Well…not sure how I slept last night…might have been okay but I woke up at a little after 5 again but I don’t remember if I woke up earlier than that…but how I feel says I did…feel like I’m in low gear but I know I need to get moving soon…only 32 minutes until I need to get on the bike but the two rides are all I need to do today…not looking forward to going downstairs in the cold today….and I won’t be outside since it is still cold and raining but the wind has died down after howling most of the night…I think I do need to eat more today after having a chicken tender sandwich and a bowl of soup yesterday but without an outdoor ride, it may have been just about right…and today will be just two bowls of soup….will be done with what I need to do before 10 and I am looking forward to that….to having a day that is not filled with tasks as they have been for what seems like weeks now…right now I need more coffee and to ease into the day…18 minutes until I need to get on the bike and I really don’t want to…but, I will…more later…
Another day on the run…
Well…I really don’t know how it keeps happening, but today was another day on the run that lasted til a little after 3 this afternoon…started with a ride at 7am that lasted an hour…then out for the grocery runs to get the carrots I needed for the ham soup…then back on the bike, then got the laundry started and got the ham bones in the instant pot for an hour that really takes almost two with it having to come up to pressure and then release it…then I cut the veggies for the soup and put those under pressure for 10 minutes…then I finished the soup and it came out really good as it always does using the recipe I’ve developed over the years….man, it’s pouring out here and the high winds are slamming it into the side of the house…maybe tomorrow will be easier? I sure won’t have to cook with two kinds of soup in the fridge that will keep me fed the rest of the week…and I’ve cleared some of the clutter out of the freezer so it was a good day…now I need to do the weight work…
Even Florida hates repubs policies…
Well…as the repubs in red states try to outdo each other in how many rights they can take away from women, women and their allies are fighting back even in Florida where they have just gotten a citizen led constitutional amendment on the ballot to protect reproductive freedom…even as the repub controlled legislature is working feverishly to pass an outright ban on abortion…and the polling on the issue makes it appear like it will pass easily since more than 70% of those polled want it to pass…the repubs were so stupid when they packed the supreme court with lying right wing assholes who overturned Roe when they testified they wouldn’t…and I am still amazed that they got away with the clear lies when it is against the law and all of the right wingers on the court should be charged with perjury…so what is the repubs response? In almost all the red states they are making it harder or impossible to put these initiatives on the ballot so then the people will have no recourse against the unpopular ideas of the repubs…cheating as usual…geez…
April 2nd
Well…damn, I wonder how I went from sleeping through the night last week to not sleeping at all last night? Up too many times to count and feel so darn worn out that it’s going to be almost too much effort to do the grocery run this morning…but I want to make ham soup today and don’t have any carrots to put in it…need to get the first ride in before that and I’m hoping to get an outdoor ride in to keep up the 30 miles a day I need to make the goal…but the little weather widget just said “high winds today” so it may be a chore to go outside today…got a lot done yesterday and I’m easing up to taking a day off at some point soon just to get some rest…my allergies are really bad this morning with my nose running and head plugged up…when it warms up, I need to hit Menards for some deck wash to scrub the front steps and get the algae off of them…did that the first summer I was here but it grew back and now looks an ugly green…but that will wait until I get the hoses out and can spray it after I scrub…not much to do today…well, that’s not true…going to be running again today and won’t be done til late afternoon but that will set me up to have an easy day tomorrow….more later…
Busy, busy day…
Well…man, it was a busy day today and it all got started with the first bike ride at 7am…then out to run some errands into town to pay my water bill and then over to the library for 3 more books…over to Meijers to drop off a prescription, and then a quick run over to DD to get some more turkey and I think I hit the best deal I’ve gotten there…I mean 1.25 a pound for thin sliced smoked turkey breast? That is a freezer filler and I need to find room in there for it…oh, and 1.99 for a pound and a half of bacon? Then back on the bike for the second indoor ride, lunch, and then on the outdoor bike for another 15 miles…got back from that about 1:30 and then just fooled around and started to read the new books that I am going to go back to right now…

Well…with the stock in the idiot trump’s latest scam in freefall…I just want to say “told you so” but I have no feeling at all for the trumper idiots who gave him millions of dollars for stock in a company that had 1.4 million dollars in revenue last year and lost 52 million in that same time frame…I sure idiot boy was counting on his followers to be ignorant about reading the prospectus from the IPO and not sophisticated enough to understand that the fundamentals for the stock makes it not much more than a penny stock and that’s why not one institutional investor would touch it…maga folks, you have been lied to and scammed again…is this the one that will make you see idiot boy for what he is? Nope…these people are not too bright…geez…
April 1st
Well…damn, I’m worn out today…and I sure don’t want to get on the bike but I will in 20 minutes…need to run an errand this morning to get a refill on a prescription and head over to DD for some roasted turkey for 2.50 a pound and I need to pay the water bill and pick up 3 more books to read…and I need to get an outdoor ride in before it starts to rain this aft…so I have a busy day ahead and I don’t want to have them anymore…didn’t get much done yesterday but it will be a day of accomplishments if I do it right…12 minutes before I have to get on the bike…I did get the potato soup made yesterday and made more than normal so it should last the entire week…not sure what the second meal is going to be for the week but I do need to start emptying the freezer some…I do need to make some ham soup in the instant pot to use up the celery before it goes bad so that will happen in the next couple of days…and that will free up some room in the freezer by taking the ham bones out…but that will be filled by the containers of soup…it seems it’s a never ending cycle…more later…
A nice afternoon…
Well…after getting the outdoor ride in this afternoon, I settled in to read and had a nice afternoon…while I was getting ready to make some potato soup, I stumbled on an Eagles concert from the time after Glenn Frey died…and they had Glenn’s son and Vince Gill filling in..man, I’ve seen them live 3 times and I just love those songs…and got a little down that I’ll probably never see another concert…and that kind of sucks…and then Queen’s Wembley stadium concert came on…Freddy Mercury is just so damn talented…so the race is coming on in 15 minutes so I need top get ready for that….oh, the mileage on the bike at the end of March is 1,888 so I only missed the goal by 112 miles and I blame the crappy weather we’ve had out here keeping me inside…oh, again…I did finish up the third book today so there will be a trip to the library tomorrow…
Nuke Gaza?
Well…we sure do grow them stupid here in Michigan…just yesterday, one of our repub congresscritters thought he was supporting Israel when he said Gaza should be nuked to look like Hiroshima and to use as many bombs as it takes…now when you get stupidity mixed with hatred, it’s not a good look but that doesn’t stop the repubs these days…but one thing these Michigan assholes have to remember is that the state is much less gerrymandered now and even in red leaning districts they can get voted out of office with stupid bullshit like this…I could find the name of the guy who said it but if I find out I’ll do another one…geez…
March 31st
Well…I guess I’m back to normal with my sleep patterns after two days of sleeping through the night…up at 3:04, 5:11 and then up a little after 6…oh, well…man, I hope the coffee starts to work soon…can’t remember when taking the day off of everything looked so attractive but I won’t…and that means I need to get on the bike by 7:30…not sure why I’m still driven to keep this up at my age and 91 days of no rest is taking a toll….had an okay day yesterday even with getting wet on the bike and I think I’ll need to wash the rear shifter before I get on it today…I could feel the grit in the idler wheels by the time I got back here…I do need to cook today and I think I’ll do the potato soup later and make the ham and potatoes for lunch…every time I make a ham I have to make that dish with lots of ketchup on it…yeah, I know that’s weird but it just tastes like home fries…and I’ll use the last of the ham in the potato soup…it will be nice to have something different after ham for a week…not much to do today…just need to get moving and start the day and that is getting pretty hard…but I’ll do it…have to…more later…
