Well…I never thought I’d see it but they House is finally going to expel George Santos…it’s about time…with almost 30 felony charges against him and the new report from the Ethics Committee that says that he misused his office to try to enrich himself and broke almost every rule of the house while doing it…the only reason they are doing this to Santos when the idiot trump has done 3 times the crimes is that he doesn’t have the rabid base that probably would attack anyone (and already has) he wants them to…so the brave repubs in the House can make a show of policing their own…a cynical bit of political theater to try to limit the damage Santos is doing to their electoral prospects….but what about the other 200+ repubs who are just as crooked in the house? What about Jim Jordan who covered up sexual abuse of athletes when he was at Ohio State? Or Matt Gaetz who sexually abused underage girls in Florida? You get the picture…Santos is not the only one of these cretins that need to go but these guys think they’ve done their duty by getting rid of Santos…it’s not enough…geez…
November 17th
Well…coffee…coffee…just poured the first cup and I need it to work soon so I can get out for the grocery run by 8:15….slept okay last night but I don’t feel like it…I wonder if that means I didn’t sleep okay? I probably should have done the groceries yesterday since I’m not doing another turkey and don’t need to thaw it…but, I didn’t so I’ll just have to suck it up and do it today….didn’t get much done yesterday but I’ll have to get off my butt today and do something…not sure what but something…think I’ll clean the living room today to get the dust out of here and then vacuum the rug both in here and in my bedroom…and I need to get back to doing my core exercises today since I feel a little weak there…it looks like it’s raining out there right now and it is going to get COLD here the first part of the week and stay cold for almost a week…highs in the 30’s so the rides will be downstairs for a while…I would like to get to 3K miles outdoors and I’m only 50 miles away from that….not much to do today…just need to do the grocery run and try to get the rides in…can’t wait to cook something since I’ve had so much turkey leftovers for the past week…potato bacon soup and BLT’s for the next week…oh, and some breakfasts with eggs and bacon…more later…

Well…the government shutdown nonsense has been kicked down the road until after New Years and it’s because of the dems that anything got passed…and we save the day…again…I, for one, am really tired of his crap but we did get what we wanted and that was to keep the right wing assholes from gutting every program that helps normal people…and they didn’t get any tax cuts for their rich buddies, either…so we now have a clean continuing resolution that will keep things operating for 6 weeks….and the really galling thing is that there were over 90 repubs in the House that voted against…you know the ones…who are so ignorant they have no clue how the government even works but they do know that people living “easy” on SS don’t deserve it…so now I can breathe easy for 6 more weeks and know I’ll still have enough money to live on….geez…
November 16th
Well…damn, I’m worn out today and it’s after 7:15 and just poured the first cup of coffee…slept okay but, of course, I don’t feel like I did….I did have an okay day yesterday and got the end of life stuff started and that is both depressing and relieving when I think of it…I did get two rides in yesterday and I’ll have to get going as soon as it gets light to get two in before the gale warning kicks in at a little after noon…the weather is going to change with high temps crashing down to the high 30’s next week…the wind is supposed to be 25-35 with gusts to 50 and that is what hurt me the other day….but the hip pain is gone so I’ll take it…not sure if I’m going to buy a turkey tomorrow with buying the 5 pounds of bacon yesterday and I am starting to get tired of turkey…I could make some potato soup and put bacon in it and make some blt’s and I have so much food in the freezer that I really should just eat out of there instead…and I could make the turkey soup so I think I’ll do that instead…so I’ll just need celery and onion…need to see if I have egg noodles in the pantry…not much to do today…need to finish off the turkey over the next two days and then I’ll cook over the weekend…think I’ll get a baguette to dip in the potato soup…this will be the fist time in many, many years that I won’t have a turkey for t-day but things change and I’m okay with that….more later…

Well…damn, the entire day got a way from me today and just didn’t have time to look at the news til right now and it’s after 6…I did get all my paperwork done this afternoon and did get a chance to get to DD for center cut bacon at 8 bucks for 5 pounds and that filled the freezer back up again so there is no room for another carcass if I get another turkey Friday…not sure if I’ll be able to keep it but there may be some things in there that need to go…I did get the chance to put the top down for running around today so that was cool but the temp is going to drop like a rock starting Sat so it won’t be down again this month…so I guess I’ll go out and read the news to look for a topic….more later…
November 15th
Well…one of these days, I’m going to just noodle around here and do what I want instead of what I need to do…I am so tired of starving myself, forcing myself to get on the bike, and all the other things I do to try to extend my life and stay healthy….I wonder how long I would last if I just stopped? Okay, not going to do that….but man, I remember the days when I just let life happen and it felt good….slept okay last night but sure don’t feel like it this morning…it’s almost 7:30 and I’m still working on the first cup of coffee….it’s getting light and I will be able to get on the bike soon since it’s 45 right now…I do have the end of life seminar to do this afternoon to get my medical power of attorney set up and get my daughter set up as my emergency contact…and fill out my DNR paperwork…we have talked about how I want it handled when she was here but it needs to be down on paper…I had a damn squeak in the bike yesterday that I will try to fix with some wd before I go out today….need to clean the bike before it gets cold so I can lube it up for storage….not much to do today…just the rides and the seminar…it will be warm enough to put the top down on the car today when I run out to my doctor’s office…but that is not exciting me and that sucks….more later…

Well…do you ever miss just reading a good newspaper? When I was growing up, even in the medium sized town of Grand Rapids, we had two full fledged newspapers that we staffed for local, national, and world news and only cost a quarter with the huge Sunday was only 50 cents…and both papers were worth the money and supported hundreds of good jobs for both reporters and production staff…that began to change when venture capital, supported by billionaires started buying papers across the country and the need for huge profit to pay them back started the inevitable slide that is still happening today…cripes, back then we even had a little paper called the “Suburban Life” that reported on life in Ada, Lowell, and all of the other small villages around GR…but now? They don’t even print the Grand Rapids Press here anymore and the Sunday paper is now 5 dollars and it is about the thickness that the daily paper used to be…sure not worth it so I don’t buy it anymore…how the hell did the paper support hundred of jobs for 70+ years and now it’s essentially gone…it’s the billionaires, folks hoovering up all the cash in this country…but there is a movement starting to have taxes fund local newspapers across the country in areas where the news in print, tv, and radio is either owned by right wing billionaires or doesn’t even exist anymore…I for one would chip in for an independent newspaper here in Muskegon that actually paid reporters and printed objective, truthful news along with an opinion page that would be clearly titled as opinion…just like it used to be before the billionaires wrecked the whole thing…geez…
November 14th
Well…running a bit late this morning but I’ve already gotten a load of laundry in and it’s just 7:30…but I’ve just poured the first cup of coffee so it’s no help so far…my hip still hurts a bit but I’m not sure if it’s the hip or a groin problem since it’s on the inside and not where it normally hurts…but I can walk with just a little pain and stiffness so I think it will be okay…I will be getting on the bike as soon as it gets warm enough and I wonder if I should try to do three rides today to make up for abandoning the ride due to pain….have to remember to wd the pedals since the left one was clicking and the idlers on the rear shifter are making a little noise…it’s only 34 out there right now so it will be a while until I can get out…looks like about 11 or so and I do want to get outdoor rides in for the next few days….then the temp crashes and I’ll be indoors for a while….didn’t get a lot done yesterday…no, that’s not true…I worked on the yard for 4 hours yesterday and that is part of why I hurt so much…everywhere…not much to do today…just going to ride and then figure out what else to do….should do some cleaning but I’m not too motivated right now….more later…

Well…you know, the media has been trying it’s little heart out trying to not call a spade a spade when they talk about trump and his minions who are still trying to take over the country…but this time it’s in the shadows and funded by all the right wing billionaires…but that’s not what this one is about…one of the things that media won’t do is call the idiot trump that fascist that he is…so it was left to independent media to do it…and the neat trick is they didn’t just say it, they lined up lines from Hitler’s speeches beside what trump said in a speech over the weekend and they are word for word identical…right down to idiot boy call Americans that hate him “vermin” the exact term that Hitler used against his enemies…I guess we shouldn’t be surprised when it is know that idiot boy always kept a copy of “Mein Kampf” on his nightstand and would read it incessantly as he litsten to Hitler’s speeches…so is he a facist? Hell yes…and he need to be called that…geez…

Well…crap…after getting all of my yard work done that took all morning, I ignored the high wind blowing out there and got on the bike…it wasn’t too bad for the first couple of miles but when I made the turn to go straight into it, something popped in my right hip and then howling pain ever time I pedaled…almost had to get off the bike and walk it up the last climb up to my house…so now I’m sitting here on the couch with heat on my hip hoping that I can walk later…no ibuprofen yet but will probably need some later…whacked my left shin on the mower bag and now I have a 1/2 inch high welt across it the will be black and blue later…need to take the rest of the day of to repair this old body…
