Well…man, I’m worn out today and I wonder if I should take a day off? Have been pretty stressed out about the failed zoom calls that I need to do before I can have the surgery in 3 weeks…and I got the instructions on the mychart page and it is going to be a huge pain in the ass…but it’s that or die so I guess I’ll work at it…don’t feel like doing anything right now but I have 5 more windows to clean today…I’ve been entertaining the radical idea of sitting on the couch and watching movies today…after the bike rides that is…I did get the two windows in here done yesterday and one of them was the bird feeder window that was the worst one to clean…it is nice to have them open and get more air in here….the animal rescue people trapped the other two kittens last night and are taking care of them…cleaning and de-worming them and socializing them for adoption…very nice people…and that is 4 less ferals out here….they were malnourished and have been eating almost constantly since they got them….don’t have to cook today since I have leftovers to use up…not much to do today…just going to have more coffee and get out on the bike here in 20 minutes or so….no wind this morning so it will be a good ride…more later….
They’re at it again….
Well…we all know that every damn repub is a huge hypocrite and they are all at it again…with the announcement of some of the money from the infrastructure bill that the dems passed and Biden signed is going to go to extend broadband internet access to all of the country, here come the repubs taking credit for it back in their states…like the senator from Alabama, tommy tuberville who came out with a statement saying that it is a great thing and really needed for Alabama…and he said it with a straight face even though he knew he voted against the bill…then we have the idiot boebert railing about not getting a new bridge for her state when other places are getting bridges and roads…again, she voted against the infrastructure bill and spouts off against it damn near every day so I think it’s justice that her pet bridge is not funded…for all of these morons, their job is to scream and yell but they never even think of legislating for their constituents…maybe think next time morons…geez
July 3rd
Well…I really hate zoom calls….and I have one at 11 today and it won’t work and it’s going to be so frustrating…slept okay last night but feel worn out today….I know I didn’t eat enough yesterday with a slice of pizza and a chicken sandwich but I didn’t do much but ride the bike so I guess that evens out…I do need to keep losing weight so I’ll keep up not eating….it’s almost 7:30 and I need to get out on the bike soon to get two rides in by 10:30…one of these days I’m going to take a day off…I guess that will wait til after the surgery when I’ll have two months off….I do need to keep cleaning this place up so it will be presentable when my daughter gets here……I wonder if I should go to the beach this week since I won’t be able to swim after the surgery…damn, my life is really going to suck after the 25th…oh,well…I’m still thinking that they are going to find that my cancer is much worse and it’s going to kill me…I think I’ll work on updating my will when my daughter is here…it would suck to die at only 70 but I can accept it…not much to do today…just need to get on the bike right now and get going….more later…
It starts tomorrow…
Well…the whole process of my July of healthcare gets started tomorrow morning with a video conference about the surgery and what to expect after…then I have the periodontist on the 10th and then on the 20th…another seminar on the 12th then the surgery on the 25th, getting the catheter out on the 1st of August and then the recovery starts…my daughter sent me a ton of incontinence supplies since that is one side effect of the surgery that should go away after a month or so…then into rehab since they are cutting into the muscles of my abdomen and putting a two inch incision in it…and three other holes for the robotic tools to go in….man, I’m going to be happy when this month is over…and I really do need to clean this place up so it will be presentable when my daughter gets here on the 23rd…so I need to get organized soon but I think I’m taking the day off…but I may do a couple more windows…who knows?
July 2nd
Well…damn, emby reset again last night and I lost all of the sports channels I watch so no formula 1 today or indycar or nascar….and that sucks…so I’m in a pretty crappy mood this morning…had an okay day yesterday and got a little work done but I don’t feel like doing anything today…I am going to get out on the bike since the F1 race is on at nine and I can’t see it…crap…the damn fireworks are starting out here and I can’t wait for that to be over…I do need to do a practice run for the video meeting Monday to make sure everything is working….it was supposed to rain all night and today but nothing so I’ll get out on the bike soon….life is going to be a bore without my sports channels….took some burger out of the freezer so I can have a second meal today but I’m not sure if I’ll cook it today…had the first beans out of my garden yesterday and they were great but not a lot of them and they are small this year…man, this year is disappointing….not much to do today…and that is true with no sports…crap, again….more later
Legislating from the bench…
Well…this supreme court has to go…it is so corrupt that the right wingers on it are legislating from the bench to get what their repub cronies can’t get through legislation since the ideas are so despised…just yesterday, the right wing 6 decided that it is perfectly fine for people to discriminate against the LGBTQ citizens of this country…and it was done with a fake case that is full of lies and perjury…essentially a woman in Colorado said that she wanted to start a business making websites for straight people but the law made her cater to anyone…but the thing is she never had that business and still doesn’t and it’s 7 years later…and the supposedly gay person that she said asked her to make the website never heard of her…and it turns out that she lied about that in court filings since the person is a straight married man who lives in San Francisco….but that didn’t matter to the right wing 6…they took the case anyway since it would allow them to make it legal to discriminate against the LGBTQ people and anyone else…black, latino, Muslims? Yep, it’s now legal for someone to shout christian and they can get away with any type of discrimination…how much more corrupt can the SC get when they are now not following any rules? I guess we’ll see…geez…
July 1st
Well…running late this morning and have to get off my butt and get the rides in before 10:25 when the F1 sprint race comes on…had some weird dreams last night where I was working again and had a presentation to do and had no clue what it was supposed to be about…got a lot done and made my first pizza in the grill and it came out okay but takes a lot of fiddling to keep the temp steady….I do have to do the pre registration for the video visit for the pre op stuff on Monday….and I have to do a dry run to make sure both the tablet and phone work this time…I really hate these video things…I mean, in addition to the 5 grand I’m going to have to pay for the surgery, they want me to buy new computer equipment? That sucks….and I can’t afford it…the air is still bad out here at 77 that is considered “unhealthy” so I should put a mask on to ride today but I really don’t want to….I did get laundry done yesterday so today looks like an easy one with no cooking and just cleaning…will probably do some more windows today since they are dirty and part of spring cleaning i never got to….not much to do today…it’s warm enough to get out in a t-shirt today when I go out in a few minutes…need to get moving…more later…
Not paying that price…
Well…I did remember to check on ticket prices for the Muskegon air show and my jaw just dropped…I mean, how many people are going to pay 50 bucks to see 15 planes on display and a couple of demonstrations? Not me, that’s for sure…oh, well….more later…
June 30th
Well…damn, need to get moving and it’s only 6:29…will be out on the bike here in about 10 minutes…the particulate number is down to 77 this morning so I think I can go out without a mask…there is a lot of fog out there today and I like riding in the fog…slept okay last night but don’t feel like it right now…having a hard time getting started today and I hope the coffee starts working soon…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but get my surgery rescheduled and the bike rides and today I need to get my paperwork done for the Monday zoom medical conference…it is going to be so busy over the next month and I am not looking forward to it….I am going to bake a pizza on the grill today and I think I’ll do that for lunch…and I need to figure out what else to make and I think it’s going to be eggs and toast since I have more than a dozen in the fridge…not much to do today…need to get the floor in the spare room mopped and get started putting the bed frame together….more later…
Can the SC be more racist?
Well..with the Supreme Court blowing up 40 years of precedent today by making affirmative action illegal in college admissions, my only question is “can they be any more racist?” I mean Clarence Thomas wouldn’t be on the court if there wasn’t AA back when he applied to college…he pulled the typical repub bullshit…he got his and now lets pull the ladder up so no one else an use it. The telling part of the decision is they left in place the ability of colleges and universities to use legacy as a factor for admissions…so family (white) is perfectly acceptable but trying to make the society more equitable and addressing the systemic racism built into it is not…this smacks of the decision the court made to gut the voting rights act saying that racism doesn’t exist anymore…maybe in their world, but in the real world it sure does and now quality minority candidates lose another avenue into the middle class….geez…
