something…woke up pretty sore today and I wonder if it’s from doing three rides yesterday? Not going to do that today but I will get 25 miles in and maybe even a run out to the beach…I will have to spend a couple of hours getting the channels back on emby later and I may do that instead of going to the beach…what a pain…I noticed that I had a light out in the overhead fixture in the kitchen yesterday and put another bulb in…now it’s so damn bright in there that I may have to take that bulb out again…I know I can’t take a day off the bike but I sure want to…it would be so nice to just sit here today and let the day unfold…that’s a luxury that I would love to enjoy at some point but my brain won’t let me…oh, well…I did get the bike cleaned yesterday so I’ll have to lube it up again or it will have annoying squeaks from the swing arm bushing…I really should order the parts to rebuild it soon…not much to do today…just need to get off my butt and get moving…and right now…more later…
September 15th
Well…slept okay last night with going to bed early and not climbing out of bed til almost 6:30 this morning…not too sore today and that is welcome after hurting everywhere for such a long time…the F1 race is starting right now and I’ll be able to get on the bike before 9 and I need to if I want to get three rides in before the Lions play at 1pm…didn’t eat enough yesterday with only having a bowl of chicken masala for lunch and a salad for dinner and that is less than a thousand calories but with only doing two rides, I had to do that…didn’t get anything done yesterday and today will probably be the same with football and races on all day today and I’m going to try to not feel guilty about it…not going to work but I’ll try…the weather here has been hot and dry for weeks now and I may just go to the beach every day this week starting tomorrow…it’s not going to rain until October and that sucks a bit but I don’t have to mow the lawn so I guess that’s something…not much to do today…the little weather widget says “record highs” and it’s going to be near 90 today but this house stays pretty cool with it’s big windows….just need a little breeze…going to just wing it and get the rides in…do I dare to only do two rides for a third day in a row? Who knows? More later….
I feel like a slug…
Well…for the second day in a row I only did 25 miles on the bike and I feel like a slug from it…I mean there really wasn’t time for a third ride since I couldn’t get started to almost 10 with Man U playing from 7:30 til 10 and F1 qualifying at the same time…then after the two rides, I had just enough time to get a shower before Michigan played at noon…and after the game the xfinity race started at 3:30 and it is just finishing up right now…so I kind of had an excuse and tomorrow looks the same with F1 on at 7 til 9 but then I’m clear until 2 when the three other races start…drag racing, nascar, and indycar so if I get on the bike right at 10, that gives me the time to get three in but I wonder if I should…nowhere nearly as sore as I am when I do three rides and I really don’t need the mileage…but I’ll probably do it anyway just to burn the calories…it’s pretty darn hot out here with it still 86 at 6pm but it’s not too bad in this house…fan on the lowest speed an I’m comfortable…oh, well…I think I’ll read a bit…
September 14th
Well…it looks like it’s going to be an enforced late start to my riding today with Man U playing at 7:30 and F1 qualifying on at 8am…so I can sit and sip my coffee this morning and take it easy for a bit…slept okay last night but I still need another night of sleeping to make up for the sleep deficit earlier in the week…had an okay day yesterday but 88 degrees in the middle of September? And today is supposed to be a record high temp according to the little weather widget at the bottom of the screen…so it looks like another 2 ride day today and I’m okay with that…I really do need to get some recovery time but I’ll probably be stupid and try to ride three times today…and that will put me into riding into the afternoon and push lunch back to whenever I can fit it in…don’t need to cook today with doing the chicken masala yesterday…will probably do a salad for the second meal today since I have a lot of tomatoes in the fridge that need to be used…not much to do today…just going to drink coffee and watch Man U play to start then out on the bike by 9:30 to get two rides in before noon…but if Man U sucks I could go out earlier…and Michigan plays at noon so I will only get two rides in today…and that’s okay…more later…
Finally feeling better…
Well…finally, I’m feeling better after the reaction to the flu shot from Wed…no more pain in my hips or knees and part of that could be I only did two rides today and I think it’s the first time I’ve done that little on the bike in quite a while…I did get out to the beach for the second day in a row today and the water was even nicer than yesterday so I was in swimming for over a half hour…it’s still 88 degrees here at 6 pm but it’s comfortable in here with the fan on it’s lowest speed…I skipped lunch today with needing to cut 600 calories out of my diet and then made chicken masala for an early dinner…that came out yummy and there is enough for the next four days so I just need to figure out a second meal and that will probably be sandwiches or pasta since I have a new open jar of pasta sauce… and I can use a little variety and I have salads to make, too…and that may be the second meal for tomorrow…not sure how much longer my beach chair is going to last but I’m having a heck of a time trying to find webbing to replace the plastic jelly ribs that is on it…okay, need to read a bit…crap…forgot the weight work again…need to get on that….
