Well…as of today, I only have about 44 miles to go to get to 4,000 for the year so far and I am quickly catching up to the indoor mileage total with the outdoor miles…2,054 indoors and 1,902 outdoors…got three rides in today before 11am but tomorrow looks a bit iffy with rain all day so I may only get 16 miles in downstairs…my body can use the rest but we’ll see…it’s 85 out here today but the temp is going to drop to 70 or so Thurs and then down into the 60’s for a couple of days…I have flowers on almost all of my veggies and the pollinators have done a great job since I have tiny little beans on some of the plants…the peas have flowered along with one Jalapeno plant and the two big tomato plants have flowers on them so more successful already than last year…and I have 6 cuke plants that seem to be doing okay and I sure hope to get a few for pickles this year…even have 6 sunflowers that have survived…oh, when I went out to ride I found a shredded rabbit carcass lying next to the garden and I wonder if it was a coyote or a group of feral cats? Don’t know but half of the rabbit was gone and the half left over was mostly skin and feet….one less rabbit to attack my garden…
Finally…pushback…
Well…today Merrick Garland testified in the clown show of the house run by the repubs today and it wasn’t pretty…for the repubs…Garland called gaetz a liar to his face and that Joe Biden had nothing to do with the 34 felonies that idiot boy was convicted of…and then gaetz just got up and left after his time was up since it was all just grandstanding bullshit from him and all of the repubs as they try to figure out a way to spin the convictions and kiss idiot boy’s ass…I have been asking for this kind of thing for a long time and Garland brought it when he schooled gaetz like a toddler, explaining to him that the WH has no authority over the STATE courts in NY where the idiot was convicted…contrast that with what Joe Biden hasn’t said as his only remaining son goes on trial today…no “rigged courts” no “proffering of a pardon”, no attacks on the prosecutor or the courts in general…all things that idiot boy is still doing…so don’t tell me that both candidates are the same…geez…
June 4th
Well…up at 5:07 this morning and I already have a load of laundry in and I’m waiting for it to get light so I can get on the bike by 7am…it’s over 70 already so I’ll be out in shorts and t-shirt when I go….we missed the storms last night as they went to the north of us and that sucks since I’m losing the lawn already after 7 days of dry weather…I did get the yard work done yesterday so today will be a bit easier but I do need to grill more chicken and asparagus to have enough food to do two meals today…have been under eating for a long time now and that needs to change at some point…not as sore as I expected today after doing all of the overhead work trimming the trees and the three rides yesterday…inching up to 4,000 miles and will get there later in the week…allergies have been brutal the past few days and nothing has been helping…coughing and my head has been feeling like it’s filled with cement with lots of pain….and I’m worn out from it…not much to do today…it’s 6:15 and I’ll be out on the bike by 7 to get the day started but need more coffee first…man, it’s going to be hard today…more later….
12,142 posts
Well…damn, I went over 12,000 posts here and didn’t even notice until right now…12,142 posts…damn, I’ve been doing this a long time now…and I still like doing it so I guess I’ll keep it up…it has been a good idea to keep my Mastodon account politics free and do that here since I control everything here…and Mastodon is for fun only…just looked at the date of the first one of these and it was April 3rd 2010…14 years of coming here every day for at least one and on most days now it is 3…so, keep coming back…I may even have something interesting to say…thanks
Happy world bicycle day!
Well…who knew there was a “world bicycle day”? It’s been all over Mastodon today and I did my part by riding 38 miles outdoors today and had that done before 11am…then I got out and did some tree trimming so I can walk under them to mow the lawn…put 8 big bundles of them out along with a bag with trimmings from the trash tree…oh, and fed the lawn with leftover food…so it’s 2:30pm and I’m done for the day…so sore from working overhead and using my right thumb and everything on my left side hurt from the second ride on so there is going to be lots of treatment later…have never had my left tricep hurt but it was howling all ride…the biofreeze did help some but not enough…I really may have to take it easy for a couple of days to heal up…and the pain will get worse with the two day rule coming into effect Wed…Going to hold on taking any ibuprofen until the normal time of 7pm but my hands hurt so much I sure could use it right now…maybe some voltaren for my thumb….
Why do you think they are spinning so hard?
Well…after the orange idiot got convicted of 34 felonies last week, the right wing propaganda machine went into high gear trying to convince the public and especially the maga assholes that being convicted is a good thing and that it was a”rigged” trial…why do you think they are spinning so hard? Polls that were done after the conviction have shown that yes, being a convicted felon is not a good thing when you’re running for office…especially since even a good portion of repubs think he should drop out of the race…and our side hasn’t even run any ads yet focused on the undecided voters using the convictions as the topic…and once we start educating the people on what the repubs have planned if they take over the government…hint: it’s full fascism…and once it’s explained, even the maga don’t like it….so, it’s looking better for us and it will be even better once idiot boy is sentenced July 11th…;geez…
June 3rd
Well…it’s pretty foggy out here today and I’ll be riding in it soon…crap, it hurts to pick up my coffee cup today and I’ll have to work through that to do the yard work…need to trim some tree branches on the mulberry tree and continue to try to kill the damn trash trees growing in my fence…and I think I’ll feed the lawn again using all of the leftover lawn food in the garage…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but the bike rides and I’m going to do another 38 miles today before I get working on the yard…have more chicken thighs that need to be grilled tomorrow and I wonder if I should go out and get another green pepper to grill with it? Still have more asparagus and it’s on sale again this week so I’ll get more since it’s great on the grill…damn, it’s funny that my poor old body has been popping since my knees started when I climbed out of bed…my neck and shoulders followed that up and I wonder what spurred that? It’s going to be around 80 today and the wind is only going to be around 10 so that will make for good rides today…and it will be out of the south which makes it even easier….not much to do today…just the yard work after the rides and I’ll be on the bike before 7:30 to get started….but I need more coffee first….more later…
38 miles today…
Well…haven’t had time to even look at the news yet so the political one will be later…did three rides for 38 miles today and it was fun…saw lots of deer and a huge snapping turtle on the trail and it was really pretty easy…don’t hurt at all and had plenty of energy so that is welcome…and I grilled some chicken thighs, asparagus, yellow potatoes, and a green pepper and the pepper came out so good that I wonder why I’ve never done that before? Sure hope I get some out of the garden this year…treated all the veggies with olive oil, garlic powder, dried onions, salt and pepper…yummy…I just love that old Weber my brother gave me…and I got the front suspension bushings lubed while I was cooking so that was cool…so I really don’t have much to do the rest of the day…I can use some time off…more later…
June 2nd
Well…damn, how can I be running late already with getting up at 6:26 and just starting the first cup of coffee? Need to get on the bike outside before 7:30 to get three rides in before noon to make up for only doing 2 rides yesterday…it rained for hours out here and my lawn really needed it…really close to losing it for another year after being dry for over a week and the rain is going to help the garden, too….should probably feed the lawn again and I need to whack the trash trees in my fence so I can put the lawn bag out Monday night…the sunflowers have survived a few weeks now and I wonder if I can finally get them to flower without the damn animals cutting them down? Have to add a few new strings to the lattice to give the pea plants something to hang onto but I don’t see them flowering yet…the beans have started to put out flowers and the cuke plants just may survive this year so the garden may just be a success this year…going to grill some food today with chicken thighs, potatoes, asparagus and green pepper going on it with garlic powder and dried onions…and I’ll take the tires off the front of the car and shoot the suspension bushings with WD as I wait for the food to cook…but I need to get moving right now to make that happen…more later…
Ran out of energy…
Well…damn, felt really lousy when I got up this morning so I skipped the indoor ride to let the coffee work a bit…but when I got out for the first ride, I knew there was something wrong other than having a couple of cocktails last night since I felt really shaky on the bike and barely had enough energy to climb the last hill coming back here…so, I had an idea what it was and made a couple of slices of whole wheat bread with peanut butter and that almost immediately made me feel better…I sat here for a half hour so I could watch the MotoGP sprint race and by that time, I was almost back to normal and the second ride was much better…but I stayed with only two rides today to let my body get better…and I’m sure that’s the result of being under 1K calories for a few days but I did it again today with just a bowl of soup and some chicken masala with rice but I’m used to that so changing it will be a little tougher than I expected…I think that will change tomorrow when I grill some chicken thighs with small yellow potatoes and asparagus….and the damn cottonwood tress have started to shed and it looked like riding in a snowstorm…coughing and sneezing on both rides…that might have something to do with how I felt…at least it rained out here and that may wash some of the pollen out…
