Well…darn…the bluetooth earbuds quit working this morning and I was just getting used to them…so I had to use my corded ones that just don’t sound as good…a few days ago, some of the functions stopped working, like being able to pause the tablet just by tapping the button on the right one…and the right one started cutting out when I looked down for some reason…this morning they wouldn’t turn on correctly or pair with the tablet anymore so I guess they’re dead…so, I had gotten so used to the wireless freedom that I went out on amazon and bought myself a cheap pair that got good reviews and were 30% off at 20 bucks….and I needed chain lube anyway so I got them both and they’ll be here next week…
March 17th
Well…strange…when I woke up today I was sure it was Saturday…but it’s not…up at 4:04 and then out of bed at 6:10 and that is too damn early…and I’m feeling it right now with just pouring the first cup of coffee…it looks like it rained almost all night last night but it will be stopping soon…now, do I try to ride outdoors today or just stay in? Still don’t want to be cold and there is a winter weather advisory on for all day tomorrow and into Sunday with up to 4 inches of snow with the really cold air coming in tomorrow…I mean we’re halfway through March and the high is going to be 26? Didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I do want to clean the freezer today but I’m not motivated to do anything right now….I guess I could get on the bike here soon but there is F1 practice on in a bit and I want to see that…and there is a 1,000 mile race on from Sebring that starts around 11 or so and that will be on all day….so, I’m not sure what I’m going to do….have to figure out two meals today and I know one of them is going to be the other batch of catfish and I think I’m going to make some nachos for the other one …I did buy tomatoes and they need to be used and I have shredded cheese that is going to go bad if I don’t use it soon….not much to do today…man, I just can’t get started…it is only 7 so I guess I can sit here and have another cup of coffee for a few minutes anyway…then drag my butt downstairs for the first ride….more later….
Two Flickers….
Well…it’s been a pretty good day out here and it has been raining for a couple of hours now and I hope it cleans up the streets some…didn’t get a lot done today other than the two bike rides and cooking but I need to clean the freezer tomorrow and check the fluids in the car…another busy day…ha, ha…I did have two Northern flickers on the feeder today at the same time and one of them was a female so maybe I’ll have a nesting pair of those…I didn’t know that these birds are woodpeckers and I found that out when I looked for how to tell the male from females….pretty cool to look over and see two of those big birds there when I never saw one of those in my life until I moved out here….not sure what is going on with the dentists out here but my regular one sent me a text for me to schedule a cleaning and root canal and they said they don’t have any appointments available til the middle of July…and my periodontist is out almost that far…man, these guys have a license to print money….okay, on to finishing up a few things and then tv and a cocktail or two…oh, I got up to 315 followers on Mastodon today..in the more than ten years on twitter, I had 12…
Indictments are coming…
Well…dare I even say that it looks like indictments are coming for the idiot boy? In both the NY election fraud case where he paid off Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet before the election, and in the Georgia case where he asked the SoS to “find” votes for him, we are seeing signs that indictments are coming. In Georgia, the special grand jury members have publicly stated that they have recommended indictments for more than 10 people…but that had to go to the prosecutor and she still has to empanel a normal grand jury to issue the indictments…and as more and more info comes out, that appears to be what is going to happen. In NY, the grand jury brought Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen back in to testify to them again to clarify other evidence the received…and that jury is done with their work now other than issuing their report to the prosecutor…and that may happen by the end of the week if the pundits are to be believed…I know I’ve talked about this before and have hoped and hoped that this asshole gets indicted soon…but the old cliche of the wheels of justice turning slowly is true…just as long as they do eventually turn…geez…
March 16th
Well…man, having a hard time getting going today but I guess that’s from not getting to coffee until 7:24 after getting out of bed at 6:44…but I was up at 5:04…again,…and I can’t figure it out…oh, well…it looks like it’s going to rain this afternoon and into tomorrow then the temp is going to plunge with the high only in the 20’s Sat and I am so tired of the cold…I guess I’ll just write off March completely since there is no spring in the forecast….need to get on the bike by nine so I can get two rides in before noon…going to have catfish for lunch after getting a pound of the nuggets in some seasoning yesterday but I’m not sure what I’m going to have with it…probably some oven baked fries so it will be a bit like fish and chips….I do have a chicken leg quarter that needs to be used today but that will be later…only had some pasta and bean dip yesterday so I think I’ll be pretty sluggish on the bike this morning….feel that way right now and I could use the day off the bike but I won’t take it..need to lose another 10 pounds or so and that means I need to sweat it out….not much to do today…Man U plays this afternoon and then it’s new show night for entertainment….Picard and the Mandolorian will make it interesting and I’m looking forward to that….more later…
Wednesday…
Well..just couldn’t come up with a clever title for this one so you get Wednesday….it’s been a good day so far with getting the grocery runs done early and got everything I had on the list…even stopped at DD and got a 7 pound spiral sliced ham for 7 bucks but it’s frozen so it will have to thaw until Saturday…have plenty of other food to use up before that so no big deal…when I got back here around 9:30, I got right on the bike for the first ride, and after about a 10 minute break, I got right back on to do the second ride…finishing up around noon or so…then lunch where I made way too much pasta so I only had half of it and I think it will make another entire meal….don’t have a lot to do today but I do want to have all of it done before Liverpool plays at 4…only have to do the dishes and make some seasoning for the catfish I took out of the freezer….and do my teeth…that’s first…
Finally…sensible gun laws come to Michigan..
Well…as I’ve hammered home since I started this site, elections have consequences and we are seeing that right now with the slate of sensible gun control laws that the dems are going to pass this week. They start with having to register for any firearm purchase, closing down the gun show loophole that puts guns int he hands of people who shouldn’t have them…and make every sale subject to a background check…sets up a “red flag” law which would allow family members to petition courts to remove guns from unstable people…another part would enhance storage safety by asking gun owners to lock their guns up and keep them unloaded…you get the point…all of these measures are popular with everyone except the gun lobby and were promised in the 2022 election so the dems are carrying through…things that would never have happened if the repubs were still running the state…geez…
March 15th
Well…slept all the way through til 6:40 this morning but don’t feel like I slept at all…I guess I’m getting old…the coffee needs to work right now if I’m going to get out for the grocery run today…need to hit three stores today with DD having spiral sliced ham on sale for 99 cents a pound…it’s only 19 degrees out there right now and spring is so far away that I can’t see it…okay…just looked at the weather and it is only 17 degrees out there and I’m depressed…..I know there is nothing I can do about the weather but damn, 17 degrees half way through March? Oh. well…didn’t get anything done yesterday but the rides and I’m only going to add in the grocery runs today and that is enough for one day….only had one meal yesterday and I think I’m feeling that this morning…I mean a chicken leg and some bean dip is not enough with doing two rides…..I wonder if I could just relax a bit for one day? Nope….that’s just not me…I did thaw some catfish so I’ll have that to eat today along with the leftover chicken leg…one of these days I’m going to eat whatever I want since I can with my mouth not hurting…should I try ice cream? Haven’t been able to eat that for at least 10 years and I might just try….not much to do today…just the grocery runs and then back here to get on the bike…and I should have that done by noon or so and then soccer this afternoon…man, I feel old today….more later…
Another okay day…
Well…even though I spent money on drain cleaning, it was still a pretty good day today…started out getting the first ride in, then watched the drain guy work and got to see that was drain really is clean all the way out to the street now on his “drain tv” then I mopped the floor around the clean out port, then back on the bike for ride two…then I made some chicken for lunch and did the laundry…then my driver called and I set up the transportation for the next surgery on July 10th…an I made some bean dip for the ultimate test of my healing by eating tortilla chips with it and had no pain at all and you don’t know how happy that makes me…so now I’ll be able to eat anything I want until July 10th..or until I set up the root canal with my other dentist….oh and “Cocaine Bear” showed up on plex today and it might just be the comedy I need right now…or I may save it for Friday night…we’ll see…
No idiot, the Ukraine war is not a territorial dispute..
Well…I wonder how much putin is paying the repubs these days? It must be something since the entire right wing of this country is spouting his talking points all over the place today. This came out of the idiot desantis in a speech in Florida today where he called the Russian invasion of Ukraine a “territorial dispute” and also said that if he is elected president, he would cut off all aid to Ukraine…exactly what putin is paying him for….this is just another extension of the idiot trump’s extortion of Ukraine and desantis is using it to prove that he is the farthest right of all of the potential candidates and would love to have the US be so weak we would let a two bit dictator push them around…just like putin did to trump…you do remember Helsinki and how trump kissed putin’s ass and said he believed him more than our intelligence agencies? This traitorous act has become the norm for the traitors who make up the modern repub party and it makes it even more important to support Ukraine now and beat putin into the ground…who knows what the future hold…but we do know it will be worse under a repub…
