Well…when I got up this morning, I didn’t really feel like doing anything even with sleeping in til 7…and that continued for quite a while until after lunch…I did make the chicken Masala for lunch but that is the only meal for the day…had the chicken over some rice with one piece of Naan bread and with a glass of milk that should be about 600 calories for the day…then I got on the bike for two rides and got the laundry done so I did get a few things done…after that, all I did was finish up the 6th book I’ve read since I got the 30 books from the library…I do have to set the clocks back this afternoon so I don’t have to do it in the morning and my coffee maker will have the coffee brewed at the right time…it was a little relaxing knowing I’ve got the tree removal set up but now I think I’m going to replace that one in the middle of the yard and it’s down to either a red maple or an apple tree…I won’t live long enough to see apples off it but the next owner will…so I’ll need to have them chip the tree stump out…and I’ve decided to try to keep the low hanging branch on the big tree since it rebounded nicely after I trimmed the branches at the end of it and the leaves are not wilted so the circulation is still working even with a small crack in the bark….
November 4th
Well…that was a little better…slept through the night and didn’t get up til almost 7 and I’ll take that rather than getting out of bed at 5…but I still feel worn out at almost 8 but I’m hoping the coffee will help with that….had the doctor appointment yesterday and there was nothing alarming found so I’m not seeing him until next fall…I am going to go to a seminar they are offering to get my end of life stuff all set in a couple of weeks…I’ll get my DNR and will and the rest of it done then so I’ll have a packet for my daughter in case I croak….I did hear from the tree people last night and I’m in the queue and it looks like it will only be a couple of weeks until they can get to me…and I like these guys so that takes a load off…got all of the branches piled up and took the branch off the mulberry tree that was shattered so now all I have to do is wait….I have gained 10 pounds since the surgery and that is not acceptable to me so I’ll get on losing that weight after I go through all of the bad food I bought…I am going to try to get an outdoor ride in today but the F1 sprint race is on at 10 so I need to work around that and Michigan plays at 7:30 tonight so that will conflict with a race so I’ll have to figure that out…I do need to figure what I want to plant to replace the tree they are taking down…either a red maple or an apple tree but I know I’ll never see apples from it…but I think the next owner of this place will appreciate it…not much to do today…just going to sit here for a bit and have more coffee and then make chicken Masala for lunch…indoor ride for the first one here in a minute then outside….
Had to get a chest x-ray…
Well…at the doctor appointment this morning, I mentioned to him that I have been coughing for a month and it is damn annoying…so he listened to my lungs and sent me out for a chest x-ray just to make sure it’s not pneumonia and I got my blood work done at the same time…the whole mess didn’t cost me any copays today so that was cool…even without my coffee, my bp was high today but I’m resisting having any treatment for it…just don’t think I need it and I really don’t want to get into the whole taking multiple medications thing…I feel good with no symptoms of anything so I think it’s a good decision…now I get to have the coffee I didn’t have this morning and I’m going to sit here for a while and watch F1 practice….more later…
November 3rd
Well…damn, up at 5:04 this morning to go with getting up at 4:53 yesterday so I am worn out today…and there will be no coffee to get rid of the cobwebs until after my doctor appt at 9…I did get two indoor rides in yesterday but it is already 52 out there so I may be able to do an outdoor ride after I get back here…forgot to buy fresh ginger yesterday for the chicken Masala so I’ll have to stop at Aldi’s or Meijers after the appt so I can make it tomorrow…and I think I’ll try to drag some more of the downed branches into the pile…still haven’t heard from my brother about a tree service so he must be on vacation….so I’ll start researching companies over the weekend….have been good for a week but that ends tonight….have a lot of shows in the queue to watch that go with cocktails and I’ve just discovered a show called “Bosch: Legacy” that is pretty good along with the soccer documentary “Welcome to Wrexam” that I’m working through the first season of….so, plenty of entertainment for later today…not much to do today…just riding and the doctor appointment this morning and then I’ll be winging it for the rest of the day….more later….
A congressman with no bank accounts?
Well…as we find out things about the extreme right wing speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, he gets more and more hinky…like how does anyone in this day and age not have any bank accounts, checking accounts or any other financial records? But that is what ole mikie reported on his financial disclosure forms that he is required to file…do you think you could get along without a bank or checking account? His wife ran a “business” and the same for her…no bank account, no checking account…so now my question is “do they pay cash for everything? They have a half million dollar house in Louisiana…how is that mortgage paid? do they walk into the bank with a couple of grand in cash each month and pay for it? You get the idea…there is no way that this guy has no savings or any money trail anywhere…I’ll bet he scrubbed those records just like he scrubbed all of his internet presence in the past couple of weeks…poof, all gone so none of the extreme right wing bullshit he believes in is easily accessed….but it’s still there and as time goes on, this guy looks worse and worse…typical repub…geez…
November 2nd
Well…damn, the string broke this morning and I didn’t sleep in…up at 4:54 and I went to bed late so about 6 hours of sleep and I’m feeling it today…didn’t get much done yesterday but I do need to do the grocery run this morning and try to get a name of a tree service from my brother so I can get in the queue and get my yard cleaned up…it is going to make me cringe driving the perfectly clean car in the slop this morning since there is still snow on the roads that they never plow up here…but I do need things and I can’t wait til tomorrow with the doctor appointment at 9…I do need to get on the bike today since I took the day off yesterday but I just don’t feel like it right now…so maybe after I do the grocery run…might be able to ride outdoors tomorrow and Saturday with the highs in the 50’s…it’s only 36 right now so I’ll be inside today….not much to do today…just need to get moving in an hour or so but I’m not motivated at all…and I do need to clean more today but that won’t happen til this afternoon…more later…
Insurance doesn’t cover the trees…
Well…after another tree fell and hit the house this morning, luckily no damage to the house, I called my insurance agent and she passed it on to my insurance company…whatever you do, don’t use Frankenmuth for your home insurance…they don’t cover trees falling unless it falls and damages your house…so, it looks like I’m on the hook for 2-3000 dollars to get the other half of the rotted tree taken down and get all of the branches cut up and get the sagging ones cut off…and it’s going to be almost 7 weeks before anyone can get here…fun, huh?
November 1st
Well…damn, at least the power stayed on last night…but I lost so much of my big tree that I’m not sure it will survive…and it’s 16 frickin degrees out there on the first of November when the normal lows are in the mid 30’s…and we got 13 inches of snow yesterday so that means I can’t even get out to do the grocery run…have a doctor appointment Friday morning and I’m not sure if I will be able to get to it since they never plow the streets out here…so here I sit…depressed as hell hearing more and more branches fall outside and knowing I’m going to have to spend thousands to get my place cleaned up…so today is going to be just sitting here and doing nothing…don’t have the energy to clean and don’t want to ride the indoor bike…crap, I’m getting too old for this shit…more later…
Lost my trees to the snow…
Well…we’ve had almost 13 inches of heavy snow out here today and I’ve lost half of my big tree to the weight of the snow snapping branches off…and half of my mulberry tree is touching the yard since the biggest branch snapped but is still connected to the rest of the tree…so now I have two frickin weeks of work to clean up after this and it is not even over sine it is too cold to melt the snow off until tomorrow…when I was shoveling the snow, it sounded like shotguns going off as branches shattered all over the neighborhood…and now it’s going to cost me at least a couple of grand to have a tree service come out and cut the branches off that are still hanging on…I just don’t need this…
The new speaker is whitewashing his past…
Well…isn’t this to be expected from any repub who crawls out from under his/her rock? The new speaker of the House has started to delete his electronic past, eliminating his radical website that compared gay people to beastiality and pedophiles and his wife is doing the same with hers that was even more radically right wing and was cheering for the end times of armageddon where the final war takes place and jesus the comes down to save all of the people like them who are trying to cause it…but again, they don’t understand how the internet works and that there are hundreds of copies in archives across it…so now, why would they spend their lives spouting their hate for anyone who is not a white, straight, christian and now try to whitewash their past? Could it be that they are trying to hide who they really are sine now they are exposed to the general public instead of their inbred right wing bubble? They know that a large majority don’t support their truly radical policies so now they will try to hide them behind the lie that they are moderates…lies which should be challenged every time they open their mouths….geez…
