Well…after I got the first ride in dry this morning, it started to rain like crazy about a half mile out during the 2nd ride but I just kept going and it rained like crazy the entire ride…can remember being that wet on the bike in a long time and I didn’t even have my rain gear on…my shoes were squishy when I got back and I don’t think they will be dry enough to use tomorrow…or I will use them but won’t like it…had to put my mp3 player inside the waterproof bag cover or it probably would have stopped working…I think I could describe the amount of rain as a “gullywasher” and there were huge puddles everywhere but I didn’t even attempt to avoid them I was so wet….so now I’m taking the rest of the day off…making Masala tomorrow but I think I may have to much food going with pasta salad and potato salad in the fridge and I bought breakfast food of eggs and sausage this week, too…oh, well…

Well..feel pretty crappy today and I think it’s a continuation of how I felt yesterday…this heat and humidity is really taking a lot out of me and the rain that was forecast is missing to the south…as always…and I don’t think it’s ever going to rain again…so I’ll be out on the bike after the F1 sprint race from Spa and at least one more cup of coffee….I did sleep okay last night and made it though until 5:37 and I’ll take that after getting up around 3 for a couple of days…the humidity is still over 90% and I can feel it just sitting here so I’ll be soaked again after the rides…made coffee with ground beans this morning and I’m still working on the first bag I bought months ago…and I’m really not sure how it tastes since I really can’t taste anything…not sure what the meals are going to be today but I know I have pasta and potato salad to go with it…okay, just had to turn the fan on and I’m probably going to wear it out after having it on high all day yesterday…not much to do today…just going to pour more coffee down and wait for the sun to come up and then get moving….more later..

Well…I took another lazy day today with the high heat and humidity that is still here for a few more days so I sat in front of the fan and read this afternoon…even had a little episode between the rides that almost made me put the bike away with only one ride in….all of a sudden all of the energy drained out of me and it was all I could do to just stay standing…but it passed and of course I got back on the bike for the second ride…I did make potato salad and did laundry this afternoon…oh, and I went to the  beach and had a really nice swim…water is perfect and I hope it stays that way for a while…and the wind was low enough that there was no sand in the car…and that was a relief with how much work I had to do to clean it yesterday…okay, time to get my night started…with some tv…

Well…damn, I am just exhausted from the heat and can barely get moving today…so the rides are going to be a huge chore…the 57% chance of rain yesterday turned into nothing as it always does and we are back to the drought that plagues this place…I really don’t think it will ever rain again…need to pour more coffee down to be able to force myself to move…wearing a mask when I’m anywhere with crowds seems to be the smart move after T caught covid a few days back and she is miserable and getting damaged from it…and that sucks…not sure what I’m going to do today…should I go out to the beach? It’s going to be cloudy all day so that may not be bad…but it’s going to be almost 90 again today and the heat is wearing me down…oh, I said that already…I do have to remember to put sunscreen on before I get on the bike since I forgot it yesterday…it’s going to be one of those surviving the day days today and I know it’s going to be so much work…getting too old for this crap….more later…

Well…damn, the humidity was over 90% when I got on the bike at 6:45 this morning and I was drenched by the time I finished the second ride…after that I got to work removing the sand from the car and that was a huge pain in the ass since the humidity had stuck the sand to all the plastic in the interior and I had to loosen it up with a toothbrush in places so the vacuum could suck it up…and the exterior of the car was the same…it had an even coating of sand all over it…I’m going to avoid the beach if the wind is blowing hard like it was today…wasn’t going to get sand blasted since the wind was out of the south at close to 30 and blowing strait up the beach…I didn’t do anything else other than cook and read…made some pasta salad and cooked the ingredients for another batch of potato salad…I did make the pasta salad too dry so I’ll add a little bit more mayo to it tomorrow…so now it’s time to go back to reading…

Well…up and running before 6 this morning and I am sitting here sweating already with the humidity at 91% and the temp barely got under 80 overnight…pretty damn sticky and it’s going to get up to almost 90 today…pretty normal for Michigan in July…going to have to clean the car after the rides this morning after the wind filled the car with sand at the beach yesterday… and I need to drop my primary ballot off at the cop shop today so that will add a half mile to my first ride…going to make some pasta salad today along with getting the ingredients cooked for another batch of potato salad that I’ll assemble tomorrow but I’m not sure what I’m going to eat today since I used up all of the leftovers yesterday…just got a weather alert for high winds at 11 am so I need to get off my butt as soon as it gets light to get the rides in…the lake was warm enough to play in the waves yesterday and I may get out there again today but I will close the car up if I do…it is supposed to rain today but I’m still laughing at that…the radar says the rain is going to miss us to the north as it always does…not much to do today…just the rides and cleaning the car and then maybe out to the beach but we’ll see…more later…

Well…had another kind of weird interaction on the grocery run today but it made me smile so that’s cool…when I was loading my groceries into the trunk at Meijers, an older woman was trying to get two young girls out of her van that was parked right next to me…when she got the first girl out, she came over to me and said “what a gorgeous car” and that the older girl had something to ask me…she wondered if she could sit in the car…so of course I said yes and she climbed in then her grandmother took a picture of her to show to her mom…she had the biggest smile on her face while she sat there…pretty neat…

Well…damn, getting out of bed at 5:14 is starting to get old and I’m just exhausted…and I need to get on the bike in 25 minutes to get the day started…it’s going to be a 5 store grocery run today with DD having a 10 for 10 bucks sale on and needing to hit two Meijers to pick up my prescriptions….my damn right elbow is howling at me as it has been for a couple of weeks now and I’ll need to treat it before I get on the bike…not sure about a run to the beach today with having to go to the library to get more books after the grocery run and that may make me too late…but I really should stop thinking in terms of time since I really don’t have to meet any schedule anymore…the little weather widget at the bottom of the screen is saying an inch of rain tomorrow and all I can do is laugh about that…as I’ve said many times before…it doesn’t rain here and it’s not going to rain tomorrow…and that sucks…even though I didn’t swim yesterday, I did get some color and I think I’ll do that again today…but going to the beach has become a task and that’s not how it’s supposed to be…it’s hard living in my head right now…more later…

Well…it’s getting easier not feeling guilty just living and not accomplishing things every day…I guess the rides are accomplishing something and going to the beach is, too…but that’s about all I did but read this afternoon and just finished up the 5th book this week and now I can hit the library tomorrow after the grocery run and picking up the two prescriptions I have waiting at Meijers…I really do think the clutch on the car is working better after adding the brake fluid yesterday and that is pretty cool…the water was just too cold to go in today so I didn’t get a swim in…hoping it will be better tomorrow but they just issued a beach hazard statement and that means the red flag will be flying and you’re not supposed to swim…that’s never stopped me before…but I guess we’ll see…the little weather widget just said windy tomorrow so that’s the reason for the beach hazard notice…hope I can get the rides in before it gets too windy….okay, need to read a little news before tv time…

Well…9 minutes…that’s what it takes my coffee maker to brew a pot of coffee…and you don’t know that that is about at all…but Tom does…slept okay last night but was up at around 4 but didn’t get out of bed til 6 so that is a win…damn, my right elbow is back to hurting like crazy when I thought it was healing and that is a little depressing…got some color at the beach yesterday and I’ll be back out there again today hoping the water is warmer today…it was damn cold yesterday but still better than it was last year…the only thing I have to do today is get my absentee ballot filled out so I can drop it off at the drop box tomorrow…going to get some yellow potatoes for a buck for three pounds tomorrow along with picking up two prescriptions so I can make more potato salad this week…it’s only 62 out there right now so I may have to put a thin fleece on but I don’t want to…crap, need to get on the bike in a few minutes but I’m not ready for that yet…need more coffee and it’s not working at all right now….oh, well…more later…
