Well…damn, how the heck can I be running late at 6:15am? I need to get on the bike right now to get the rides in before 9 when the Moto GP sprint race comes on and I am getting tired of these artificial deadlines…slept okay last night and I could have stayed in bed for another hour…will only have time for one cup of coffee and I sure need more than that…huge rain just missed us to the west and that is the story of my life…my lawn is gone for the second year in a row and that sucks…haven’t had to mow it in a month but I will do it this week…mowing dirt…oh, well….at least I’m going to have some chicken tacos today with pickled red onions and I am looking forward to that…it didn’t get below 72 last night and it is really humid so I’ll be sweating after the rides…still haven’t sweated through my hat yet and that used to be the normal and I wonder what the heck changed in my body to do that? Not much to do today…need to clean some and try to get some rest…more later…

My schedule bit the dust today…
Well…you know I like having a schedule and a way to do things so I really don’t have to think about anything…but today rain came in and jumbled that all up…it is really hard to just sit here and wait when something unexpected happens…like the rain that came in this morning just as I was putting the sunscreen on for the bike rides so I had to sit here and wait til 9 when the library opened to get a few more books..it was only the second time I’ve driven my car with the top up and it’s pretty quiet…but the rain stopped just as I walked out of the library so I was able to get on the bike by 9:30 and finish the rides by around 11:30…while I was waiting for the library to open, I cut up the chicken and put it in a marinade for the tacos I’m making tomorrow and did my weight work so I guess sitting and waiting worked out okay…oh, and I hit 5,000 miles for the year on the bike today…2620 indoors and 2384 outdoors…catching up to the indoor numbers pretty quickly and should be there in a couple of weeks…it struck me that when I first got a bike computer, I was really proud to get to 500 miles by Labor day…and now 500 miles is a month’s riding…okay, have some reading to do and need to figure out what I’ll be watching on tv tonight…
Teachers are leaving red states…
Well…what did they think would happen? After the right wing assholes in charge of red states led the way in attacking teachers all day every day, teachers are leaving them in droves leading to teacher shortages in every damn red state…but I guess is what they wanted, an uneducated population is an easily manipulated one so that has been their goal all along…and there are no teachers straight out of college that want anything to do with red states…just like doctors don’t want to stay in red states to practice since they can be prosecuted for saving a woman’s life…I really don’t understand how the people in red states hate so much and are just fine with their states going to hell like this…what did teachers ever do to them? Except doing a job that gets harder every year with these assholes in charge…geez…
July 11th
Well…that was a little better…didn’t get out of bed til almost 6am but woke up at 4:30 or so and the coffee is not working yet since I just poured the first cup…it looks like rain is going to screw up my plans for the day and make me wait to get on the bike but I’ll take rain any time…need to cut up some chicken and put it in a marinade to make tacos tomorrow and I need to make more potato salad…one of the clerks at DD gave me the idea to add some celery to my recipe and I think I’ll try that with this batch…I think we talked potato salad for 5 minutes and that was fun…a nice woman that I look forward to seeing when I go there….damn, this waiting for rain is hard…reminds me of the Pink Floyd lyric from “Time”…”Staying home to watch for rain”…”but you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today”…none of that is true anymore for me and that sucks…oh, well…trying to figure out how to accomplish something as I wait for the rain or should I put the rain gear on and just get wet? I’ve never been good at waiting…and I need to go to the library to get a couple more books for the weekend..aargh…I hate waiting…more later…
A squeaky clutch pedal…
Well…when I was getting ready to go to the beach this morning, the clutch pedal on the car started to squeak just like in the old car…even though the parts are completely different…so I slithered myself into the footwell so I could see all of the moving parts way up under the dash and then started hitting all of them with some wd and finally found where the squeak was and it’s now quiet again…and now I know why the clutch take up is so different…instead of going straight up to the master cylinder like the old car, this one goes up at a 45 degree angle and the linkage is about 2 feet long…really weird looking stuff…hmmm…I did get out to the beach today but Lake Michigan turned over last night and the water was about 15 degrees colder…not even to cold but straight to pain and I only got in to my ankles before I gave up and cut the stay short since I forgot to buy a red onion and I wanted to make pickled red onion to go with the chicken tacos I’m making this weekend…so I ran over to aldis and got a bag of them for 2 bucks and there is enough of them to make 3 jars so I’ll be having them with everything for a while…need to make the marinade for the chicken tomorrow so it can sit in it overnight…so, it’s been quite a busy day and now I want to read a bit before tv time…

Well…just read an article over at Kos saying what I’ve been saying for years now…that the self-reliant red areas of the country who hate government aid (when it goes to someone else) are the areas that are most reliant on SS, Medicare, Medicaid, and food stamps and these morons voted for the idiot trump by 78%…and the ten largest metro areas, deep blue, paid more in taxes to the feds than all the rest of the red states combined…and it’s not even close…so how does that square with super patriotic, pull yourself up by your bootstraps that people in these areas spew every day? It doesn’t, I think it’s just a delusion that they have learned from fox news and the repub party to who up is down and black is white…they are about to find out how that delusion is going to give them health insurance when Medicaid is gone…and it isn’t going to…the only plan the idiot trump’s minions have is to have those on Medicaid go out in the fields to pick vegetables after all the immigrants are deported…never mind that 92% of the people getting Medicaid already work…just look at Walmart whose entire hourly workforce is on Medicaid…are they going to provide health insurance to their workers now? Nope…never in a million years…red states, get up off your lazy asses and get a job…geez…
July 10th
Well…that was a little better…slept through til 5:31 and I don’t think I’ll ever do better than that again…and that sucks…at least I’ll get back to my routine today with getting a ride in and then doing the grocery run…may even hit the beach again but I do need to pay the water bill on the 2nd ride…so I need to write the check after I get this done…and get on the bike in 30 minutes to get the day started…I really do need to clean today and it may be the fridge that has needed a cleaning for a month…need to get some meal planning done, too…and I want to make some chicken soft tacos this weekend and maybe some more potato salad so I’ll be getting a tray of chicken at aldis…and I need to use up what is in the fridge…still have corn on the cob and eggs in there and I may be getting turkey bacon at DD at 2 bucks a pound…turkey bacon? Have never had any good turkey bacon but at that price, I can take a chance…and DD has braunschwieger at 99 cents a chub so I’ll be buying some for my yearly really bad food meals…not much to do today…it will be nice to get back to my routine for the next few days until they tell me I’m dying…oh, well…I’ve lived 16 years longer than my father did so I guess that’s something…more later…
What a day…
Well…what a day…it started way too early having to be in GH by 6:45…but the ultrasound was easy and I had a very nice tech…one concerning thing was they did every damn organ in my body except my left kidney…gall bladder, liver, spleen, pancreas, and right kidney and I wonder what the heck they are looking for and I wonder why they haven’t told me….I guess I’ll find out in 5-7 days when the results are in…so here I sit, waiting out another set of tests that could seal my doom or at least make my life worse than it is…I’m just tired of dealing with health problems…it is so damn wearing…after that I got the rides in and even went to the beach for a bit but I still had 100 sunscreen on from riding so I didn’t get any extra color…but I did get a swim in and the water was still warm enough to be in for as long as I wanted…okay, tv time…and I’m late for that today…

Well…with the orange idiot promising to deport anyone who is not white European….all of those jobs the immigrants do are centered in the food industry and we can see the prices of protein already heading through the roof…beef is at it’s highest price ever in real dollars and there is no relief in sight with beef stocks at the lowest they’ve been since the 1960’s…and the ranchers, who all voted for trump, are sure the tariffs on feed grain from Canada are a huge factor in their rising costs…and many ranchers are just giving up and selling their farms…so if you like beef, you are screwed…I’m glad I stopped eating it last year…but it’s not just beef prices, it’s all food prices that are going to skyrocket as immigrants have just stopped showing up as the idiot’s gestapo attacks farms and food processing plant across the country…so now there is food rotting all over this country that there is no one to harvest it…and you just have to look at Florida and the draconian laws against immigrants from a few years back…the immigrants just left the state and up to half the tomatoes and other vegetables rotted in the fields…how about 4 bucks for a tomato to go with your 4 dollar a dozen eggs? Or just no veggies available at all? That is where we’re heading as the racist asshole in chief destroys the food industry….geez…
July 9th
Well…it’s 4:50 am and I’ve been up since 4:30 and I guess I need to get started getting ready for the ultrasound that I have to be in GH for at 6:45…slept really crappy and the no food or drink thing is getting old…as are all of the damn doctor appointments and tests…after this one, no more…I’ve had enough…it stayed almost 70 overnight and it will be warm enough to put the top down on the car for the GH run and I’ll have the headlights on in the car for the first time….and I may have to wait til tomorrow to do the grocery run since I don’t think the ultrasound is going to take more than a half hour and Aldi won’t be open until 8:30 so the timing doesn’t work…so maybe I’ll just get back here, eat something, and then get the rides in…and then get back to my normal life what there is of it…I am going to heat up some coffee and put it in the contego cup along with a hydro flask of ice water for the trip back…this is going to be a long day…it is so humid I’m sweating just sitting here…ick…more later…
