Bye, bye jobs…

Well…with the incompetent idiot in charge, and just like everything he touches dies…idiot boy has killed the job market in this country…the latest data released today showed that employers have CUT 23,000 jobs in July and the previous 2 months have been revised from even the anemic job additions to basically 0 jobs added…so we went from adding 2-300,000 jobs a month under Biden to this crap and it’s all trump’ fault from his stupid tariffs to his illegal war with Iran…and people are starting to realized that the repubs are terrible at policies that help add jobs since they don’t care at all about it…for the billionaires to get their tax cuts they are right on it…but anything else they can’t be bothered and they let an ignorant, economic illiterate call all the shots on the economy…now the repubs and idiot boy are underwater and less than 40% of the people think they know what they’re doing…and people are tired of this crap which I hope translates into crushing these assholes in November…geez…

I’m stealing this from Thom Hartmann…

Well…as expected, the repubs and the right win chattering class of pundits are freaking out that Abdul El-Sayed won the primary for senator from here in Michigan and the Marxism, communist bullshit is flying from them since they have nothing else…okay, I’m stealing a lot of this from Thom Hartmann over at Kos but he clarifies what this fall’s election is really about so well that I can’t do anything better than to paraphrase…so, here we go…this election is not about voting for Karl Marx or communism or anything the right is bleating about…it’s about getting back to where money is not hoarded by the billionaire class who have been stealing this country since reagan started the tax cutting nonsense that has been shown to only concentrate wealth and not create jobs or benefit anyone but the rich…we just want fairness and what every other industrial country has…they want no fear that if one person in a family gets sick, the family is decimated…evidenced by the fact that there were almost a million medical related bankruptcies here when there are none in any other country…how about an education system that is fully funded from kindergarten to college and that doesn’t put people into debt (to the tune of 2 trillion dollars) and everyone who can do the work is encouraged to engage in building the skills we need in this country…every other country does that…not here…they want a system where voting is easy and can’t be hijacked by billionaires and corporations buying elections…and finally they just want jobs that will pay enough for people to afford to buy a home and raise a family on one income…just like it used to back before reagan…so, you get the point..we are not looking for communism or marxism…we are looking for a country and government that helps people when they need it and is the referee that enforces fairness and makes the people worth just as much as corporations and billionaires…is that too much to ask? geez…

August 7th

Well…darn, not up until a little after 5 and I’m already behind for the day at 5:44 an I’m still not sure how that happens…yeah, I know, it’s just that I still feel like I have a schedule at this ripe old age but who knows how to stop that? I sure don’t but I guess I’ll just have to live with it…slept okay for me last night and I’m hoping that the coffee works soon but I’m only on the first half cup so I’m behind on that, too..didn’t have enough leftover coffee in the carafe so I just made another pot so I’ll have enough to take on the bike for the 2nd ride…the AQI is back to concerning levels again today at about 100 but that is not high enough for me to wear a mask out there…and the goldenrod is blooming so I’m going to be miserable for the next month or so…we need some rain to wash the pollen out of the air and may get some tonight and tomorrow…ha,ha…yeah, you know how I feel about rain in the forecast…going to clean the kitchen today and maybe my bedroom to get rid of the cobwebs and vacuum the rug in there…the bedding is due to be done so that may be a project for today, too…I did service the bike yesterday to lube the chain, cables, and swingarm but I do need to clean everything to get the gunk out of the chain that builds up over time…haven’t washed it in a while but I’ll probably wait til after I get it dirty again in the rain….more later…

Got some work done…

Well…got to the point today where I really needed to accomplish something or I’d rekindle my guilt that I’ve been suppressing lately…so I started out by servicing the bike after the two rides and running over to the city offices to pay my water bill…it cost me 10 bucks to water the lawn for 2 hours over 2 days and I really need it to rain so I don’t have to spend money on it…after I got the bike done and did a bit of reading, I got after cleaning the bathroom from top to bottom and even found some clr to remove the water residue build up that gets applied just by using the shower…lots of lime scale and other stuff that I finally got rid of…now the shower is shiny and smooth again…had that done by noon so after that I treated myself to some reading and finished off the latest “Reacher” book I got from the library…I do like the laptop fan/stand since even on the lowest setting…it moves plenty of air even with no rise of the keyboard…so a good purchase for 14 bucks…started to buy some clothes for Italy today with getting a pair of shorts for 17 bucks…hope they fit…okay back to Jeffrey Deaver…

People have had enough of the repubs…

Well…it appears that people have had enough of the repubs trying to take away rights and rig the system for only their benefit..In Missouri, the repubs there tried to take away the ability of the people to put constitutional amendments up for a vote since the people were really pissing them off for adding things that the people wanted but the repubs hated…like the ability to participate in their state government…yeah, how’d that work out for you, repubs? Not so good when the proposal the repubs tried to jam through went down to crushing defeat with 81% of the vote against it…and this trend continued in Kansas where the repubs wanted to replace the appointed SC judges with electing them and bringing unlimited money into the races that the repubs knew would skew the court to their advantage…but the people of Kansas said no to the tune of over 60% of the vote and that kept the non partisan way of seating judges intact again pissing the repubs off….which I think needs to happen more in this country…look, we need to use every tool at our disposal to stop this undemocratic bullshit being foisted on us by a tiny minority of right wing assholes…geez…

August 6th

Well…here’s the first post using the new stand and I think I’s going to be okay…it’s a little different to have the keyboard elevated but I think it will be easier on my hands…I did figure out the slow drain in the bathroom yesterday after I got tired of it filling the sink and taking forever to empty…and the clog was right at the top of the drain just under the stopper that I got cleared with a screwdriver…the clog still had drain cleaner in it and I burned my hand a little from it…at least the damn thing is clear…okay, who the hell listens to “christian” hip hop? That was what was coming from the park last night on the first night of the 4 days of christian music festival that I’m already tired of…oh, well…don’t have a lot to do today other than ride the bike and hit the city offices to pay the water bill…probably should clean some since the kitchen and bathroom need a once over and I think I’ll start with the bathroom when I get back from the rides…got some whipped Philly cream cheese for 99 cents at DD yesterday and I may try that out on the bagel this morning just to see if I like it or not…depends on if it’s thawed or not but I need to get moving to have enough time before I need to get on the bike….more later…

Got the new laptop stand…

Well….this is pretty cool…just got the new laptop stand and it is pretty nice…have the fans running and it set on the lowest height and it’s just about perfect…this is what I was looking for to get the computer up off the couch and allow some air to get to the fan…just checked the temp after running it for 10 minutes or so and it is shut down cold…damn, could there be a product that doesn’t disappoint? This could be it…and I can barely hear the fans…so, I’ll be trying it out for a while but so far, so good…

Not much work done…

Well…another day with not much work done and I’m okay with that…my not work days are usually busier than most and I did get some small things done…started out today with the 1st ride in the rain…had my rain gear on and it was soaked by the time I got back here…but the 2nd ride was dry but I really kind of hoped it wouldn’t be since we need the rain…oh, well…then I hauled butt out to do the grocery run that I really need to stop…I mean I don’t have anything else to do and yet I blast through it as fast as I can…and it’s not that I don’t like grocery shopping…it’s a chance to get out of here and see people and drive the car…that I hooned around a bit running it up to the 7K redline a couple of times…sounds pretty cool with a 4cylinder with dual exhausts…and I had 3 stores to go to today with DD having a 1.00 sale on…I mean I got Italian salami for a buck for 12 ozs and some cracker sized ham for the same price…stuff that is bad for me but I’m on statins now so maybe I’m immune to high cholesterol? Ha, ha…that’s not how it works, I know…just made another jar of pickles and I have the recipe for that down now…can replicate the taste every time and I may try to make some whole pickles once just to see if it works…and I ground beans for tomorrow’s coffee but now I’m done other than reading…so that’s what I’ll do…oh,I do have to write a check for the water bill I’m paying tomorrow…watering the lawn for two days cost me 10 bucks so you can see what it would be if I watered every day…

They don’t understand…

Well…with Abdul El-Sayed winning the dem primary for senate yesterday, it again looks like the dem “leadership” in this country doesn’t understand the political atmosphere at all…his opponent, Stevens was just a corporate dem that leaned to repub lite which shows by her praising ICE for doing a “good job” and taking 40 million dollars in AIPAC money to try to buy the seat for her while El-Sayed’s campaign was supported by the people…the super pacs that Stevens relied on are just another form of the cancer that is eating at this country…she really didn’t seem to have any long held beliefs but the terrible one of “bipartisanship” that will get us nowhere in this political environment…now the task will be to defeat the trump clone that is running on the repub side and who has appeared side by side with the idiot promising to enact more of his criminal agenda that Michigan and this country just don’t need…geez…

August 5th

Well…up early again today since I want to get the rides in before the grocery run…but that could be a problem since it’s raining right now but not hard so I may just put the rain gear on and go out anyway in the dark…it’s over 70 so I don’t mind riding in the rain…and I really don’t want to wait til after the run to get the rides in…I guess we’ll see…slept okay last night but it gets harder to wake up and get moving as I get older and I wonder if I should move the coffee timer up to 5am since I usually up by then anyway…or I could just wait til I get up to start it since it’s not something I’ll ever forget to do…had a lazy day yesterday and today will be the same other than cleaning…I really do wish we’d have a day where it rains all day so I could just clean and listen to the rain all day…and that would keep the idiots from burning their campfires…there was a house that someone had started to rehab down the hill on 7th but it appears that it was hopeless and they tore it down yesterday…now come and do the rental…please…it’s in worse shape than the one they tore down and it really should be next…not much to do today…need to make a bagel to get the day started and pour down another cup of coffee and get on the bike by 6am….more later…

What you never want to be….
