Well…darn…up at 5:40 but didn’t drag myself out of bed til almost 7 since I am taking the day off and feel no sense of urgency today….still hurts from riding yesterday but it is a little better so I hope it will heal before I try to get on the bike tomorrow…I do need to do the yard work today but that might wait til after lunch with the truck race from Bristol on dirt on at 10….my right side hurts, too, and I’m sure I’m going to hurt it more when I go out to rake and bundle up the big branches to be put on Tuesday…still thinking about planting some flower seeds today since it appears we are past the hard freezes…but it will be down to 37 on the 18th and I wonder if that’s too cold…could probably start putting plants out in the garden but I think I’ll wait about a week or so….will have to get the hose out if I plant the seeds today and I hope the screw on shut off valve still doesn’t leak….still having problems getting green peppers and cukes to start so I may just plant the rest of the seeds I have in the garden and hope…I do have to buy a new hose since one of them is leaking and I’ll get that done this week….still need to get a propane tank for the grill and with getting 244 bucks back from the insurance company, I think I’ll use some of that so I’ll have a working grill again….not much to do today…just the yard work and taking it easy… sore everywhere and I need to heal up….more later…
Georgia is heating up…
Well…the NYT is out with a story today saying that the investigation into trump and his cronies is heating up and the signs point to the idea that Fani Willis is going to go big with her investigation since she has infomed almost 20 people they are targets of the investigation…and we know idiot boy is one of them and rudy, too, along with the head of the Georgia repub party…and since mark meadows was on the call where idiot boy asked the SoS to “find” 12,000 votes he should be one of them…and let’s not forget the phone calls that lindsey graham made for the same purpose….if there are around 20 people under investigation, it should be all of idiot boy’s inner circle along with all of the people in on the fake electors scheme, too…so, there are indictments coming…just not soon enough for me….
That was a mistake…
Well…damn, just got back from doing the second ride of the day and that may have been a mistake…where they did the biopsy last week hurts like crazy and it was not so good of an idea to sit on it for almost 3 hours today…and my fingerless riding gloves opened up the burn that was healing on my right thumb….and my back is being heated again since I could barely stand after getting off the bike…not a lot of pain but just so damn stiff that I had to do something…so, it looks like I’m taking a rest and repair day tomorrow and I’ll just get the yard work done instead of riding….I do need to come up with a political topic for later but I think I already know what it’s going to be…so, I should be back here in just a little while….more later…
April 8th
Well…just poured the first cup of coffee and I sure hope it starts to work soon….had some dreams last night that I don’t remember but it had something to do with being cold and then I woke up and was cold so that was weird….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I need to work on the yard today and I will get to that after I get two rides in…my hands are finally starting to heal and the stiffness is going away just in time to hurt them again raking today…I did eat two meals yesterday to have enough fuel to support riding two times and I got 23 miles in but I think I ate too much so that leaves me on the fence about eating two meals today…but I have chicken that needs to be cooked or frozen so I’ll probably do two breasts today…but won’t eat them until tomorrow…I have a leftover one that I forgot about and that will be enough for today….how many calories in a boneless skinless breast? Not more than 300 so I’ll stay under 1K for the day…not much to do today…Man U plays at 7:30 so I won’t be able to get out on the bike til 9:30 or so but it will still be cold so I’ll be in full thermasuit but maybe in shorts this afternoon….more later…
A pleasant surprise…
Well…just walked out on the porch to get the mail and in it was a pleasant surprise…got a check from my insurance company for 244 bucks for some sort of a refund to my premiums…I have both my car and house insurance with the same company so I’m not sure what account it’s for but I’ll take it…it would be nice to know but I don’t need to know….and I really don’t think I’ll call my agent to find out…it’s just a piece information that is not necessary and I don’t feel like doing any work to get it…
Racism is alive and well in Tennesee..
Well…if you truly don’t believe the repubs are racist fascists, just look what happened in Tennessee yesterday…when three dem house members stood up with students to protest the repubs inaction on gun violence, the repubs in control there went full fascist and voted to expel the three…but only two of them were actually expelled…can you guess what color the two were? Yeah, you guessed it…both of expelled members were black and the one who was not expelled but did exactly what the others did but her skin is white so she gets a pass…and she even drew attention to that fact when asked about it…essentially saying that her colleagues are just a bunch of racists. this is how fascism starts in this country and you can see this everywhere the repubs are in charge…attacking voting rights and even throwing elected dems out of office as desantis has done in Florida to go along with the attacks on democracy in Tennessee…we need to vote these assholes out everywhere across this country…we did it here in Michigan and it feels damn good to have dems running the show here…it feels like normalcy and every dem should have it…geez…
April 7th
Well…damn, I’m even more sore this morning and I hurt everywhere…even have a headache and that is not normal at all…I need to get moving and I’m not sure how that is going to work…it’s April and it’s only 29 degrees out there and that sucks…I am so tired of the cold and it gets worse as I get older…okay, is this the starting of a little bout of depression? Sure feels like it….but I’ll have to see how it plays out…I really should get on the bike now but that is going to wait for a while so I can get some coffee in me…at least the sun is shining but it’s not warming things up so what’s the point? Didn’t get anything done yesterday but I am going to try to get some yard work done today but that is going to be a chore with how sore I am….but I think moving around will help with that…at least I hope it will…I did try to eat more yesterday but I was still under 1,000 calories and I wonder if that is contributing to how I feel? Eating has gotten pretty hard to do as I try to keep losing weight…I do want to check the car to see how much coolant I lost on the run out to Ada the other day…pretty sure most of the air in the system should be gone and I’ll have to fill the expansion tank….not much to do today…need to get on the bike by 8:30 and that gives me 23 minutes to veg and have more coffee…going to try to get outside for a ride later but I don’t feel like doing anything right now….more later…
Took the day off…
Well…after the two rides today, I decided to take the day off since I hurt so much and was exhausted…even laid down on the couch to try to take a nap after I almost fell asleep writing the second post today…and I had two meals…or two half meals today since I know that is part of being exhausted with only doing one light meal a day for the past 5 days…my hands really hurt so I didn’t go out and start working on the lawn…I will get out to rake up the leaves tomorrow and get the branches bundled up to go out with the trash on Tuesday…I could even wait til Monday when it is going to be in the 60’s but I do need to do things over the weekend along with riding twice a day outdoors….so tomorrow will be better and I’ll get some work done…I do have lots of seeds up downstairs and should be able to plant in a couple of weeks….
Clarence Thomas has to go…
Well…with the latest revelations of unethical conduct by Clarence Thomas, the only solution is for him to go…just today reports all over the news say the Thomas has been taking what are in effect bribes from big repub donors in the form of travel holidays all over the world and not reporting them as he is required to by law. this is in addition to the bribes that his wife has been taking ever since Thomas was put on the bench by a repub president…and he still will not recuse himself from cases that involve these big repub donors that come in front of the SC…this type of behavior shows that there needs to be reform of the court and force them to follow the rules that every other judge has to follow…and there needs to be an easier way to remove corrupt judges from the court….instead of the 2/3 majority of the senate that will never happen….this kind of crap has to end or the entire justice system will fail….geez…
April 6th
Well…damn, I hurt this morning…and it’s darn near everything that does…my back and hands are stiff and it is going to take some time to loosen them up today….had a good day yesterday and the car survived it so that’s one less thing to worry about…I think today is going to be a recovery day but I am going to get on the indoor bike …it’s too cold to ride outside today so I’ll try to do two indoors to keep the guilts away….it’s only 35 outside and I am so tired of the cold but it’s going to warm up starting tomorrow so I have that to look forward to…man, my brain is just not working right now and the coffee is just getting it started so I’m going to stay in slow mode for a bit…I do have to start looking for meals after I finish up the ham today and I may just use the last can of potatoes to fry up but might make some oven fries instead…didn’t have much to eat yesterday other than a ham sandwich on Italian bread so I am going to toast some of the Italian this morning with peanut butter and coffee…not much to do today…just going to ease into it and try to loosen everything up…it’s a little weird to hurt in places that are new and I hope I don’t have to hurt everything again…damn, I’m old….more later…
