Well…with all of the stuff I had to do today, I’m just now getting started looking for a topic today so it’s going to be a little later when I find one….I did get 40 miles in on the bike, mowed the lawn, filled a bunch of bare spots in the lawn with seed and dirt, and put the plastic and boards away that I used to cover the garden…and now I’m sitting here at 2:45 with the heating pad on my back and I think I’ve earned a little down time…. so I’m going to sit here for a bit and read some news until I find a topic and come back here for a political one….more later…
April 28th
Well…can I just roll into a ball and soak into the couch today? It is going to be such a busy day today that I’m not looking forward to it…two rides, an errand, and mowing the lawn is going to keep me busy all day and I am not looking forward to it….going to make lasagna with the Italian sausage tomorrow but I need to get out and get the stuff for sausage tacos to make this weekend…I’m so damn worn out that I really don’t want to do anything…think they will be soft tacos with sauteed green peppers, lettuce, and tomatoes but I have leftovers that need to be used first…have been pretty bad at meal planning this week and probably could wait to make anything new til Monday but that means I’ll have to freeze the sausage that is in the fridge….that sounds like a plan and means that I don’t have to go out today…got 23 miles in yesterday and I think that is going to be the plan for today since it is only 43 out there right now and I don’t want to have to do full thermasuit….I really do need a day off but that will wait til Sunday…lots to do today….think I’ll try to streamline the day down to the basics so it won’t be overwhelming…and that means getting on the indoor bike soon but I really don’t want to…more later…
another biopsy
Well…damn, got some bad news from the urologist today…after the doctor saw the MRI, she thinks there may be the aggressive cancer “hiding” in my prostate…so, she wants to do another biopsy with what she can see now…so, I’ll be back in the office in three weeks for another one…one good thing that came out of the MRI is that the cancer is still localized in the prostate and hasn’t spread to anywhere else…I do have a “U” shaped kidney but that is a congenital thing that I was born with like the no discs in part of my back and the hip problems I’ve had my entire life…oh, well…I’m a little depressed from these developments but what can you do?
why hasn’t ted cruz been arrested?
Well…I guess the repubs can do whatever they want…even try to overthrow the government and they just walk away free…in the past few days, a recording of ted cruz conspiring with the idiot trump to try to do just that has been released and my question is: why hasn’t ted cruz been arrested yet? One good thing about this new bombshell is that Jack Smith has the recording and we all have hope he is going to indict these bastards since he does have an investigation going about January 6th and this will fit right in with the rest of it…but why is he still gathering evidence? That one recording should be enough proof to indict right now…what is old ted going to say? That it’s not him on the tape? That it’s a “deep fake” done by George Soros? Not one damn lawmaker that was involved in the coup attempt has even had his or her hands slapped even with their roles recorded for history…that they approved and supported stealing the election…let’s start with ole ted…geez…
April 27th
Well…how the hell can it be 28 degrees when it’s almost May? This is going to be one of those years where the is no spring and I don’t like that at all…it should be in the 70’s every day and it won’t even get into the 60’s today…got the results of the MRI on my mychart page and I think it’s more serious than my urologist is letting on…not sure how long I have but it has triggered a huge bout of depression this morning…one troubling finding is that I have a “U shaped kidney” and I don’t even know what the hell that is….it appears that the cancer has not spread but I don’t think they should put the results on the mychart page until the doctor sees it and can explain it…had an okay day yesterday but I know I didn’t eat enough but who cares? And why am I working so hard to stay in shape when it doesn’t really mean anything? I am going to cook a pizza today in the new toaster oven and figure out what I need for sausage tacos that I want to make over the weekend….I sure hope I can get to the UK trip before I start feeling the cancer….not much to do today…I have no motivation to get on the bike and it’s almost 8…maybe by 9? I am going to have to mow the lawn at some point and that might be today with the rain that is coming in for the next few days…it’s going back down into the 40’s for highs for a few days and that is even more depressing…this is not going to be a good day….more later…
I like the new oven…
Well…I’m still a little surprised that I was able to get the new air fryer toaster oven a Target today and the deal was even better than I thought…it’s normal price is 109 bucks and I got it for 59…used it to make lunch today and it got the fries crispy in only 18 minutes from frozen…and then I used it to cook a piece of the sweet Italian sausage to test it out and I really like it quite a bit and at 1.49 a pound, it is a steal…I am going to use it to make some lasagna over the weekend and I had a suggestion from one of the Mastodonians to use it to make tacos and I think it would be great in a soft taco with onions, green pepper, cheese and tomatoes…so I may go out and get those ingredients Friday and give it a try….I bet it would make a great omelet, too…it has been a busy day for me with the grocery run to 5 stores, getting a ride in, and then getting the sausage cut up and in the freezer…I love my new prep table…it was so spacious with the shelf that I could lay 10 pounds out and still had room to do the cutting and bagging on the top even with the new toy on it….so a good day and it is going to be an easy night for me and getting things back to normal…
Nothing but greed…
Well…all through the tech sector, tens of thousands of people have been laid off and we hear nothing but whining from the companies that they can’t afford to keep them on, their going broke, and lots of other bullshit…and one of the worst is google who have been cutting people hand over fist since they don’t have enough cash flow to preserve their jobs…but, maybe the would have if they wouldn’t have spent 70 billion dollars for stock buybacks that started in April of 2022 and continue to this day…and we all know who stock buybacks benefit and it sure isn’t the remaining workers…it is a clear transfer of wealth to the rich that was illegal 30 years ago but the repubs repealed that law…of course. This is nothing but pure greed from the owners of Google and I think they are doing it now since the prospect of the dems taking over the entire government in 2024 is pretty good and the dems have said they will make these upward transfers of wealth illegal again…and the rich want to steal as much as they can before that…geez…
April 26th
Well…man, I feel worn out today with all of the stress from the MRI yesterday…not sure how lying on my back for 40 minutes wears me out but it does….have a lot to do this morning but I didn’t eat enough yesterday to support it…I mean a half of a chicken breast for the whole day? I feel like I’ve lost more weight so I guess that’s something…need to have some toast before I head out and I need to order the toaster oven from Target so I can pick it up this morning…and DD has sweet Italian sausage for 1.49 a pound so I need some of that…but you need to buy 10 lbs so most of that will be for the freezer…so that will be five stops today including Menards to get some potting soil so I can plant this weekend…not sure when I’m going to get on the bike today but I would like to ride outside if it warms up enough…and the lawn is going to need to be mowed again before the weekend so that is going to be on the schedule…the garden has been under plastic for two days but it needs to be uncovered after I get the errands run today…have a bunch more seeds that need to be planted so that will be a project for the day if I can summon up the energy for it….more later…
Got through it…
Well…lying on your back inside a really loud tube for 40 minutes is not as fun as it sounds…but I survived it and the nurses who were taking care of me were very nice…they did do what everyone does when they try to draw blood or find a vein in my arms…they started with the right arm and missed the vein and I already have a bruise starting there and where they then move to my left arm to inject the dye…that left a huge bruise, too, and it bled like crazy…now all I have to do is wait 6 weeks to talk to my urologist…cocktails now…
More copays…
Well…just found out that I had to pay a 225 buck copay for the MRI today and that sucks…I think I’ve had 4 grand go out just for my health this year and I sure hope that stops soon…still doing okay on cash so I guess I shouldn’t bitch too much since most people can’t even afford the 225….I did do a recon run to find out where things are at Trinity this morning after the run to DD…got a couple of self rising pizzas for 6 bucks so that makes it about 1.50 a meal and that’s pretty cheap….have the first ride in for the day and I’m not sure if I’m doing two…it’s damn cold outside so it will be inside if I do…have to prep for the MRI at 5 and that is not going to be pleasant…oh, well…
